"The Classic Age" can be considered a homage to the influences that nourished Rotciv's career thorughout the past years. From the piano lines, to the bassline, from the beats to the chords, the listener is taken through a myriad of references: from the rhythmic staccatto strings of Hip-House, to the hectic grooves of Italo Disco and the unmistakable Detroit melodies. Remixes from AJELLO and TERRENCE PARKER

A1. ROTCIV - Elev8tion
A2. ROTCIV - Elev8tion (Massimiliano Pagliara Remix)
B1. ROTCIV - Unbelievable
B2. ROTCIV - Muquifo
B3. ROTCIV - The Morning After
Short Info:
After two stellar Split EPs with Das Komplex, Brazilian sound wizard ROTCIV delivers his first
Solo EP on Luv Shack Records. With 4 intricate original cuts and a Massimiliano Pagliara remix,
the Elev8tion EP is a bold testament to modern EBM.
The titular track sets the stage with a firework of dramatic synths, brash elektro beats and a
fluttering acid line, finding a perfect balance between dancefloor appeal and leftfield
quirkiness.
Italian maestro Massimiliano Pagliara remixes "Elev8tion" in a straightforward fashion, opting
for a percussion heavy drummachine pattern, a driving bassline and additional synth melodies,
yet incorporating the original 303 to great effect.
On "Unbelievable", ROTCIV lays out a complex carpet of alternating arpeggios, heavily automated
synth melodies and an array of weird vocal snippets, atop a minimalistic electronic drum track.
"Muquifo", which literally translates to flophouse or dump (or shack?), is a slow burning
breakbeat track with eerie strings and tripped out acid melodics, making it a hot contender for
future afterhours.
"The Morning After" is a similarly low slung track, with a broken beat and a distinct
industrial flair, yet the synth melodies strike a more hopeful chord and have an almost

B2. Bubbles The Chimp
B3. Soundwaves
Short info:
Hot on the heels of their proud new charity project and first ever compilation ‘Freeride Millenium presents Queer Base’, this agenda setting label returns with an evocative new EP from Brazilian artist Rotciv, also appearing on vinyl in collaboration with Pauls Musique.
DJing since 1996 and Berlin based since 2010, Rotciv has been playing places like the acclaimed Panorama Bar, Frankfurt’s legendary Robert Johnson club and the Cocktail D’Amore parties for many years. He runs Mister Mistery, a label focused on house music, while also releasing himself on Luv Shack, Unterton (Ostgut Ton) Skylax and many more. All this comes alongside his The Rimshooters project with Massimiliano Pagliara.
He kicks off this fresh EP with 'Number of Names', a rugged roller on the border between house and techno with a phased bassline and rolling chords that get you in a meditative state. The more upbeat 'Glutamate Transmission' gets you shifting shapes with its daubs of acid, crisp percussive flashes and busy bassline, then 'True Colour' has an old school Chicago feel with its chatty claps and acid lines. The moods continue to evolve with style on 'Bubbles The Chimp', a tense cut of broken techno, futuristic machine sounds and lively synths. Beautiful ambient closer 'Soundwaves' is a lush comedown amongst the stars.
This is a fully formed and journeying EP of fantastic underground sounds with artwork by Daniel Rajcsanyi.

Rotciv - Intermission
Rotciv is the Brasilian born, Berlin based man behind Mister Mistery records. This prolific producer has been out there for quite a long time and you might remember "The Rimshooters", the long lasting collaboration with Massimiliano Pagliara himself. Now it is time for Rotciv to offer a piece of his synthesisers' craftsmanship to Funnuvojoere Records. This five tracker EP expresses Rotciv's skills with harmony and music progression. A1 AWAKENING starts off with a piano house arpeggio and slowly evolves into a trance acid-tinged explosive motive. Organic feeling drums develop giving it a disco touch that will put a smile on the crowded dance floor. A2 GOOD SPELL combines a pure cosmic style with a New Beat-like dissonance and uplifting vocals. B1 KNOW THE UNKNOWN keeps the experimentation levels high with distortions and an 8bit dialogue that drifts into a progressive-kind of sound. Deeper than the rest B2 puts on stage a dark landscape that reminds of a black and white vampire movie. B3 INTERMISSION follows up and gives the final ambient touch to this delightful EP.

D-Edge Records are proud to present Black Belt, the debut album from Brazilian DJ, producer, club and label boss Renato Ratier. After emerging with some already impressive EPs, the time has now come for a full artistic statement that spans 17 tracks of slo mo electronics, deep house ambiance and tripped out, disco inflected grooves. Rather than this being a collection of dancefloor tracks, its more a carefully programmed journey that takes you up and down through many different moods and grooves, but all of them untied by Ratier's analogue textures, unfamiliar hooks and futuristic melodies. Opening with the found sound recordings and muffled ambiance of 'Love Me Tokyo' the album goes through the funky licks of 'Jamaicanese', the well-sampled 'Midnight Sun' and freewheel- ing deep house and ethereal melodies of 'Teatime'. The latter half of the album points more towards the dancefloor with the title track's knotted bassline, the deep and spaced out house hypnosis of 'Fetisshu' and plenty more besides. It's a stunning debut from one of Brazil's most important figures.
