The Teng Records imprint returns with the 'Sweet Dreams' EP this October, by Louis Guilliaume. Comprising three original cuts from the Dutch producer. Louis Guilliaume's MPC inflected house and techno grooves have been found on reputable labels such as Glasgow Underground, Home Taping Is Killing Music and Biorhythm, and the Rotterdam based producer can boast appearances at two leading lights in the nightclub game, namely, Berlin's Berghain and Glasgow's Sub Club. The release steams in full force with the heady, insistent vibe of 'Lullaby', seeing Guilliaume opt for a chuggy bass hook and busy drum programming, both of which are cleverly altered and automated throughout the track, creating a flourishing dynamic and punchy, acidic, peak-time feel. Up next is '652 AM', and as the name would suggest, this is a brooding, early hours of the morning Techno record, built around murmuring vocal lines, tension building synth pads and a penetrating, profound low-end depth. Resulting in a hypnotic, progressive track full of unique characteristics. Lastly to close the single, Guilliaume offers up 'Bittersweet', taking things in a deeper direction, and employing classic house tropes, such as warm strings, jazzy Rhodes licks and bumpy organic drums, a perfect closer for this intelligent, forward-thinking EP.

"it is the profound tendencies, and not the passing excitements, that will shape the future." Louis Guilliaume has come a long way and with his every release he has proven to deserve his space amongst the finest techno producers out there. Unknown Forces EP is a straight forward techno EP which shows influences from his hometown Rotterdam to Detroit and back to Berlin. The EP opens up with "Digital Stone". A sensitive acid sledgehammer which bounces gently on to your head. "Ghost In The Shell" is no different with its massive basslines and dark synths drenched in that typical uncompromising Guilliaume flavor. With "X-11-101", mr. Guilliaume didn’t hold back. This here is what you call an instant peak time floor filler. Bigroom techno, sinister and compelling all the way. After that we finish with the tense and dark title track "Unknown Forces" which balances somewhere on the edge between hope and desperation. With “Unknown Forces EP”, the ever going forward Guilliaume sets a new mark in the electronic landscape. Essential!

Ahead of the Bluredism full length LP, 'Beautiful Ugly Collection', set to drop via Teng in October, Blured delivers the 'Life & Bad Girls' single this September, comprising two original house cuts. Cardiff based producer, Bradley Albertides, releases music under the titles Blured and Bluredism, delivering forward-thinking house and techno, full of grit and delicate intricacies. Although Albertides is in the early stages of his career, early support has already come from heavy hitters like Martyn, Ryan Elliot and Luv Jam. The release opens with title track 'Life & Bad Girls', a dance-floor orientated house track employing hooky organ stabs, cosseting pads and call and response vocal snippets. Blured plays on subtle nuances to these fundamental elements throughout the tracks seven-minute duration to create an hypnotic, peak-time record. On the flip to close the single is, 'It's How The World Goes', a beautifully contrasting track and stunning b-side material, blured opts for sensual Rhodes chords, punchy drums and earth-shattering subby tones as the driving force. Emotive, original vocals add a unique character to the track, while melodic progressions and additional percussion lines add a further intrigue to the composition. Teng offer up more intelligently crafted music again here, this is a striking indication of what to expect rom the Bluredism LP to follow, Blured's 'Life & Bad Girls' EP is out on Teng 2nd September (Vinyl) and 23rd September (Digital) 2013.

Nick Woolfson makes a return under his AKRA guise to his fledgling Teng imprint this June, with 'TunnelVision', backed with remixes from two heavy hitters in the world of deep electronic music, namely Matthias Vogt and Iron Curtis. Teng Records was launched by Nick Woolfson one half of the electronic outfit, Mock & Toof, in 2012 as a platform for Nick to release a newly formed house and techno sound under the AKRA alias. Now seven
releases deep the imprint has spread it's wings and blossomed into an already reputable label, with Neville Watson, Matthias Vogt and Nubian Mindz on the roster, and the likes of Ewan Pearson, Kerri Chandler, 6th Borough Project, Chicken Lips, 2Bears, The Revenge and Groove Armada supporting, testament to it's quality. The release opens with the original version of 'TunnelVision' here, which sees AKRA delve deep into his dark,
atmospheric vibe with eerie tones and cavernous reverbs, a boomy kick and crunchy drums add a further weight, while the focal point introduces a cosseting organ melody and emotive piano chords, adding a shimmering beauty to the record. Next up Matthias Vogt turns in a remix following his Mias Void 'Tactics' EP earlier In the year, Vogt takes things in a deep techno direction with some saw-wave bass action, 707 style rhythms and smooth, evolving pad lines. The latter stages introduce more bubbling bass tones and some resonant psychedelic synths for good measure, once again tasteful stuff from Vogt. Closing the release we have another remix of 'TunnelVision' from German house maestro, Iron Curtis, stamping his signature analogue sound of the original, with a raw intensity, delicate intricacies and baroque structural changes resulting in a profoundly interesting rework. The track progresses with raw, shuffling drums, acidic bass hits and sampled, warbling vocal lines, as expected resulting in more intelligent, unique, work from Curtis.

