Samoyed kicks off Vase's 2013 with two undeniably brave tracks and a change in direction for the hyped producer. Breaking into new territory for the U.K artist he kicks off with 'Sloe Eyes', an percussive builder of a track with rave stabs and a brilliant catchy vocal hook. Utilizing his brilliant use of the ethereal he keeps the club edge on this track emotional and heartfelt. The B-side 'Guts' starts with a hypnotizing vocal loop that slowly transcends into almost Autechre territory but with an ear for African house on the drums. DJ support comes from Hudson Mohawke, Pearson Sound, Krystal Klear and Benji B. Samoyed starts 2013 with a bang.

Hailing from the highlands of Scotland, Samoyed released the Spit EP on the Astro:Dynamics label in late 2011 - preceeding much praised 12"s for Lukid's GLUM label and Jacques Greene's Vase. Featuring 3 original tracks along with a remix from Lukid, this EP fuses the textural beatlessness of Samoyed's Always from this Point album (quietly released on his DIY 'Flask' label back in 2008) whilst preempting his more recent forays into stripped back house and techno, whilst also incorporating an altogether new element into the mix - his own vocals. Rounding off the record is a remix from Luke Blair aka Lukid. Having released 3 fantastic albums on Actress's Werk Discs label, and being involved in the mysterious 'Thriller' project, Lukid has also been making ears prick up of late via the mutant house sounds of his recent records for the GLUM imprint. Tackling Maybe Yes Lukid reconstructs the rhythm into a drive straight and driving pulse, whilst euphoric pads and vocal snips combine with the overdriven soundscape of the original to come across like re-edit of a golden era hardcore/jungle track.

ndrew Samoyed used to be such a nice young man. When he wasn't wearing lovely jumpers or impressing people's mothers, he was toying with his synthetic pianos and computer chips to create ambient heartbreakers that could reduce your most unresponsive uncle to a snivelling mess. Imagine everyone's surprise then, when sometime after the release of his 2007 debut 'Always From This Point', without warning or reason, the famed Samoyed eye-glint started to cloud over. As much as everyone tried to fool themselves otherwise, something had gone horribly wrong in the young Geordie's mind-brain. His jaw was now so permanently clenched in brooding that his face began to change shape, turning angular and unfriendly. His friends swear that sometimes you could actually literally see the anger bubbling in his belly. The change was also clearly mirrored in Samoyed's musical output. There was a new hatred in the young mans drones, a violence in his clicks. Most notably though, there was the addition of an element not heard in his music before : The Drum. It was at this point that Glum decided to sign him. Her Honey Dripping Behind EP, Samoyeds first release on the label, follows in the raw and dusty techno footprints of Glums previous two vinyl outings from Lukid, and represents a great leap forward from his already-quite-marvellous Spit 10 released complete with Lukid remix on Astro Dynamics late last year. It also harbours a deadly secret weapon on its B side, namely Klondike Rush, a rave banger so potent that it has proved to make Glaswegians spontaneously slap walls and scream.

Arclight return to Vase in 2013 with the second installment on the label. Bringing 4 brand new tracks from the unstoppable duo of Lukid and Simon Lord. The opener 'Obsidian' starts with a cascade of guitar loops, flowing vocal melodies and soon strips down to a gorgeous mantra chanting over & over. Up next the unfathomable 'Tumble Down' catches the air with liquid harps and stadium ready drums. The flip has the beautiful sun soaked folk led 'Hold Against The Light' and the claustrophobic love of 'One Seven Three Four'

Arclight drop the incredible 'Holographic' EP. via Jacques Greene's label 'VASE'. Heralding from London, 'Arclight' caught massive attention via leaking songs on Youtube and their incredible take on Electronic music. The title track is just as memorizing as its predecessor with much more driven base of percussion and hypnotic chanting cascading into the realm of the night / club. B-side 'Purple City' is a tale of vice and virtue, Sitting somewhere between Panda Bear, Bjork and Radiohead - 'Arclight' are making some of the most interesting Pop music around. DJ support from Optimo, Mary Anne Hobbs, Gilles Peterson and James Murphy. 'Holographic' is out on April 2nd on VASE.

Jacques Greene is back with a 4-track EP on his brand new label Vase. The young Montreal producer had a fantastic 2011 with remixes for Katy B, Radiohead and massive support for his debut single 'Another Girl' coming from Pete Tong, SBTRKT and many more. Taking his unashamed love for RnB while pushing the envelope of his mood driven sound the EP opens with a collaboration with long term friend and Montreal artist Ango on the track 'Flatline'. 'Flatline' is a heartfelt story of lost love and long nights - filled with signature analogue sounds and pop sensibilities. Next up 'These Days' and 'Clark' hail back to the classic JG sound with swinging Garage drums and haunting vocals. The final track 'Arrow' is a collaboration with the much hyped producer Koreless - awash with warm chords, glowing piano and driving drums. DJ support comes from Annie Mac, Mary Anne Hobbs, Hudson Mohawke and Oneman.
