Wars/When I Feel is Juk Juk’s third 12” release for Nommos Lead tune Wars is pure winter melancholy driven by dark rhythms and brooding basslines, occasionally broken down with celestial synths. Slick, enigmatic and moody, a hard one to pin down but easy to get lost in. In contrast When I Feel is an irresistible piece of minimal Garage House. Big kicks and crisp highs are punctuated with reversed strings. All this is scattered with Juk Juk’s signature vocal manipulations. One to play indoors and out! Support from Four Tet, Dark Sky, Gilles Peterson.

Thinking Too Much/Where The Helios is Juk Juk’s second release on Nommos. Thinking Too Much is the most direct Juk Juk release so far. It’s peak
time fare, aimed squarely at the dancefloor. The dreamy intro will fool the unsuspecting, sucking them in and propelling them on a tripped out ride on a
techno ghost train, buffered by a cushion of warm throbbing bass. Where The Helios is the real dream side. A floating, hallucinogenic, spaced out drift, driven by a crisp, pared back rhythm and a gorgeous, woozy vocal- led melody. Juk Juk’s first release for Nommos was Unwrap/Fall and before that his debut, Winter Turn Spring/Frozen, was put out by Kieran (Four Tet) Hebden on his highly regarded Text label. All Juk Juk’s output to date has been critically acclaimed, coverage including Fact Magazine, Pitchfork, Mix Mag, Abeano, the Fader amongst others. His releases have also received significant club and radio plays including mainstream Radio 1 support from admirers Giles Peterson and Rob Da Bank, who has promised support for this release. Four
Tet said the room went off when playing Thinking Too Much at a recent event.

Juk Juk?s Unwrap/Fall is the inaugural release on Nommos, a new label from East London. It is Juk Juk?s second release following last autumn?s critically acclaimed debut on Keiran (Four Tet) Hebden?s Text imprint. Unwrap is a beautifully arranged, euphoric mix of strings and chopped vocals driven by a deceptively simple rhythm. Perfect late night/early morning fare, as well suited to the dance floor as it is to the sofa. Fall is the darker flipside, thick with dominant bass stabs, two-step rhythms and paranoid vocal leads. Minimal, moody, compelling, it will devastate on a big system. Juk Juk first turned heads with Winter Turn Spring/Frozen and thanks to Kieran Hebden?s endorsement it received plenty of attention. Both tracks were well received in clubs, and radio plays included Giles Peterson and Rob Da Bank?s Radio One shows and Nick Luscombe?s show on Radio Three. Juk Juk has continued to build a following through DJ sets in London, Manchester, Stockholm and at last December?s All Tomorrow?s Parties festival. Mix Mag recently wrote, ?If there's one name you should watch this year, it's Juk Juk .?
