present sense ft. dean bowman - In The Present
2
present sense ft. dean bowman - The Time
It's been over ten years since producers Jarno Lappalainen and Sampo Härkönen released their music under the moniker Present Sense. On this new ep they continue from where they were back then, exploring new expressions through the world of spiritual jazz. They made these first two compositions and arrangements for the international octet featuring some of the greatest musicians in their fields. Everything was recorded in two days with only a few takes and a minor pre-production. The result is an exiting entity of distinctive harmonies, from minimal to broken rhythms and top notch solos, everything tied up beautifully together by Dean Bowman's masterful vocals, spoken word and poetry. This EP is first of the five in the series

morris - Can We Melt The Ice (Unreleased Extended Version)
Can We Melt The Ice is one of those mystery records that collectors love so dearly. Very little is known about it, other than that it appeared on Plush Records sometime around 1982 or '83. It was written and produced by Chicago producer Morris J Williams, whose sweet vocal provides a vocal point for the track's sensual boogie vibes - all lilting horns, subtle synthesizers and shuffling grooves. Brilliantly, this reissue from Finland's constantly on-point Traveller Records also boasts a previously unreleased longer version, which naturally extends the track's wonderful instrumentation in all the right places. Recommended.

nick anthony simoncino ft. robert owens - Some People (Trevor Deep Jr Warehouse Remix)
Italian producer & Hot Mix label boss Nick Anthony Simoncino is back with "Some People", a collaboration with Chicago's legendary House vocalist Robert Owens. Simoncino's 3 original mixes sound just like tracks lifted off lost EP's straight from the mid 80's with deep, melancholy synths, driving analogue drum machine sounds and Owen's yearning vocal performance coming together beautifully while showing off Simoncino's versatility as a producer. "Some People" is perfect late night House music with a classic sensibility, for the deepest hours of the night or the morning. On remix duties we have the UK's very own Chamboche who delivers a deep, rolling version of "Some People" keeping things nice and stripped back and adding a dubby quality to his mix while Finnish new school House head Trevor Deep Jr's "Warehouse Mix" keeps Owen's vocals right up-front with some killer drum programming and percussion rounding out the EP while keeping the old school vibe firmly anchored to the dance-floor...

At the time of the revolution in Romania, Borrowed Identitys parents had to leave the country, because of revolutionary activities and an "anticommunist lifestyle". So the 21 years old producer behind the mask, was born as a political refugee in 1990 in the deep south of Germany.
Growing up with multi ethnic friends and big interest in every music genre of the world, he built his knowledge about music through hearing
every record he could get in his hands from friends, librarys, record stores and also the internet. This variety in his musical taste is also
the reason why he is working anonym since years under different aliases producing a big variety of sound from classical symphonys, ambient, house, techno to experimental music and everything between. The project Borrowed Identity was found as a new alias of the Romanian
producer in the summer of 2011, with the idea behind to work on a fusion of classic electronic music from Detroit & Chicago plus his own
influences to make something contemporary but timeless. The 21 Years old youngster already released his debut vinyl on Foul&Sunk in June 2012 with a Mark E Remix on board and future Releases are already planned on Traveller Records (Finland), Other Heights (Belgium), Stripped&Chewed (Chicago), Home Taping Is Killing Music (UK), Legendary Sound Research (Netherlands), Bastard Music (Spain) and some secret surprises are following.

Celebratin' forgotten '70s jazz-funk. "The feel and rawness these dudes are bringing are perfect. With just a quintet, the band move through rare groove classics with a heavy emphasis on SlikkTim's neck snapping breaks." -FullUp&Eating Created in 2011 by drummer and arranger Slikk Tim, DopeGems is a five piece band dedicated to that gritty, raw instrumental sound of the 70s music lovers, hiphop fans, DJ's and record collectors love. That special blend of jazz, funk, and classic soundtracks, obscured by limited releases and pressings, highly sought after by vinyl fans and rap
producers over the world... but so rarely performed live: there comes the idea of DopeGems. By combining vibraphone, guitar and vintage keys on top of a rock-solid rythm section, the band is able to sound bigger than the sum of it parts, enabling the unit to be very versatile, from searing
improvisations to heavy, deep grooves, all the way to full-on symphonic movie charts. And no matter what the music is, they give it their own edge with their authentic, powerful and just plain PHAT sound while payin' attention to every detail to truly convey the original spirit of the music they chose to arrange. Long story short: DopeGems are keepin' it real, keepin' it funky and keepin' it live.

"I gotta say the when I heard the track 'Why' I was VERY pleasantly surprised by how tight the band and the singer just blew me away. I cannot believe she is born and raised in Sweden but she is definitely channeling Lauren Hill vibes!"
