Sterac Aka Steve Rachmad - Old Days
CROWD, a new techno label hailing from Berlin with FJAAK at the head, has just released its debut EP, paying homage to oldschool techno while infusing a contemporary twist that is sure to please listeners of both eras. Produced by the legendary Sterac aka Steve Rachmad, the EP is showcasing the versatility and timelessness of techno. The tracks are based on DAT recordings from the 90s that got carefully crafted, highlighting the pure energy and raw emotion of the genre, always leaving the listener wanting more. CROWD's first release marks the beginning of what is sure to be an exciting journey for techno enthusiasts and dancers alike. The label's ethos revolves around the people and the dancefloor, and this is also reflected in its events, which are centered around the gatherings. The event's / label's focal point is undeniably the crowd, which is regarded as the pivotal element of the night. Once again, CROWD gatherings will center their essence on them, with an unwavering focus, ensuring no distractions dilute the experience.

STERAC aka Steve Rachmad has reached back to the first album 100% Pure ever released in 1995 – the classic milestone in the history of Detroit Techno 'Secret Life of Machines' and has given it a whole new lease of musical life for release this summer. 17 years ago, in a make shift studio at his parent’s house, Steve Rachmad crafted his first album Secret Life of Machines under the moniker STERAC, using his music machines (Roland TR-808, R-8m, U-20, Juno 106, JX 8p, Yamaha TX-81z and FB-01). Released on 100% Pure in the same year that the Internet went mainstream, everyone was blown away by the fresh thrilling sounds and Detroit Techno futuristic flavours. It was a defining moment for Steve’s career and received massive support from the DJ likes of Darren Emmerson, Mark Broom, Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier.... The timelessness and delicious smoothness of Secret Life of Machines forged a path immediately in the Techno landscape - a path that now Sterac aka Steve Rachmad and 100% Pure have chosen to revisit. Steve Rachmad, now hailed as the European father of Detroit Techno, has chosen to recreate a selection of the original tracks tailored to today’s sound, using the very same machines as he had back then. They say ‘good things come in threes’, which is why after the album release, there will be a remix package by Steve himself, then 100% Pure will release a rollout of remixes from headliner DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn, 2000 and One….
