The time has come. The funky nerd and knob-handler Erdbeerschnitzel alias Tim Keiling is releasing his first physical album on Mirau. The young producer, who has moved from his hometown of Mittelfischbach to Bonn, tapped into the lode of versatility early on, and has been extracting one surprise after another ever since. After single-handedly releasing a first digital album that was obviously bursting with ideas (“Pathetik Party”, 2009), Erdbeerschnitzel rapidly made himself a name with first-class single releases in the following years on 3rd Strike Records, 4 Lux and Mirau – a name not easily forgotten. The release of the much-celebrated single “To an End” on Mirau made clear that this was but the beginning of a work together. In the wake of anticipation created by the digital single “Through the Night”, the album “Tender Leaf” is now available on beautifully packed double vinyl. “Tender Leaf” is a collection of 12 wonderful tracks, splashing at the edges with Erdbeerschnitzel’s signature deep, driving vibe throughout the entire album, pulling us into a pool of swinging, iridescent oomph. Each elaborate audio-bouquet is full of spirit. Sometimes weirdly romantic and introverted, then breaking out into raucous assemblage, flaunting sonar reverb. Keiling’s production makes these gems sound like an essence of all the music around us today, which calls out to us in echoing vocal traces. In “The Mattress Excursions”, guest singer “The Drifter” steers his soulful voice through the escalating arrangement and broken beats as we remember from early Jamie Lidell tracks. Erdbeerschnitzel frequently gives things a humorous turn, flashing us winks from the midst of the fray. His characteristic beat programming, clever and exulting, makes otherwise bland patterns swing into pulsating vivacity; picking up on contemporary styles and aesthetics, he re-animates sounds within his own parameters. Multifacet-flow is the fuel in Tim Keiling’s imaginative engine, and on “Tender Leaf” he takes us along in the musical current of disco, cut-up-funk, house, soul, dub step and RnB, over an exquisite Erdbeerschnitzel-rainbow in album format.

Rote Liebe releases Tim Keiling's new album under his "Erdbeerschnitzel" moniker. In contrast to his recent dancefloor-oriented EPs on Delsin Records, "The Attendants" is hovering over more subtle grounds, featuring a mixture of contemporary electronic composition and hazy experimental pieces just outside the dancefloor proper.
Rote Liebe is a Cologne-based collective, founded in 2006 with a focus on events in various off-locations and clubs around the city. 2013 marked the launch of the Rote Liebe label with the aim to build a catalogue which features a broad musical spectrum, featuring House, Techno, Broken Beat and Experimental Electronics just as the regular Rote Liebe nights.

German producer Erdbeerschnitzel is the next to get the nod for the house focused Delsin series with a new three track EP, 'Cushion'. The man born Tim Keiling has been forever hard to pin down, with releases that take in techno, disco and deep house on labels like Mirau and 4Lux. This new EP is no different… The title track is a blissful, sunny day affair with raw, loose drums, trilling harmonies and a light fingered percussive touch that simply fills you with joy. Next track 'Am Bossele' is a more dense affair with layered samples of voices and off kilter percussion never really settling, instead they prickle and bustle in all directions and make for a lively listen. Final track 'Crossroads' is a nine-minute workout that eventually makes way for a fizzing, slowed tempo melange of wiry synthesiser lines and clusters of wooden sounding percussion. The textures are both organic and synthetic and the counter between the two is what stands the track apart. An all important human touch comes from the mired vocal sample and once again proves Erdbeerschnitzel to be someone with a very unique voice.

Tracklisting A1: Forgiveness A2: Greetings From Netherworld B1: Illusion Of Choice B2: Different From The Rest
Janis Guckes is a friendly musician from Frankfurt. His love of music has led him to many a band and project. Socialized in the Robert Johnson Club, where he found his way to club music in the late nineties, he now produces excellent House in his own kitchen. He also runs a label with two friends, "House Is OK", where he released his first records. Stylewise, he feels at home just in just about any box - and on Mirau 018, he pulls out his heavy, vast coffer of house music. On the "Forgiveness EP", substantial Detroit numbers shuffle into line on a timeless 12inch. Janis' seemingly impulsive way of putting together grooving, tilting tracks hits a nerve; everything falls into place. In honest, brave lines, he sketches out a feeling that we can't help but live. The first track, "Forgiveness", starts out with a warm sample that pumps blood straight to your dancing feet - tangible Deep House. "Greetings from the Netherworld" reaches out and grabs you with a bouncing bass, echoing vocals and hauntlingly beautiful string elements, building up a marching, glittering ensemble. "Illusion of Choice" stoicly stamps and twists from the speakers. The next-door neighbor complains across the freshly trimmed hedge, then breaks down and gives us a tap dance lesson. In "Different from the Rest", not only he can no longer resist; everyone joins in, because it shuffles so nicely. The swinging bass line carries the tapdancing companions all the way to the end of this enchanting EP.

