Pupkulies & Rebecca joined forces with African singer and guitarist Tibau Tavares to deliver this exotic groove cocktail full stomping rhythms, sparkling chords and catchy vocals. The title Saude puts in a nutshell all the elements that make the gigs of the trio a rousing listening experience full of exciting twists and turns. These elements draw their power from both the energetic live feeling of a band and the dance floor boost of electronic beats. A mixture that is obviously very compatible with the musical approach of Eule:nhaupt & Molle:nhauer. The tropical drums and samba whistles of their remix are a perfect match for the striking vocals of the original version, adding a proper dose of floorward drive. This principle is reduced to the maximum in an additional Radio-Version. Also there is a Mollono.Bass remix that embeds the cloudless mood of Saude into a perfidious groove understatement.

Pupkulies & Rebecca - 2. Au Board De La Mer
Tracklist CD/LP: 1. One 2. Au Board De La Mer 3. Florist 4.Pieces 5. Roskilde 6. Back In Time 7. Wonderful 8. Letting Go 9. The Beginning
For Rebecca Blaul, Janosch Blaul, and Sepp Singwald it was clear their band had reached its final days... until it hadn't. The electro trio came to combine their creative energies again during their stay on the Danish seaboard to now release their sixth album: "Bente".
2013-14 were marked by the sheer intensity of the production of the album "Tibau" on the Cape Verde Islands and of the more than 120 concerts all across Europe, leading the band to believe their energy was depleted. Touring felt exhausting, new song ideas sounded boring, and other interests became... well... more interesting. Rebecca went for developing her piano skills, while Janosch pursued his love of woodwork, and Sepp traveled the world with Nils Frahm. Nevertheless their fan community grew rather than dwindled, and persistent invitations from several promoters over the years managed to bring them, time and again, back on stage together. The sporadic nature of their gigs meant a loss of routine, yet which for its part translated to a new found excitement and energy for playing together.
"Shall we give it another go? In June '19 we've got two weeks... Sepp and Nils Frahm are at the Elbphilharmonie just before, Denmark is not far off, near Roskilde, on the Baltic Sea Bente rents out a lovely vacation home there... booked! Two cars packed to the brim with old school analog synthesizers, a variety of instruments, the kids, the babysitter... All set? Off we go!"
No master plan, no grand expectations... two clearly audible components in "Bente", bringing in a light feeling of spontaneity to a beautiful, solid amalgamation.
Initially it seems more like the early work of a band rather than the sixth album of some 30-somethings. The distance gained brought back a certain amount of naïveté to music making, complemented by the musicians solid, combined experience leading to the creation of unique compositions... light, yet more complex, dense sound, lighter voice, relaxed production - qualities which can be heard and felt in the music.
These nine songs were produced in a small, 60s style bungalow on a park-like property between dunes and lagoons. Analog electronic song writing, intentionally compact songs, warm, powerful sounds, dadaist vocals... Pupkulies and Rebecca is back! Back with music, fun, depth... enjoy!

Short info:
Pupkulies & Rebecca, a three person musical collective whose members Janosch and Rebecca Blaul as well as Sepp Singwald reside in Würzburg and Berlin have developed into a veritable force in the European club scene due to their recent releases and largely through word of mouth. They have gained a firm foothold in the electro scene due to numerous live gigs throughout Europe, remix of their songs from notable artists like Masomenos, Marek Hemann and Guti and also remix requests from artists including AKA AKA und Oliver Schories. Their healthy mixture of electronic and acoustic sounds draws on influences that go back to the dawn of time revealing them for audible perception. Doing so they enrobe chanson and folk in more modern attire and sensitively combine these music styles with pulsing synthesizer bass lines, house grooves and the aesthetic of modern club music. With their new project the African continent has been incorporated in the form of the West African archipelago the Cape Verde islands where the musical roots as well as the native Portuguese based Creole language are explored. On their new Album "Tibau" to be released by normoton on the 04.10.2013 Pupkulies & Rebecca combine their own method of approach with the traditional Cape Verdian singer songwriter approach. Janosch Blaul grew up on the Cape Verde islands where his parents worked as development aids and his connection to the islands is strong to this day. The connection pertains especially to Tibau Tavares a singer songwriter who became a member of Pupkulies & Rebecca for this album. The interplay between the two differing musical worlds combined perfectly when the collective complete with recording equipment and instruments visited Tibau Tavares in his home town for four weeks of which "Tibau" is the audible proof. An energy loaded pop album which dares the balancing act between modern club and traditional world music while still maintaining a unique identity. Rebecca and Tibau who equally share the vocals give the impression that they are a long time experienced duo. The synthy landscapes and bass tracks from Sepp Singwald build a counterpart to Tibaus acoustic guitar and bestow the album with a modern sound aesthetic without deriving from the source of the song. It´s all held together by Janosch Blauls arrangements and percussions which originate mainly from field recordings from the Cape Verde islands giving the songs the typical Pupkulies & Rebecca club character. The album is rightly named "Tibau" because the influence of Tibau Tavares is significant and omnipresent. He has already made a name for himself in the Cape Verde music scene with artists like Lura, Gabriela Mendes.

