A.1 GOT TIME B1. NOBODY B2. GOT TIME
info:
It's tempting to concentrate on Felix's Dickinson's History, his pre criminal justice act rave orchestration, his 10 years DJing for the Lifeforce parties in Japan or any of his DJing and touring achievements during the early formation of the UK House scene. But, to concentrate on any of these things is clearly missing the point. Yes, Felix was making and playing music in those "early days", but he has consistently championed underground music to this very day, whether via his myriad musical guises and aliases including Foolish and Sly, LHAS Inc, Das Etwas, Bastedos, and the soon to be revealed "Dedication" project, on labels like DFA, Eskimo, Rush Hour and International Feel… or through his own Label, Cynic Music. It's Felix's absolute dedication to music, parties and dancing, which has allowed him to remain as relevant today as he ever was, and which has secured him regular appearances at festivals such as The Garden Festival, Burning Man and Glastonbury, regular tours of Japan, the USA and beyond as well as his London residencies at 'Bad Passion' and his own party, 'Bring It', which he hosts alongside the Idjut Boys. Bizarre as it seems after such a lengthy involvement spent at the heart of the scene, despite everything he's already achieved It still makes more sense to be excited about what Felix is going to next.

bastedos - Magicke" (Last Waltz re do)
Bastedos returns with more signature weirdo disco not disco (but disco) cut-up cuts. This time the painstaking editing comes from A.M., Last Waltz, and Bastedos themselves. Side A brings us Sit On This, a rolling, chugging, clapping, marimba-ing (!) disco workout in the vein of Material ,which pulls you along through a peaky peak time vocal, a sexed up guitar break, and some chopped-up chanting, all the way to its inevitable hands in the air Piano finale. Side B first provides us first with No Smoking On The Moon and it's celestial choral stylings. Soft synths and tough bass play with each other beneath B-Movie fx and ecclesiastic organs. The sound of a space age disco cult... from the past. Finishing off side B we have Magicke, the extended soundtrack to the opening of the gates of hell. Shuffling go-go perc, syncopated drums and fuzzed out chords play out under Satan's saxophone, before giving way to a damned (damned fuzzy that is) guitar, sounding out the call of Cthulu.

3
Dan and The Unlimited Stupidity Band - Termination
Bastedos is back with three rascal disco edits from Dan and The Unlimited Stupidity Band drenched in that dazzle of the early disco days - reworked, extended and primed for the modern dancefloor.
‘Keep Me On Fire’ is a funk-powered, strutting gem of infectious grooves, full frontal bass and rousing vocal refrains. Classy and considered, this re-beefed edit is straight up incendiary business destined to ignite any dancefloor it’s put before.
Taking to the B side, ‘Tried To Help It’ is a mouth-watering mix of squelching melodies, sumptuous falsetto vocals and heavy low-end weight, tape delayed exquisitely to echo out across the ether.
The peak time ‘Termination’ closes out the EP. Cosmic sirens lead the way for a tension amping build up, full of space echoed reverberations, divine synths and peppering guitar licks. By the time those swaggering vocals are laid to bare its fever pitch point with this astronomical edit.

bastedos / rune linbaek - "Supermann"
Rune Lindbaek joins Bastedos on this new edition featuring two tracks from polar oposites of the BPM spectrum. Side A from Bastedos features a pacey electronic number with flavours of both rock and disco and a singer making the asertion that ' I Just Wanna Dance, I Just Wanna Boogie', surely any listener will be left with a similar desire when they hear this at their favourite discotetheque. Rune slows it down a gear or two for the flip with his version of Supermann, this is a perfect end of the night track that would melt the hips of even the man of steel.

Bastedos returns hosting two disco objects lovingly versioned by Nad. One side features the vocal talents of a mystery man with low riding balls imploring those gathered to hear him to 'join his party'...if you look at his backside, so to speak, you will head off down to sunny rainbow filled Castro for a happy sing along and dancing tune versioned from vaults of Moby Dick.
