Rewind to 2010. Inkswel had made a few beats on some rappers projects, spent most of his time smoking weed and on his MPC in his basement, he relocated to Amsterdam with his ex girlfriend at the time, already a fan of the dutch scene, he went to shows, made connects and studied the vibes. On a chance meeting with dutch legend KC The Funkaholic, he was asked to put together his first EP for the now defunct party and label Boogie Bash (a sublabel of Kindred Spirits), a party he also dj'd at with KC at the famous Paradiso venue alongside special guests like Funkineven, Dam Funk and Mayer Hawthorne. The EP sold out very quickly and soon became hot property on many djs playlists and discogs want lists. Fast forward a few years and Inkswel pushed on and released countless projects on labels like Wolf, Rush Hour, Lumberjacks in Hell, Superior Elevation and then eventually BBE in London and OYE in Berlin. 'She Likes Techno' was the main reason this EP from 2011 became so revered, a collaboration with soul vocalist Reggie B and legendary dutch producer Kid Sublime, this became the joint Inkswel was known for and set the tone for his future sound. Almost 10 years later finally a vinyl re issue of that tune alongside a previously unreleased remix from fellow Australian boogie freak Megadon Betamax. Super limited edition. More

Australia based artist Inkswel is widely known for his funk infused dance music that incorporates ingenious sample work and memorable vocal cuts. For the ninth installment of the PULP series the 'Edible Pyramid EP' is a journey through the mind of the Australian artist. The package includes a melancholic remix by no one else than long time champion of vinyl and Red Motorbike label boss Eddie C, 'Edible Pyramid' is a work of positivity, the title track excels in it's blissful ambiance that is supported by a back bone of thumping rhythms and jovial vocal cuts. The Eddie C Remix is showcasing a wistful approach by incorporating a rhythm that is reminiscent of those from the early days of Hip hop. 'Let Go' is a confident sounding work of samples. Rhythmically firm with an emotive break that is a welcome change from the slow base-rhythm that flows throughout.
On the B side The Posse comes up with a remix that cleverly incorporates oozing synth pads and a more upbeat vibe. The original is flipped into a more dancefloor friendly version with an acidic touch to it. The final track is called 'Yesterdays Flava of The Month' this boogie tainted cut uses tasty breaks and lively pads that again depict a positive atmosphere. More

A follow up to the random yet bubbling 'Get to my party' release, this ep cohesively mashes together drum machine sounds and new wave funk tendencies. The title track featuring vocal funkster Zackey Force Funk (Baron Zen/Jellphonic/Mike Gao) brings forth a timeless love song vibe into Inkswel's popping and locking approach to song composition. Good times is Inkswel's ode to post disco and pre house sounds, fuzzy Yamaha synth stabs and watery chords. Backed with the bonus beat vibe of Who's fooling who, a stand alone banger for beat heads and party animals.
