More than a year after its release, we have the privilege to experience again a masterpiece reworked by two members of Treibstoff, Marcel Janovsky, and Till Krüger. Janovsky, sticking to his roots, delivers a minimal techno version with just enough of the original that creates a suspenseful groove that will leave the floor in a frenzy. Till Krüger's remix is unmistakably "Krüger", instilling his warm techno style with segments of Ananda's brilliant melodies. Each producer subtly uses pieces of the original to provide a new experience without taking anything away from it. We are proud to welcome these two great producers to Basmati.

"Short Stories" is the fruition of musical ideas brought forth by label owner / chief producer Gabriel Ananda and multitalented instrumentalist and vocalist Alice Rose. The two of them have come together to resurrect a project from 2001 and have put together a colorful mix of strings, vocals, and melodies. There is something familiar and comforting in the sound of this EP. It could be Rose's strings, which were introduced with her debut for Basmati "Food For Dreams" (Basmati 06), or elements of Ananda's live series, there is an aspect to the sound that just fits.
Ananda and Rose have delivered the complete package. The A-side opens with the not-so-short "Short Stories", a fourteen minute evolving trip covering the scope of both producers' talents. The B-side contains two versions of "Struck By Light". The Techno version comes with power and emotion, crafted for the dance floor, which is followed by the deeper, original version recorded for the first time in 2001.

Extending our belief that music is best expressed as a complete idea, including the music and the artwork, we have created the Limited Series as a platform to release unique music, with a unique presentation. Each Limited release will be scheduled as soon as the master files reach our hands, meaning that the music will be available to our fans as soon as possible.
Each vinyl will function as its own artwork. The A-side will contain the title track, and the B-side will contain the logo of Basmati, hand drawn and etched. Each vinyl release will be named after its color, pressed on colored vinyl and strictly limited to 333 copies.

Parallel to the release of his album "Selected Works Techno" Ananda starts on Basmati his "Live Series ". Published here are the tracks which have been established on the floors during his recent live sets. The tracks hold almost forgotten practice to deceive an audience: Occasional imprecision is a stylistic device, the post production was skipped, unpolished rough edges remain. Live Series Vol.1 is coming with the tracks "Alpha" and "Smash". This year at least 3 more releases of this series will appear on Basmati.

Now Techno has its own fair trade. Basmati, the new label by Gabriel Ananda (artist direction) and Marcel Janovsky (management), does not indulge in pretentious bragging.
Epic tracks are rarely seen in such a light-footed mood: Gabriel Ananda shakes his hairdo again, this time in cooperation with floor hope Daniel Mehlhart and the pioneers from Superstition's Quazar. The results are two genre-bending tracks, whose friendliness makes them look like 10 minute long wolves in sheep's clothing. Pinpoint funk with panoramic view, coming from true masters of all classes.