B1: Horses (KDMS Drums Of Love Remix) B2: Horses
It's been almost a year since the release of Iron Curtis' magical debut "Soft Wide Waist Band",
and now a luscious remix record comes galopping around the corner, riding one of the most beautiful tracks on the album. "Horses" is taken apart and put back together on this 12" by the wonderful Move D, Edith Piafra & Johannes Albert, and The KDMS. Move D starts the release with his signature grooving beat, holding the billowing bass line together with crystal clarity. Sparkling melody chords propel each other through the fluffy, shuffling structure - springtime bubbles from speakers like milk boiling over on an open fire. Move D is an old hand in decent German club music as DJ and producer, with multiple releases on his own label "Source" as well as countless others such as Liebe *Detail, Smallville, Warp, Philpot, Running Back, Compost, Workshop etc.
Edith Piafra & Johannes Albert beginn by switching off the lights; their house mix spreads over the dance floor with a deep, booming euphoria that goes straight to the legs. Edith Piafra is also known from the musical conglomerate "Achterbahn D`Amour" (Acid Test) - Johannes Albert is a DJ and a producer and runs the promising label "Frank Music". The KDMS generously toss rumbling drums out there, as their remix swings upwards on funking beats and cowbells to a high-spirited hymn that induces uncontrollable grinning. From time to time, it all crashes back down, just stage a further burst of energy and build right back up like drunken horses. The KDMS is the band around disco soul diva Kathy Diamond and Max Skiba. They released their splendid debut album last year on Gomma.
We proudly present you the diversified MIRAU017 with warm sounds for the springtime dance floor! Take of your shoes and listen loud...*

A: Erobique - Warmer Bruder B: Alexander Polzin - Früchtchen
It's warm in the stable. Actually it's rather hot. The jeep's motor is already purring as Erobique licks away the last scoop of strawberry ice cream and switches on the car radio. He spins the tires, pushing up a cloud of dust and sand to cover his ride like a protective shield. With ice cream and suntan lotion glistening in his beard, he puts the jeep in gear and moves off. The cowbells clatter on the back seat as yet another warm synthie wave washes the jeep up to the nearest club. It's dazzlingly bright; still, all eyes are drawn to the source. The bongos accelerate and high-pitched strings hover above the drifting dancers basking in slow motion. "Warmer Bruder" is a dependable, good friend. Erobique will drive him on over and take you along…no matter where you are. The tunnel is long. Lights fly by, spinning into lines. Slowly, the black abyss opens and the walls become permeable. Warm, dark sand caressing feet and rising around legs. An omnipresent kick marches throughout the tenacious, mounting mass of melody textures and harmony particles. Alexander Polzin steers the gigantic ship towards the harbor. Expectant onlookers feed on the approach of dark, shimmering monument with blissful eyes. It is still glowing. "Früchtchen" is a ship without a sail, without a motor. Its momentum is the power of fancy.

