Highly revered techno DJ/producer Ilario Alicante has unveiled his brand new ‘Luce’ EP, consisting of four fresh tracks on Cocoon Recordings.

Recognised as a DJ of the highest order whilst playing at Berghain when he was still only 21, Ilario continues to go from strength to strength. An integral member of the respected Cocoon family, Ilario Alicante has become a regular at Cocoon Ibiza, elrow and DC10 during his career so far.

Made up of the titled track ‘Luce’, a cosmic production packed with synth-laced flutters, and the more dancefloor-ready ‘Scelta’; Ilario showcases his eclectic nature across the release. Using a high tempo through the shudders of ‘Cocoon’, the Italian rounds off the EP with the deeply atmospheric ‘Sensa’; with the latter’s rattles adding an intense nature to the production.

Ilario Alicante is back on the track and he simply beats the shit out us! The italian techno maestro presents a stronger than strong release that defines the Alicante-sytle in pure perfection. The extreme Detroit flavoured Alicante double pack tracker comes with remixes by Adventice and Mark Broom. Alicantes originals "Virgo Storm" and "Hypno" are based on a massive and masculine beat programming and wave the "Purpose Maker" and "Axis" flag like no other of his releases so far. This is heavy material - this feeds Rob Hood and Jeff Mills fans and we can see and hear Alicantes admiration for the Underground Resistance back catalogue here!
Adventice (DJ Deep & Romain Poncet) remix for "Virgo Storm" follows this direction however it leaves out the manic synth elements and incorporates even more peaktime-floor-action-sounds that have only one message: Total dancefloor madness!
Mark Brooms remix for "Hypno" introduces a very cool but deep-dark and filtered organ-bassline which gives his remix an even more hypnotic touch in contrast to the cheeky and nasty original by Ilario Alicante. This 4-track-package proofs that good and solid techno is still fresh and Alicante leaves a major footprint with this release! Ilario Alicante is back and delivers another Alicante-Blueprint full of minimal techno beats ready to rock and hypnotize us. 4 tracks that represent the typical handwriting of the Italian who moved to Berlin a couple of years ago. Hard techno however sexy and funky and close to perfection. "Thera" is a massive techno monster with a mental synth line and fx loaded spoken word vocals. Steve Rachmad joins Alicante for remix action here and adds a cool and bassy organ line together with freaked out feedback-delays. Rachmads remix appears a bit deeper compared to the solid techno original however it is a hard techno monster, too with a cool detroit touch. Speaking of Detoit: Alicantes "Argo" proves the "Berlitalian" can go deeper, too. Warm analogue synths and funky jazzy drum programing and all dubbed into the arrangement in a very nice old school way. "Argo" appears unpredictable and elegant at the same time and is a pure techno lovers highlight - one for all you xxl Detroit-fans! "Encouter" gets us back to the more energetic and minimal technofield again and follows the path and vibe of "Thera". Stomping, merciless and muscle packed with driving 909 techno rides and a crazy synth line firing out of the speakers!
Alicante hands in a great techno 4-tracker with some extra Detroit flavour. Pushing and forcing but deep as hell at the same time this one is fresh peaktime food for the techno floors around the globe!

The Tuscan Techno-Wunderkind Ilario Alicante has made an amazing progression from an insider's tip to one of the most wanted Italian tech-house-DJs at the moment. He joined Cocoon at a very early stage and we are proud that we accompanied his steps ever since then.
However it is first of all Ilarios very own sound and style that brought him to this point. This special mix of oldschool influences and pure analogue sounds merged with modern technique and styles and tools. You won't find just another plastic-loop-based track producer here nor a pseudo retro-fan again. Alicante tracks are fully focused on their floor potential however with just the right musical spice to make them that important bit different. Elements of house, techno and various influences from all the good productions out of Chicago, Berlin, Detroit or Frankfurt, you all find it in here.
"Wax Weapon & "XYXY" are no exceptions to this proven formular follow Alicantes handwriting. " Wax Weapon" is a great weapon for all those open air floors and based on a mystic sawtooth synthline that adds this special Alicante analogue flavour. In contrast to that "XYXY" is built on a nice and fat house-chord and almost waves a slight hello in the direction of DHS' "The House Of God" - this track simply breathes the definition of "tech-house".
Rødhåd is in remix-charge for "Wax Weapon" and he follows the original vibe and idea of the track and emphasize the synthline even more, this is exactly what this sounds deserves. The result is a very deep mix of hard techno that will be played on hot summer nights when the sun won't get down again. Mister Ryan Elliot from New York City is going into a different direction with his remix of "XYXY" and combines the original house-chord with almost oldskool breakbeat-house-elements. Elliot one beams one back with his remix into the mid 90s and the high days of R&S Records and big hits like Outlanders "Vamp". Ilario Alicantes latest release is a close to perfection package of all things tech-house and has something to offer for most of you dancers and DJs out there.
