Steve Lawler - Crazy Dream (Djs Pareja Remix)
Tracklist
A1 Original Mix, A2 Jori Hulkkonen Remix
B1 Charlotte de Witte Remix , B2 DJs Pareja Remix
When Steve Lawler first sent us "Crazy Dream," he told us that he had made the record "specifically with Turbo in mind," thus sending us on a quasi-lucid journey down a rabbit hole of self-discovery from which we have only recently emerged.
Most labels would simply talk up a nuts-to-the-wall floor-filler with a killer "White Horse" bassline from an acid house legend and be done with it, but the fact remains that if we forgo an opportunity to learn more about ourselves as dance music imprint, we are doing our fans a disservice whether they could possibly be expected to realize it or not.
We hired a board-licensed Forensic Poet to parse the track's lyrical references to nothing being "quite as it seems," "feeling naked and confused," and rising above "the push and shove." What was he trying to tell us? The poet assured us that all it meant was that Lawler admires Turbo and thought the track would be a good fit, and that we should put our clothes back on, wipe the confused looks from our faces, and stop pushing and shoving one another because everything was exactly as it seemed. We paid him his $25 and did as we were told.
For the remixes, we took a track made especially for us and enlisted a diverse cast of Turbo All-Stars to spin it into a release for everyone, a proprietary practice we call "Human Alchemy: The Future of Generosity™." Finland's Jori Hulkkonen, Belgium's Charlotte de Witte, and Argentina's DJs Pareja trace a beautiful global triangle for lovers of acid bangers, stripped-down techno, and tripped-out weirdness, respectively. At Turbo, giving party people what they need is more than just a crazy dream. It's a crazy reality.

steve lawler - Call Of The Cuckoo
2
steve lawler - Can't Stop
Steve Lawler has been at the top of his game for close to two decade now having been DJ’ing in Ibiza, London and further afield since the mid 90’s, 2006 saw the launch of his ViVA Music imprint, which over the years has welcomed many of today’s tastemakers onto the roster. To date Steve retains a heavy touring and release schedule, with his ViVa Warriors brand spanning the globe and regular output coming via leading imprints in the industry like Hot Creations, where he delivered the ‘House Record’ EP in 2014 and here he adds another driving force to his affiliations, namely Leftroom. Title cut ‘Call Of The Cuckoo’ opens up the two tracker and in typical Steve Lawler fashion we’re treated to an amalgamation of rugged bass tones, penetrative, unfolding drum programming and cleverly chopped vocals. The end result is a powerful dance floor cut as you’d expect from such a seasoned producer. On the flip side Lawler offers up ‘Can’t Stop’, which lays its focus on a heavily swung drum groove, chuggy bass sequences and wandering arpeggio licks to round things off on a raw, up-tempo tip.

steve lawler - City Nights
Hot Creations call upon VIVa boss Steve Lawler for their next release, rounding 2014 off with a bang - an amazing year for the leading label. With such a widespread knowledge of music and the industry, here Lawler gives us a musical education. ‘House Record’ is a dose of old school 80s house injected with a modern twist with ‘City Nights’ following suit on the B-side. There is no doubt both tracks will dominate the dance floor at peak time, capturing each heart with their infectious bouncing bass-lines, pacey percussions and all round feel good energy. This is proving to be a huge release for Hot Creations and Steve, featuring heavily in Jamie, Richy, Lee and Steve’s set’s… this is seriously HOT! Steve’s music can be found on highly respected labels such as R&S Record, Drumcode, Cocoon, OVUM, Rekids, Soma, and of course his own imprint VIVa MUSiC. He also has a huge release dropping on Seth Troxler’s Play It Say It at the end of this year. Remixes of high pro?le artists such as Jamelia, Dido and Justin Timberlake can also be found. Head of the respected VIVa MUSiC, Lawler founded the label in 2006 and has featured artists such as Reboot, Jamie Jones, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Bushwacka, Plasmik, Ripperton, Peace Division, Tiefschwarz and many more.

steve lawler - That's House
2
steve lawler - Most Beautiful Girl
The UK's Steve Lawler is undoubtedly a name heavily stitched into the fabric of global club culture. A child of the acid house generation, Steve has always been embedded in a scene of his own making and as an artist, has consistently defied trends and genre with an unwavering passion for the whole electronic spectrum. His next release for Seth Troxler's imprint Play It Say It is no different. Serving up a classic journey into straight up house, 'That's House' is an ode to the elemental structures of a groove that simply makes your body move. An old school bass line underpins the evolving sound bed that weaves a tangle of rhythms and sounds into bubbling acid lines. A spoken sample throughout invites the dancer to 'get on down' the message is simple, the hook undeniable. Bside 'Most Beautiful Girl' has a more electronic edge but just as much swing. Powerful divine organ melodies and full-bodied beats make this one primed for the peak time

Steve Lawler, - Venerate
The name "Venerate" says it all: It's an absolute honor for us to be able to present the music of Steve Lawler. A native of England with a huge fan base in Ibiza - where his label VIVa MUSIC is based - and beyond, he sent us two tracks that reflect his unmistakable merits as a DJ and producer, and along with them, the spirit of English clubbers at sweaty, off-location afterhours, gleefully losing track of time. "Caracas", much like the EP's title track "Venerate", is designed to tickle restless knees with life-affirming vigor. Complemented by remixes for each track from our Upon You mastermind Marco Resmann, who kept busy on a laptop during his extended trip to South America, this is the most international release from our Berlin-based headquarters to date.

robert james - Feel That Way
Hot Creations favourite Robert James makes his debut on VIVa with three original tracks and heavyweights Groove Armada are onboard to deliver ‘Terrace’ and ‘Dub’ remixes. ‘Seagate’ captures the energy of the sunshine with licking hi-hats, rolling grooves and unforgettable vocals. The feel-good ‘House Invader’ rides a swinging bassline and sharp kick, while Groove Armada’s ‘Terrace Mix’ strips solid percussion into a dramatic synth affair, and a digital ‘Dub Mix’ is also on the agenda. On his third original production, Robert James delivers more sonic bassline action with ‘Feel That Way’. First surfacing amidst a new wave of talent on Lee Foss and Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, Robert James has gone on to DJ at hot-spots all over the globe as well as release on labels like Culprit, Saved, Silver Network and the legendary Strictly Rhythm. He also holds a highly honoured residency at Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC10. Formed in the mid 1990s, diverse duo Groove Armada has had numerous chart successes. Recently they held a residency on BBC 6 Music’s 6 Mix and this summer sees a new album / remix album dropping on Moda Black.
