Earth Mothern’s ninth release is signed by JS & Andee aka Rk’s. The label owners offer their vision of Techno and House music made of machines, synths and samplers live sequenced. JS’s Dance With Me is a Techno oriented raw tool, where slender snare drums run into a minimalistic string pad, almost without a break. With dramatic sounds and punching beats JS turns Nocturnal Symphony into a breathless “in crescendo” track based on electrifying violin melodies.
Andee’s side starts with Filter 999, a killer track with funk filtered samples and hypnotic percussions. It goes on with the old school house flavored Soul Train Robbery to end up with Pacific Palisades, a smoothy aquatic tune, characterized by floating bass, peaceful synths and broken distorted beats. Earth Mothern proudly presents "Italia '90 EP", a new cooperation between the infamous duo of The Analogue Cops and the unpredictable Rk's, brilliant strangeness on the A side and and the grace of technique on the AA side: "Valderrama vs. Van Basten". Valderrama project, live recorded, mixes the raw and enlightened vision of Marieu with the funk touch of Andee. Ashy is an analogue floorkiller, house on a solid techno beats, intergalactic strings and pure machines energy. Underwater reminds of some early techno production, with a guitar loop that spins the track into an aquatic pad, break, beats, deep submarine sounds. A sweet assist for the next striker. Van Basten project, also recorded live, adds up two masters of the sound, the "Doctor" Lucretio with the talented JS. Dungeon Days, deep mood, heavy kick, a massive obsessive organ perfectly supported by the groove, like a never-ending bicycle kick and Bombers, a basic Techno track: beats, acid synth, heavy bass and bells for a track that explains in the best way the spirit of the new East (Italian) side of Techno. Sunwalkers is the b-side project of Rk’s, that’s what happens when the power of the beats meets the light of the synths. A raw mix of miscellaneous pad and analogue drums that start with A Tribute, a detroit reminding track, 303 acid bass and a blaze of sweet melodies, like the old school way says. The ride goes on with 2, an easy dancing jam, the piano chords run into an unceasing clap for a massive dirty floor killer.
On the b-side Terrence Parker puts his groovy piano style on a brilliant remix of The Light, seven minutes of pure Detroit Parker’s energy with a dreamy heartbreaker bridge. The last track is the original version of The Light that brings you back to the Sunwalkers sounds, a slow deep track with an acid touch… A Tribute To Light…
