Landing on the 4th of September via his own imprint Knee Deep In Sound, ‘Obsessions’ is less a traditional dance record and more a reckoning — with where Daley Padley finds himself now, as an artist and as a person. Written across a period of constant movement, touring and introspection, the album holds the push and pull between intensity and stillness that has come to define his world.
This is an artist who started making music in Barnsley — long nights, small rooms, total commitment to sound. Those early marathon sets weren’t a stepping stone to something else. They were the foundation of everything that followed: global tours, chart success, the creation of Knee Deep In Sound, a career built entirely on instinct rather than expectation. Hot Since 82 has never followed a fixed path. He’s carved out a space that sits somewhere between underground credibility and global reach — and it’s that same restless, uncompromising approach that shaped this album.
“Some days feel heavier, some thoughts harder to hold. But music still reaches the places words can’t. It’s therapy and a reset button.”
That sense of release runs through the entire record. While rooted in house music, Obsessions doesn’t sit in one place for long — not to prove a point, but because that’s simply how Padley hears music. It moves between deep house, breakbeat, melodic electronica and full club focus as naturally as a conversation shifts tone. Moments of euphoria give way to reflection and tensions dissolves into release.
The album opens with ‘All That Matters’ — a track that feels immediately both expansive and intimate and sets the emotional register for everything that follows. From there it unfolds like a journey rather than a sequence.
Lead single ‘Shaded’, landing on the 12th June taps directly into classic house lineage while feeling unmistakably current — a bridge between where this music began and where it’s heading. Elsewhere, ‘Life’s Too Short’ and ‘Eternity’ introduce warmth and movement, weaving piano, breakbeat and subtle Afro influences into the album’s wider palette.
As the record progresses, the light changes. ‘Wow’ leans into darker, late-night territory — tension, restraint, a hypnotic centre. The collaborations with Kuuda on ‘State Of Mind’ and ‘Time’ bring the album back into full club focus: driving, physical, built for scale.

TRACKLISTING:
A1: Kiwi - Rabbit Hole (Feat. Cactus Sauna) , A2: Kiwi - Rabbit Hole (Lord of the Isles Reshape)
B1: Kiwi - Rabbit Hole (Willie Burns Remix) , B2: Kiwi - Rabbit Hole (Willie Burns DJ Tool)
White label with hand-stamped tracklist
OVERVIEW:
In a world over easy-come-easy-go overnight success stories, artists like Kiwi are a rare find. Steadily refining his skills as a DJ and producer since the mid 00's, whilst amassing a back-catalogue with labels such as Optimo, Disco Halal and Futureboogie, his trajectory encompasses an eclectic range of influences, making him something of a sonic wild card. With shards of disco, techno and fuzzy electronica always present, it's seems fully logical that he can count the likes of Erol Alkan, Andrew Weatherall and DJ Harvey as fans.
Now, making his debut on Moda Black, Kiwi delivers a surreal trip that balances raw energy with e-moment goosebumps, perfectly backed up by remixes from cult favourites Lord of the Isles and Willie Burns

Jaymo & Andy George's Moda Black present Futurists, a double vinyl collection of forward thinking, underground artists including Sidney Charles, REbEL & Twon, Dudley Strangeways, Fauvrelle, Elias Tzikas, Roberto Palmero, Javi Bora & Le Vinyl and Lrusse & Bleecker. Fuelled by Jay and Andy's unquenchable thirst for new music, Futurists is, in their words, "a chance to shine the spotlight on some really creative new school producers who are making music for all the right reasons - they're doing things their own way and they're doing it with passion and soul". Sidney Charles sets the tone with the bass heavy groove of "Vibe", whilst this release also sees the newly formed duo REbEL & Twon shine with "Itchy Fingaz". Long term Moda affiliate Dudley Strangeways has previously impressed with releases on Klasse, Holic Trax and Albion Records and does so once more with the robust UK House stylings of "Call Girl". Be sure to check "Hats And Nuts" from Lrusse & Bleecker, the recently formed alias of Behling & Simpson which caps off this fine collection!

One is formerly the front man of a notorious Glaswegian punk band, the other a meticulously precise studio guru with creative flair way beyond the majority. As solo artists they're a formidable force, as a collective they're quite simply one of the most exciting new acts in the UK right now. Refusing to rush, they spend countless hours trying ideas, searching for samples, tuning percussion and tweaking sounds. For every Mia Dora track that sees the light of day, there are 100 that don't. This isn't throwaway club music for the internet generation, it's soulful, thoughtful and emotive music by two producers fuelled by an intrinsic need to give life to the sounds in their heads. 'Clear' is a shivering end-of-the-night song that achieves fullness through the sonic refinement of each and every sound within it. Simple but insanely effective, we believe this is a true modern day classic that will sound as good in 10 years time as it does today. On remix duties Get Physical top dog DJ T stays true to the original, plumping the sub frequencies for a more club-focused rework, whilst Jaymo & Andy George deliver a low-slung version filled with twisted vocal effects and orchestral strings.