Since the last studio album from Pupkulies & Rebecca three years have past in which things have gathered momentum and gained a life of their own. Countless concerts in renowned clubs throughout Europe were held resulting in an ever growing, snowballing fan basis. A certain hype has arisen around the band occurring totally organically without being triggered by the press, self generating and in real time. The recent years have shown that Pupkulies & Rebecca have an appeal which covers all age groups, territories and scenes. They are no longer in a niche, their path appears to be destined, up till now there have been no curves but the speed is increasing.
This is proven by their fourth long awaited album "looking for the sea", undoubtedly Pupkulies & Rebeccas' most matured to date. As with their second album the current album was recorded mainly in the south of France. Ingredients and recipe are the same as their previous albums. The main thread is house, not in the traditional American sense but in a more European version. Not Chicago but Paris and Berlin are to be heard. Eurovision in the true context without the contest. The songs are sung in English and French. They are more chansons than tracks. Yes, Chansons are an appropriate description. Chansons have heart and this exactly is what they want to move and if they also inspire to dance then even better. There is no coolness and functionality to be found here, moreover warmth and unbridled joy for music. High hats out of rustling leaves, old synth legends, an organetta from the flea market, each sound is chosen carefully so that it has room to breath and becomes a part of the greater. "Looking for the sea" is a multifaceted, varied and fascinating album which makes it easy for one to hear and immediately understand. Influences of different styles can be heard and a childish openness is apparent. Pupkulies & Rebecca show how beauteous pop music can be.
According to the name they are a duo but in reality they are a trio. Sepp Singwald, an all rounder from the Berlin Indie scene, has been a band member since 4 years. An increase in the acoustic elements is witness to his influence. Various keyboard and string instruments contributed by Sepp haven't changed the direction of the songs but support them evidently in exactly the right spot. This influence is most important for the work on which Janosch Blaul alias Pupkulies together with his now wife Rebecca have been working on for the past 6 years. Janosch Blaul is still the man in control and his contribution is decisive. Together with Sepp Singwald he has created a finely woven tapestry of sounds full of colourful patterns perfectly tailored for Rebeccas voice. Her vocals cause the tapestry to float, light and weightless.

Remastered 3x12" marbled Vinyl!
Kombinat 100, the suspiciously band-like live act from northern shores, are set to unleash their eagerly awaited debut album ‚Wege Übers Land’ (ways across the land). Here, everything we know and love about these notorious dancefloor smashers reemerges from the studio, squeaky clean and freshly rinsed, polished and arranged. An irresistible retrospective of Kombinat 100’s countless live gigs, there is no other way this album could have come about: All of the four Mecklenburgers’ tracks have their origins on stage. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself moshing along from beginning to end! Kombinat100’s eclectic mix and match of influences touches on more genres than you could possibly think of, from techno, house, dub and pop to jazz and beyond, interspersed with plenty of lovingly crafted moments of homemade bliss. And it is precisely those moments, when the boys reach for their acoustic sidekicks, from accordion and melodica to congas and hammond organ, that our hearts miss a beat. Unafraid to flaunt grand emotions, melancholic opener ‚Flieg kleine Taube’ (fly away, dove’) and the sun-drenched sounds of ‘Hanne Nüte’ meet their match in the rocking grooves of ‘Out Of My Space’. In-between, the boys invariably return to their gig-inspired dancefloor roots – ‘Woterfitz’, ‘Del Maritim’ and ‘Der Pomel’ are set to move your heart, feet and mind. So, finally: a breath of fresh, Open Air for your living room! More
Kombinat 100, the suspiciously band-like live act from northern shores, are set to unleash their eagerly awaited debut album ‚Wege Übers Land’ (ways across the land). Acker 52 sounds like an Indiana Jones themed pinball machine. The listener is the ball that shoots through the rhythmically clicking labyrinth of the apparatus. The rich bass lines act as the electromechanically controlled levers, the flippers that accelerate it and keep it going. The percussion is the spring-loaded mechanism that re-directs it to ever new levels. This exciting pinball game as accompanied by ethereal singing and mirage-like violin play that waft through the hot air of the desert. With a variety of remixes this release makes a perfect match for many different moments of a party.

