Amsterdam-based duo Crystal Maze have produced the ultimate mix of Detroit techno, Chicago house and electro. Their new EP also demonstrates they are capable of producing fabulous, timeless music. The enchanting title track ‘Crystal Maze’ captures the heart of the unsuspicious listener. It reflects the origins of electronic music, without the cliches, and is a journey into tranquility. ‘Chicago Skyway’ delivers aDepth audio’s hottest, jackin’ remix, seriously influenced by the original analogue sound of Chicago house. ‘Motoneuron’ evolves and pulsates, as if exploring the darkest, deepest spaces of the universe. ‘Two Worlds’ is cinematic and downtempo, dizzying synths and a phat bassline. Arne Weinberg’s Integrity Constraint - Part 2 is a worthy follow up to the well-received first release in this series. Arne has produced these tracks in his atmospheric and well-known style, in which beautifully arranged sounds embrace the listener in a timeless journey.
The A-side starts with 'Deep Red Skies', an interpretation of these memorable moments at the end of a long summer evening, featuring rich, warm synthesiser textures and lively percussion. Next is Arne’s ‘Syial’, remixed by Stephen Brown, who has releases on Transmat, Subject Detroit, Djax-Up-Beats and his own Realtime label. This epic 8 minute remix is beatless, deep and moody, slowly increasing in intensity with elegant synth sweeps.
'Pathway to Syrinx' crawls into dark, muddy crypts, discovers sinister acid-spitting creatures searching for every soul - wobbling basslines, 303 and macabre sounds. The EP ends with 'Solar Flare', another deep cut with pounding beats and an irresistible groove..

Erell Ranson is based in the north of France and has already released memorable records on Arne Weinberg’s AW-Recordings, as well as on his own Myself label. He expresses his personality through these soulful productions, and this new release on aDepth demonstrates how his great talent has developed even further. Each track on the new Everything needs to be clear EP is an individual musical journey in its own right. The 4 track EP begins with Erell’s original version of ‘Everything Needs to Be Clear’. Its combination of gentle chords with electro beats is the foundation of the musical ideas explored throughout this release. The second track, ‘So strange to explain’, is deeper and an adventurous fusion of dark, intense tones, swirling beats and insistent percussion. On the flipside, Canadian Rennie Foster remixes the title track, and delivers a fine piece of modern dancefloor techno which respects the key elements of title track. Erell’s ‘Sandcastle’ closes the EP, and its sophisticated yet punchy bassline and fragile synths recall some classic early ‘90s productions.