Iron Curtis - Soft Wide Waist Band (Text: Gerd Janson)
As we all know, there is a first time for everything. In this case, it's even a debut for both: the Tensnake co-run label Mirau and Iron Curtis. “Soft Wide Waist Band” is Curtis' entrance into the world of long players and the first of its kind for the Hamburg imprint that fittingly put the producer on the map with his “Solgerhood EP” in 2009. Three years and a string of releases on Retreat, Kolour, Mule Electronic, remixes for Jacob Korn, Ripperton or Mano Le Tough and a move to Berlin later, Johannes Paluka alias Iron Curtis has matured enough
as a producer to take on the heavy burden of a “house music” album – if you want to call it like that at all. Of course, the man has earned his four-to-the-floor stripes navigation between deep house and soulful techno leanings, but he has also managed to steer clear of genre silt. Thus the task of creating a coherent, yet amusing album without blinkers is passed with distinction here. If you want to peg this boy, you have to do it yourself. Nevertheless, no work of art appears out of thin air. “Soft Wide Waist Band” has it roots firmly planted. It streaks all the places and spaces in the past, present and future: the basic knowledge of engineering skills hones in New York, Chicago and Detroit left its traces here as much as a touch of British freewheeling mixed with the flow and indie poetry of a German country boy who has heard of electronic pop music before (guess who sang all those lovely vocal bits on the album?). While tracks like “Inner Glow” romanticise a road trip on a Midwest interstate and “Horses” offers a ride for DJs like James Holden and Dixon alike, you will meet pieces like the “The Sun” that tickle the soul boy and girl in all of us, wonky slow motion masterpieces (“Planetarium”) or the dreamy pop beat of the album's eponym. Much like a writer who knows and can recite the entire classical works, but also adores the postmodern tricks, treats and rulebook violations. Whatever his secret is to wander the narrow path between the norm and its deviation, Iron Curtis seems to be able to do it blindfolded, wearing nothing but a “Soft Wide Waist Band”.

Alin Crihan alias "Aeromaschine" is an impishly young DJ and Producer from deepest Romania. With his passed Releases on Opossum Recordings and Baalsaal Records he earned such positive attention. Now "Ascultam Vorbe" is his innovative debut EP on Mirau. What at first sight appear to be minimalistic, funky House tracks hypnotically wind their way into into your dancing shoes and burst into pulsing grooveshapes. The innocent thrill of these deep loops and squandered samples will squeeze you onto the dancefloor! High spirits are the trump! Marcus Worgull, best known for his "Spellbound" Release / featuring Mr. White on Innervisions, contributes an ageless "Ascultam Vorbe Remix"-Track that floats over the dancefloor like spherical haze.

Kasper Bjørke, Tomas Barfod, - Superbacon
Copenhagens Tomas Barfod and Kasper Bjørke hardly need introducing...
for over a decade, they have been making music, together and separately, with releases on some of the most respected labels around. Still, their first release under their new moniker Bjørke & Barfod - and their first 12" together in years - and with a new sound perhaps best described as symphonic disco-trance definitely marks a turning point in their collaboration. Maybe it`s the fact that they have had a few years break from working together in the studio, while taking time to focus on solo outputs and, in Barfods case, bandlife with WhoMadeWho, or maybe its because they discovered some ancient herb in the tent of some hippie at Roskilde Festival after they played a marathon this summer - in either case Superbacon EP has a genuine freshness to it that has already gotten some serious hype. Superbacon is an epic bigroom track, still with enough livedrums and sexy house elements to make it work in smaller clubs as well. In other words - a stealth "debut" release on Mirau. The remix of Cauliflower comes from Brooklyns finest, Runaway (DFA) that brings rave back in a big way. The EP is named after the new party concept that Bjørke & Barfod take to the clubs around the globe representing the finest from the Danish clubscene... Because as you all know - crispy pork is the prize export of Denmark.

Good Guy Mikesh, Filburt, - Cleaning Up
Who are these guys behind the pseudonyms? Good Guy Mikesh and Filburt are two music lovers... FULL STOP! Two independent acts that met in Leipzig and began to merge their musical creative capacities two years ago. A convolution of disco, pop and house, propagating one of Leipzig's most promising collaborative developments. Good Guy Mikesh has haunted Leipzig's contemporary underground for a long time. From the beginning of his musical career, his singles (published on Lebensfreude Records and Broque.de) have signified an eclectic mix of pop, soul and disco. Filburt - Dj, record store owner and Leipzig club scene veteran, was consequently Good Guy Mikesh's best possible accomplice in the mission to break fresh ground. This mixture of soul, disco and house-pop is IT, charged by the duo's certain something - an energy sought for not only in this town, but throughout the whole scene. "Someone Told Me", their latest single, has been causing an outbreak of contagious enthusiasm in the scene since its release on PERMANENT VACATION this summer. We are proud to release this fine EP, which comes with a remix by one of our UK favorites: MARK E !
