SLEEP D's BACON EP is the next offering from Sydney's excellent DEATH STROBE imprint . SLEEP D are a couple of young cats from Melbourne, the production duo are sure to be an integral part of the deep house explosion coming from their city, spearheaded by the likes of Tornado Wallace, Fantastic Man and the Melbourne Deepcast crew. The record has a range of flavours all tied together by a fundamental warmth and soulfulness. The title track flows and floats in a dreamlike state, whilst simultaneously nailing the groove from beat one. Bubbles vs The Cat takes it up a notch, entering the club realm with rich bass and tight rhythms. Their remix of Chet Faker's Love & Feeling is certain to give any dance floor a collective orgasm, oozing an erotic strangeness as it heaves and thrusts away, while Ischa has a tickle of Techno thrown into the mix and, despite its druggy sedation, has a hidden energy for dancing feet. Naarm alchemists Sleep D's revelatory new synthetic 'Electronic Arts' is ready for circulation. Having released 4 EPs of mind-altering club tackle since 2019's 'Rebel Force', the duo overcome second album syndrome, boiling down their chaos with a more developed sense of songwriting. Never banging one drum, 'Electronic Arts' mirrors the anything goes mania of their DJ sets, tactfully shifting through different sounds and styles. Tempos intensify and decelerate, at times pushing the threshold to 150 bpm from docile canine dreamscapes to full tilt Space Invaders in AR mind games. Largely built on road tested material from their live performances, the album is a tangible Butter Sessions gathering, busting out the gate with Martian rave initiation Planet Waves, Outdoor System's polyrhythmic beatdown and the Orb-like hero dose affirmations of Sunrise In The Crater (I Exist). While 'Electronic Arts' is otherwise a self-dependent effort, Punch Drunk is brewed ever more potent by the hypnagogic vocals and lucid trumpet cycles of former futsal team member YL Hooi. Their unified energy incidentally manifests a profound matrix of ambient techno, motorik, Don Cherry and Everything But the Girl. Also touching on apocalyptic doof and minimal, the album is not exclusively peak time with Maryos Syawish and Corey Kikos' specialty curveballs also playing their part. From Village To Empire finds the duo rooting down in Syawish's heritage with a tapestry of purposefully deployed Iraqi and Syrian ethnographic samples and field recordings, dubbed within range of Muslimgauze and On-U Sound. As minimal techno finale Textile trails off into footsteps wandering back to base camp with a satisfied exhale, one wonders where Sleep D's existential pathfinding could possibly take us next?

Sleep D - Bass'd In Berlin
The truest Freaks Of Nature, Sleep D, are following up their hot 'n' heavy "F.O.N" series with Vol. 2; rammed start to finish with juiced up club exhilarations - you can't afford to miss this. Australia's notoriously prolific duo are celebrating all things bass, the 3 tech-tinged party starters are a force to be reckoned with, an official warning of high voltage (and speed). Welcoming back Butter Sessions alumni Ivy Barkakati & Furious Frank, the sun kissed acid anthem Ahora Sí metamorphosizes into a peak-time prog punisher Border Control where sensual whispers weave their way through a slick sexy drum maze, a darker rendition merging past, present and futuristic fantasies. Post Pump elevates tech house to immaculate status, undeniable deep groove unlocked through their signature bump and bounce; a combination of wild A side audio energies finding their home on freaky finale Bass'd In Berlin. Close your eyes, strap in and surrender control, Sleep D once again showcasing what they do best; modern dance from down under.

Incienso is proud to announce our next release- “Rebel Force”, the debut album from Sleep D, the ultimate Doof Dance Duo…
Across ten songs, Sleep D take us from the deep desert chug of “Red Rocks”, through the center of the best rave in town with “Danza Mart”, and “Central”, past a head-trip of styles in the deep core, and ease us back down to some kind of new earth in the final songs, including “Morning Sequence”, a beaut’ of a track featuring Kuniyuki. When it’s all said and done its big smiles and fuzzy heads all around— we’ve said it once and we’ll say it again - rated “E” for Everyone. More

Label head honchos Sleep D are back with another production out of The Jackal Studios, located in Melbourne, Australia. 'Red Rock (IV Mix)' kicks off the release, a mid-tempo mover originally performed live at Inner Varnika 2017, re-imagined in the studio taking you back to the alien-like surrounds of rural Victorian landscape Bookaar. 'Bunyip Beat' reinforces the mood, forcing your mind to explore the flow of the odd-ball rhythm.
Flip it over and you have almost 8 minutes of hypnotic aural madness on 'Sandman', a real late night outdoor atmospheric finish on this diverse release. More

Three years ago Butter Sessions launched their now celebrated label with the stunning Jackel EP from Aussie duo SLEEP D. This follow up Jackal EP PT.2 features two cuts assembled for a live show at Inner Varnika, flipped with the stunning new (& title) cut Their rough and ready approach is still very much front and centre, but the duo's sonic palette has developed to incorporate a richer set of ingredients & refined melodic elements without ever losing sight of total dancefloor domination.

Sydney's excellent DEATH STROBE label return with another surprise ! There's just no pinning these boys down as they chalk up another fine addition to an increasingly vivid and varied catalogue "Two brothers - a designer and a scientist: Professional vibe councilors at the esteemed Motorik record label and godfathers of the Australian indie dance scene. Together they form the outfit CSMNT61 - their personal take on primal techno rhythm and deep jacking house. We at Death Strobe records are delighted to announce collaboration with the aforementioned Motorik label in the form of a beautifully packaged vinyl release. Contained in the grooves of this limited edition artifact are specially commissioned remixes of "Keep Holding On" - CSMNT61's anthemic first single featuring the brooding, driving vocal talents of Nik Yiannikas. As always at Motorik and Death Strobe, quality control is of the upmost importance so only the best were brought in to rework the track - the all star lineup includes C.O.M.B.I. edit extraordinaire Eric "Dr Dunks" Duncan (also of Rub N Tug/Still Going/DFA fame), breezy synth wizards Eric Omen and a particularly weaponised 3AM version by the CSMNT61 lads themselves.

Sydney's DEATH STROBE present Tunnel Signs, the new studio project of Ash Moses - graphic designer, DJ and exactly one half of Death Strobe Records. Sun is his debut release - a driving disco-house jam written over a glorious Sydney summer. The EP neatly ties together the various influences and vibes that have inspired Ash in his never ending tumble down the rabbit hole of Techno. Dark yet happy, serious but fun... The stuff they call dance music! Remixes come from some top dudes from Sydney and abroad. The Finger Prince have turned in a wonky K-House reinterpreation with a brooding acid line underpinning the trip whilst disco legend Monsieur Graz has crafted a deep house monster that will have you screaming "gude laune!" in no time. Last but most certainly not least is the talented young London upstart DJ Daniel Avery/Stopmakingme who has been crafting some of our favourite records of late - he strips it right back and gives us a dub that is the perfect soundtrack to the best time you ever had at Berghain.
