To kick-start the FINA Campaign we literally hunted high and low to find an artist and sound that we felt would represent us and give a statement of intent. What we didn’t expect was for this search to take us south of the equator and into to the deep southern hemisphere. This is not the first place that you would expect to hear warm, deep underground house but this is exactly what you get with the Melbourne based Mic Newman. And thinking about it, it doesn’t get warmer or deeper than Melbourne does it? Mic is a young producer who we believe is destined for greatness. Hugo Barritt was a promoter at London's infamous 'Egg' venue, during which time he focused his attention on Robert Owen's residency at the club. A friendship was struck up and when Hugo finally decided to leave to concentrate on production he could think of no-one better to provide the vocal's to 'You Are' than the most recognisable voice in dance music, Mr Owens himself. Befitting such a wonderful coupling, Efdemin heard the track and agreed immediately to provide the remix, and a splendidly slick ride it is too, taking the merest hints of Roberts vocal whilst injecting a melodic feel for a blissed out ride through the early hours. Contrast that with high octane thrill's of murmur regular Tom Demac's remix - dispensing with the subtleties of the original in favour of a power house ride of beats and bass, warping Robert's vocal into something altogether sleazier.

Up & coming talent Jay Shepheard provides the first remix; fresh from his latest excursion on this own Retrofit label, Jay firms up the beats & percussion, adding a catchy b'line and twinkling synth work into proceeding. Finally, Inxec & Andrei Osyka up the stakes, taking the core elements of Hamid's original and taking them to new euphoric heights with an altogether more epic vibe.

Dance music legend Chez Damier dusts down this past murmur hit by commander in chief Geddes and Mic Newman to produce two house versions. 'Chez Damier's Alternative Remix' is already setting the dancefloor of the Panorama Bar ablaze due to solid support from the ever excellent Cassy; with it's rolling groove, shuffling percussion and tough drums it looks set to be a staple in many more dj's boxes over the following months. Chez's Flute mix loosens up the percussion and injects a slightly deeper musical feeling and makes it a more than worthy alternative choice.

murmur’s main label returns after more than a years absence with an artist who has undergone something of a transformation of late with a future release set for the revitalised and highly revered ‘Classic’ label, Marc Ashken eschews the more stripped down, minimal beats of past releases to bring together a more phatter, housier sound in collaboration with Fabio Teti on ‘Don Do Dat’ and Floyd Lavine on flip side track ‘Do Dat’. ‘Don Do Dat’ is s chunky house main room house groover and will no doubt be a key feature in many a djs box over the coming months. Flip for the ‘Anonym’ remix of ‘Do Dat’ for a techier workout whilst the original version rounds off the package with an altogether more uplifting jaunt.