Prince of Persia sound from the big city: The dusty twilight of day and night sets the atmospheric backdrop for the dreamlike groove visions of Berlin based producer Zigan Aldi. The track “Blue Hill” combines a compelling bassline with the enigmatic sound of a string instrument that seems to originate straight from the parallel World of 1001 Nights. “Rosa Martha” starts as a stripped-down rhythm tool with a rather dark vibe which then contrasts beautifully with a hint of warm House music bubbling up from the depths towards the middle of the track. Mollono.Bass and Pophop dedicate their remixes to the uplifting side of things, and the digital version provides two more exciting adventure stories for dance floor explorers.

The mix of Dub and Techno is not exactly new. However, JPatterson found a way to combine these genres in a way that checks all the boxes to be classified as fresh and exciting. His rustic Prog-a-Dub grooves burst with reckless danceability, the sound of his tumpet has an emotional intensity that simply doesn’t exist in the digital music domain. But the catchiest element of his track Elevator is yet another one: It’s his voice and its contagious casualness. The Dub Version of this track is a bright summer day turned into rhythm and melody. It gets even more exciting than this, as a hand-selected group of party heads from the Acker family has remixed Elevator. Timboletti turned it into a slow, delirious afterhour groove (digital only). Dole & Kom redesigned it into an understated anthem. And Mollono.Bass created an energetic rhythm environment for the weightless trombone that feels like it’s vibrating right in middle between the original and the Dub Version of Elevator.

EVERY DOG HAS THAT CERTAIN SPOT: YOU SCRATCH IT, AND YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND STARTS KICKING OUT IN HIGHEST ECSTASY, LOSING ALL CONTROL OF HIS REFLEXES. THE TUNES OF TIMBOLETTI WORK PRETTY MUCH LIKE THAT. ONLY HE'S USING FULL-BODIED BASS LINES TO STIMULATE HIS AUDIENCE. IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE THE BODIES ON THE DANCEFLOOR GET INVISIBLY CONNECTED TO THE MEMBRANES OF THE SPEAKERS AND THEIR RHYTHMIC MOVEMENT. ON TOP OF THAT, TIMBOLETTI EMPLOYS PSYCHELICIOUS SOUNDS AND MELODIES, ENCHANTED SAMPLE SCRAPS AND A PINCH OF ACID – A COCKTAIL THAT TICKLES THROUGH THE BRAIN OF THE LISTENER AS IF SOMEBODY POURED A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE INTO IT. THE ESSENCE OF FORWARD THRUST AND DEEPNESS, ON THIS EP IN FIVE DIFFERENT VARIATIONS AND TREE FURTHER REMIXES.

Listening to the sound of Konfetti Klub Ensemble creates associations of those sparkling drops that run down the side of an ice cold drink on hot summer days. It's a very refreshing and delicious listening experience, it's both stimulating and soothing. If you think the formula brass players + club groove is somewhat worn-out, you will be pleasantly surprised. Pomelo comes with bouncy offbeat rhythms, and when the trombone hits in there's clearly an air of Balkan sound. However, around the middle of the track it turns into a joyful freestyle session. Mollono.Bass puts a bit more emphasis on beats, bass and pressure in his version, in other words: Even a bit more emphasis on the dance floor. Rotwein Und Sommerverbot gives a groovy hint why Konfetti Klub Ensemble describe their sound as Live Brass House – it's extremely jazzy and casual, a live session rather than a programmed arrangement. Even more so Schwankel, as it vibrates effortlessly between intricate musical deepness and sheer to-the-floor euphoria. Last but not least there is a track exclusively for the digital release: Stranddub – Beach Dub. Let's put it like that: There's a damn good party happing at this beach.

Seth Schwarz has multiple backgrounds. One the one side there is his life-long passion for classical music. On the other side, there is his enthusiasm for driving club grooves. And in the middle, there is a style that is simply unique. Combining highly sophisticated composition techniques with banging kick drums and whipping hi-hats, his impact on the dance floor is truly symphonic. That's what Elysium is all about: Efficient rhythms meet intricate instrumentations, seamlessly sewn together by the virtuous violin play of Seth Schwarz. The intense harmony of this title is a perfect match for Mollono.Bass who fills his hypnotic remix with jangling sound fragments before they eventually add up to the symphonic dimensions of the original. The Canooby Tune on the flipside of this record gives full expression to the open-minded character of Seth Schwarz, featuring a jazzy double bass, a bouncy piano, and broken beat textures. Last but not least the gentlemen Dole & Kom turn this vivid jam session into a trembling dose of floorward pressure.

