Following Cubera's 2011 debut with the Imperial EP, Kyle Geiger embraces a new era for 2012 with the Mimetic Desire EP--further establishing his fresh and uncompromising approach to techno, with his blend of traditional low-end strength and thoughtful melodies. The feature cut, "Mimetic Desire," uniquely intertwines thick, defined bass with Geiger's signature percussion, and most notably, a searing hook that will easily find its place in the rising, peak-time mindset of a twisted dancefloor--while simultaneously providing just enough delicacy to successfully march through the early sunrise hours.. The original edit gives a more full on interpretation with a greater emphasis on the melody side of the track, while the warehouse edit pulls the sounds to the front that are crucial for bouncing off the concrete during the mayhem which always ensues late into the night when big sound meets concrete rooms. In the event the dancefloor should need some room to breathe, Final Chapter gives a 8 minute journey weaving in and out of hypnotic synthesis and soundscapes alike, while never forgetting the low end that Geiger loves so dearly. Up last is an added synth tool that captures all the aspects of the original that DJ's have been raving about, while allowing flexibility to build off onto it, as well as working perfectly for winding things down at the end of the night.
