kyodai - "You Know It"
2
kyodai - "Times Fly"
After 1 good year of hiatus & celebrating its 6th year in the game, Room With A View is back in full effect with a very special 3 tracker by Kyodai, a duo that has been gathering serious momentum after highly celebrated releases on Local Talk, Exploited, Freerange or Pokerflat to name a few. The famous brother pair has proven to be working hard in the last years recording, remixing & touring extensively. Reknown for their energitic live performances & to have deliver tracks & remixes that have been played by the Who's who of the global House scene, Kyodai have decided to choose RWAV to deliver some very personal tracks. In 2013 already, they appeared on our label with the uplifting "What You Give" that became on of the key tracks of the live sets of the last 2 years. Enjoying a long 15 years friendship with Dairmount and a common love of hybrid tracks loaded of musicality, Javi & Luis decided to lock themselves in studio last winter inspired by the idea to be the artist chosen to relaunch the label in 2015. The title Times Fly symbolises the longevity of friends that went through 2 decades of creation & exchange. And the result has been as surprising as the pair shaped up a very hypnotic & tribal red line with these new tunes. The title track "Times Fly" has been recorded in a few hours on a full moon night in their berlin studio, managing to induce a perfect balance of melancholy & tribal rhythms. Quite different of their usual sound signature, the track got everything to conquer the hearts of many different dj's & listeners this summer. "Sacred Ritual" is born of the idea of creating a special tool for Panorama Bar (where the pair just played before their studio time in january) and focusing on the power of drums & percussions. Finally, "You Know It" is reminiscent of their classic Kyodai sound epitomised by their hit Breaking with filtered basslines & catchy samples. The track has been one of the big crowd pleasers of their recent live sets

Kyodai, - The Scene
2
Kyodai, - Moving (Breaking Part 2)
Last year Kyodai dropped Breaking, which to date is the biggest selling release on Local Talk. Now the brothers are back with in our opinion a future house anthem. The Scene is a classic piano house cut that’s impossible to resist and together with one the coolest vocal samples we’ve ever heard we think this has the potential to go really big. When the breakdown drops we’re pretty sure everybody in the club will chant. But as if this was not enough we also got another big tune on the b-side. Moving is the continuation of “Breaking” and goes along the same lines with its crossover jazz styled house. Once again Kyodai delivers a supa solid house production with large jazz breakdowns and old school vocals that’s right up their with ”Breaking”. This is also why we called it...Breaking pt.2. Kyodai is currently working on their debut album for Local Talk which is due later this year. They’re also travelling around the world with their amazing live DJ set that we highly recommend. Trust us when we say that these two brothers really now how to turn up the heat in a club...serious biz!

Kyodai have had a strong run of releases since their debut here on Freerange last year. Their Mi Rumba EP must have impressed a lot of people as they went on to release a follow up EP for Mad Mats blossoming Local Talk label and also have an EP due on Pokerflat in the coming weeks. Kerri Chandler dug it enough to include on his RA podcast and it was also picked up for the Cielo Compilation on Nervous. La Luz kicks off this release with a Brazilian rhythm known as Candomblé laying the foundation of the groove. The opening section builds with warped LFO rhodes
pads and tripped out FX adding colour until the middle breakdown where a snaking synth bass enters and continues to twist and turn throughout the remainder of the track. A perfect example of high impact deep house which is just about the most succinct way to describe the Kyodai style.
Next up we have My Thing, treading deeper waters with a slower tempo and focusing on a simple chiming chord progression. Perfect moodsetting club music for those rocking the slow build. Finally we have Chopstick & Johnjon onboard for the remix. Hot from their incredible Versions EP on Suol, their track Listen was absolutely everywhere this summer and rightly so, with it’s accessible vocal yet deep, slow and underground approach. The Berlin based duo opt for a similar sound on their remix, injecting some serious funk through use of live bass samples and loose, disco drum groove. Their all-analogue mixing through an SSL desk ensures their sound glows warm, pumps hard and has a unique character which rounds off the EP perfectly.
