Working together in person has been an important point in Cavaan's collaborations lately - much preferring the human interaction and local landscapes over the soulless exchange of sound files over the Internet. With this point taken care of, the two Cavaan guys struck out in a Berlin, Heidelberg and Venice studio. While the awesomeness of the cities kept the team quiet the landscape nonetheless teamed with sounds. The resulting "Liquid Nights" traces a groovy path of the days with canals, castles and a giant TV tower around an equally phat sound set fronted by a moog bass. Bells, sticks, melodica, and the occasional analog synthesizer form the sonic backdrop echoing the quiet, but lively sounds of the EP. Cavaan is the alter ego of a rather well known berlin producer and his fellow from milan. The duo debuts with their very much loved project. They feature a studio-recorded wonderful vocal on this hypnotically modern percussive house affair titled "BLACK SNOW". The original track grooves on some free swinging retro percussions and beats from the 80's machinery and a softly moving house-beat making this a very subtle killer for any dancefloor. While the vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical - you will hear yourself while listening the melodies and sequences. For the remixes TURDJR has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of a current top producer. One of Heidelberg's coolest kids on the block, LOPAZZ knows that every track gets better with a lot of handmade music-and he sure is right in his interpretation of "BLACK SNOW".