With remarkably smooth skills MADMOTORMIQUEL threads his audio tracks through genres and stilistic hints, creating harmonic coherence from elements that seem to be contrary. For instance Hip Hop and floorward boosting dance music: In Daddy Are You Proud the producer from Berlin spreads jazzy piano samples and poetic rap among a booming bass line and whipping hi hats. Rather than focusing on the vocal, Mollono.Bass follows the synthesizer line from the accoustic background of the original... a journey that leads him straight into mind-boggling melodic depths. The atmospheric dynamics of Recall evolve as a result of rhythmic chain reactions in the lower and upper frequency spectrum, diffusig into the twilight of dramatic pad sounds. Last but not least there is the playful irony of Too Much Money Not Enough Style, a beautiful contrast between a dreamy piano and bubbling beats. Catchy grooves from a mesmerizing world in between styles!

Dan Morrow, singer of Funkwerkstatt, goes his own way. To where? To a world of music with a high atmospheric density that oscillates between uplifting elements from Pop, Electronics and profound melancholy. It is classic songs which he delivers under the name "i Am Halo". Rhythms and melodies crystallize around the brilliant texture of his expressive voice. The dynamic of his music is sometimes danceable, sometimes laid-back, sometimes supported by orchestral motives, sometimes by electronic beats and samples, but always there is an incredible emotional intensity. After all, "i Am Halo" is not completely on his own. The Micronaut presents a remix of Little Planet that comes with his signature jazzy style, its beats rumbling and shuffling before hitting the sweet spot just in time. Gluid mixes the floating melancholy of the track Not Invented with straight beats and boosts the symphonic atmosphere of the original straight onto the dance floor by doing so. Finally Mollono.Bass carefully extracts the sunniest, most friendly aspects of Oueen Of Queens and creates a relaxed party track.

Music like the thousandfold sparkle of the sun setting over sea. Music like the warm breeze of a summer night. Music like the scent of charcoal and barbeque drifting by. With catalogue number 40 Acker Records reaches the ultimate height of summer. The carefree bliss of this very special time of the year has been set to music by Robot Needs Oil. The mellow groove of Little Leo sends dreamy chanting and weightless instrument sounds up into a perfectly cloudless sky. Cherry keeps up the warm and sunny vibe, the charismatic singing of Sambor and laid-back guitar play lend to this title the feeling of a classic song – and a lot of catchiness. A lot of dance floor energy is created by Mollono.Bass who completes this EP with two remixes. Both keep the distinct summer mood of the original versions, but move it rhythmically to the boiling point of a sunlit open air party.

It can be bright and friendly even down in the depths of hypnotism, as proven once again by Marcus Sur. The melodic catchiness of his productions vibrates somewhere between Deep House and Dub Techno, taking the best of both worlds to yet another level. There is a very warm and organic feeling to this music that dominates the prevailing mood of all the tracks. The minimal but heady tune of The World In Small Doses rings and throbs from a multitude of acoustic dimensions. The Masquerade is full of subliminal drama and perfidious complexity. Whereas The Lessons are dominated by the dreamy voice of singer Ann Jasmund that expands over a heaving patchwork of warm harmony. Some of the weightless piano and synthesizer chords from Magnetic Ribbons got stuck between the percussive rhythms of Mollono.Bass and are taken away to his wondrous universe of sound. The original version with its playful bass line is included as a bonus on the digital version. Easily digestible yet very powerful and stimulating – just like good music for the summer should be!

The bliss of ignorance... presented in 3 electronic remixes, 3 highly danceable anthems for all hedonists. Their basic idea is a German-Spanish song by Illute. In Viva La Ignorancia she reminds the listener that it is not always necessary to know about all the details. This title, originally released on LasVegas Records, comes with the organic sound of wind players, with vivacious guitars, and with hand-made rhythms. Quite obviously this mixture is a perfect match for the Acker crew. So Mollono.Bass had a classic jam session with Illute's band. The result is an intriguing melange of verses, refrains, and catchy electronic grooves. His instrumental version has everything it takes to become a hit even without the vocal part: He takes the listener on a ride to his wonderland of bubbling bass lines, bouncy delays, and playful filter modulations. Last but not least also dingdongdilly, a duo from Berlin, manages to create a seamless connection of song structure, crunchy beats, and high-octane club boost.

A summer titbit for groove connoisseurs, a tongue-in-cheek provocation for pigeon-holers: Rene Bourgeois spreads out a minimal, yet inspiring and elegant rhythm to dance to it. However, what happens next is much more a classic song: Elke Brauweiler enchants the listener with her lovely, dreamy singing which creates the actual atmosphere of "Je Danse". Not to forget about the cheerful lead melody, plonking somewhere between elevator music and a movie score. Mollono.Bass unpacks his organic percussion repertoire and discreetly nudges the original atmosphere towards rhythmic entertainment. Last but not least, the "Deep in the Club Mix" by Dan Caster and Rene Bourgeois lives up to all expectations you might have from a track bearing that kind of name: Irresistible groove, hypnotic atmosphere and long, dramatic built-up.