Nick Woolfson's Teng imprint drops, 'Tactics', this April by German producer Mias Void, backed with a remix from The Barking Dogs. Mias Void, better known in the industry as Matthias Vogt, has been producing infectious house grooves for quite some time now, with releases for labels such as, Chicago's Large Music and Lazy Days Recordings. Here Vogt pushes into new territories under his new Mias Void guise, Matthias sees this alias as a chance to express a new, more experimental side of his productions, yet keeping the MV initials to maintain a lock between the distinctions. With releases pinned down for Polytone, Lo:Rise and Fullbarr already, this new sound will undoubtedly be as well received as his deeper explorations. The release opens with title track 'Tactics' here, a dubbed-out, ethereal Techno cut, soaked in subtle intricacies and grit. Void keeps the tempo low but energy high, as earth-shattering drums paint the bigger picture, soft, evolving pads ease in to the record, steadily blooming before the latter stages see things stripped to a raw drum and bass driven state. 'Believer' steps up next, a punchy analogue workout, driven by weighty drums, hypnotic arp-lines and sharp percussive elements. Void rides out the hooky arpeggiated groove throughout the tracks near seven-minute duration, easing in a variety of cosseting pad lines, bright synth stabs and processed organs to meander around the foundations beautifully. To close the release Teng have enlisted the services of Gomma artists, The Barking Dogs on remix duties. The Italian duo reshape 'Tactics' into a skippy, broken-beat interpretation with their dusty analogue production style. The mix is tastefully contrasting to the original and adds a further appeal to an already phenomenal release. The mix has a live feel throughout as the dynamics consistently falter and elements creep in and out sporadically. As expected from the fledgling Teng imprint, this is yet another intelligent electronic music release.

London based imprint Teng launch this July with the fantastic ‘AKRASounds Vol.1’ by Nick Woolfson aka AKRA including a remix from Neville Watson. Nick Woolfson, as one half of Mock & Toof has built a reputation for producing quality underground deep house and nu--disco, releasing with the likes of Mule Musiq, DFA and Tiny Sticks / M&T, as well as remixing reputable artists such as Scissor Sisters, Groove Armada, Zero 7, Hot Chip and Ladyhawke. Now Woolfson moves into techno territory with this new side project as AKRA. Opening track ‘Black Sands’ utilizes skippy, broken percussion and a subtle bass line that warbles softly in the background yet adds a substantial amount of low--end depth. The melodic aesthetics take on Detroit influences with cavernous reverbs on moody pads and an eight note hooky stab sequence. Sporadic claps creep in to further fuel the drum shuffle adding a trippy edge.
British Techno artist Neville Watson steps in to rework B--Side, ‘Dust To Dirt’, employing his intensive analogue workout to the composition. From the off the drums scream power with punchy kicks, crispy claps and rolling hats leading the way, while a flourishing delayed synth adds a further sense of excitement as the track builds. Watson manages to completely transform the feel of the original yet maintains enough of the original vibe to make it instantly recognisable as a remix. As with all his works there is an underlying sense of wisdom and experience attached that add another number to his consistently outstanding melancholic productions. ‘Dust To Dirt’ closes the release, a pulsating techno track driven by resonant base notes and a fluttering synth. A simple sturdy drum pattern eases things along while the melodic elements carry its weight. AKRA builds on the progressive hook with modulation and filter rises to create an ever--evolving movement throughout. AKRA delivers music with style and inspiring expression, AKRASounds Vol.1 is sure to grab some attention amongst lovers of deep ethereal techno
