Tracklist
A1. Two Planets B1. Black Glitz B2. Maskull
Shortinfo:
After a quick 4 years hiatus, filled with releases on Innervisions, Maeve and a couple of remixes, Aera is finally back on his own Aleph Music imprint with 3 unique tracks.
A1. Two Planets is the most obvious track of the EP. An exercise in outsider trance, a pulsating, polyrhythmic synth propels the track forward, the intricate 707 pattern keeps a steady pace, while background strings provide all the drama.
B1. Stylistically reminiscent of Aera's first releases on Aleph Music, Black Glitz is the deepest track of the bunch. Floating on a cloud of dreamy pads and voices, that arpeggio makes you realise immediately who you are dealing with.
B2. Maskull is a rather ambiguous little tune. Somewhat rough around the edges, sparkling in the darkness of late nights, dwelling in voices and fog, this is the one for the heads.

aera - You Know Juno
Maeve is the record label run by three close friends, Mano Le Tough, The Drifter and Baikal. Some years ago, Mano and The Drifter ran a clubnight in Berlin called Passion Beat. Aera was their guest a couple of times. It's very fitting that Aera now joins us for Maeve 06. Aera's original "You Know Juno" comprises of warm arps and a dark hypnotic bassline over a jacking house beat. On first hearing the track, The Drifter was keen to do a remix. His interpretation is a dark take on the original, boosting the bassline, adding a driving beat and pushing the drama to high levels.

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." Marcel Proust
Berlin-based producer Aera has been travelling off the beaten path ever since he first went on the road with his Aleph Music label back in 2010. With only 5 releases he already laid out his very own musical topography in the borderlands in between House, UK bass and psychedelia.
Aera is now excited to present his debut album, Offseason Traveller. It is a personal notebook of his voyage of discovery to the vast landscapes of Peru and Bolivia, fleeing Berlin in pursuit of new ideas, eyes and ears. Drawing upon influences as diverse as German krautrock, Detroit machine funk, South American ethnic percussion and UK bass music, Offseason Traveller takes the listener on an exploration through the ever active imagination of Aera. Album concepts are hard to shape with regards to electronic dance music, but Aera has sequenced his debut just right.
From the opening off-beat ambience of 'Kiss Off' and 'Baby - Comet - Face', the joyful, morning glow of 'Fever Beach' and the dusky, dubby 'Cambio' we are taken to the swinging, jacking, 303-drenched peaks of 'Leaving The Fiction' and 'Chevere' towards the trotting Shaolin funk of 'Die Pferden'. The syncopated beatdown-ish funk of 'Viejo Loco', the blippy space-opera of 'Flipside Of Time' and the industrial, Carpenter-esqe filmscore of 'Tunguska' close the harder, more percussive mid-section of the album. To finish our voyage of discovery, 'Iguazu Express' takes the listener into the closing straits with a spine-shaking, deep house groove while 'By The Red Lake' berths us at our home port with sparkling keys, evocative vibrations and squelching waves of joy. The Album was cut and mastered by CGB at D&M and will be distributed worldwide by Wordandsound as CD, 2x12" (incl. Downloadcode) and digital. Presscontact: [email protected]

Track list: A1. Chevere - B1. Flipside Of Time B2. Die Pferden
After hiding in the shadows for more than one year, Aera is finally back in business with the "Silver & Black EP" on his own Aleph Music imprint. However, he was definitely not lazy in between. After releasing an EP on Circus Company alongside Marc Schneider, remixing Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, having his first singles remixed by Mano Le Tough, Area aka M50 and Wasted Gaze and finishing his first album which will see the light of day early 2013, it is about time for a new record. Mutating at the unusual speed of 149 BPM, "Chevere" is an ever changing, sizzling beast of a track with snakelike twist and turns, thunderous drums and acid-drenched leads. "Flipside Of Time" just builds and builds and builds. Take some classic Juno-strings, trademark Aera arpeggios, add some noise, a nasty kick-drum and some more noise, this is it. A twisted anthem for the brave. After this kind of heavy onslaught, "Die Pferden" takes the time to kick back a little and deliver something more conventional - at least in Aera's terms: built upon a chopped up, slightly skipping vinyl sample, an evolving, reverb bathed bass-line and some chunky drums.

3
Aera, - What's My Name Again?
Aleph04 comes with three special reinterpretations of the labels first three eps.
Mano Le Tough is first in line. His remix of "Flowers On Fire" from Aleph01 takes the originals colorful and spaced out vibes and puts them into a little more dancefloor friendly context, with a big 808 booming away and the swirls of the original synthline driving the track forward.
Mano has been a big supporter of the label right from the start and his releases on Permanent Vacation, Buzzin' Fly or Internasjonal have been turning heads quite a lot, so it's an honour to have him on board.
The second remix is by Wasted Gaze. This newcomer from Vilnius / Lithuania delivers an amazing version of "Port Hope", taken from Aleph02. A powerful, 2Step / Garage inspired beat sets the pace, while glowing pads, a super deep bass and enigmatic vocals take care of the rest. Watch this guy, his "Untitled States EP" on Partyzanai is one of the most intersting and exciting records in a long time.
The last track is a remix by Area aka M50 from Chicago, who, quite fittingly, took care of this spaced out take on "What's My Name Again?" from Aleph03. This one is for the heads, a special gem that will work magic in the early morning hours. Area has just released a stunning album on Francois K's Wave Music and will be playing at the Aleph Music Labelnight in Horst Krzbrg / Berlin on 30.04.
As this is a remix ep, the layout and design has been reinterpreted by Skism of Lodown Magazine, who brought a fresh and stylish approach to this records look.

"O god, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space"
- Shakespeare
A1: "daidalus" redefines some of the ideas already put forth in Aleph 01: dance music is not a prison.
A2: "Hoverboarding" is more of a concept which could not be put into words than an actual piece of music. An experiment in infrasonic structures.
B1: "Port Hope" is not a place - it is a state of mind.
B2: "Week Of Fear" has no particular meaning. Just the ramblings of some castaway on his desert island, waiting for a ship to come.

Tracklist

Aera, - Week Of Fear
"O god, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space"
- Shakespeare
A1: "daidalus" redefines some of the ideas already put forth in Aleph 01: dance music is not a prison.
A2: "Hoverboarding" is more of a concept which could not be put into words than an actual piece of music. An experiment in infrasonic structures.
B1: "Port Hope" is not a place - it is a state of mind.
B2: "Week Of Fear" has no particular meaning. Just the ramblings of some castaway on his desert island, waiting for a ship to come.
