Ziggy Kinder's last outing on Souvenir proved to be one of the highlights of 2007. Bailamos, a record destined to make love to the converging world's of European techno and south American latin music was hailed by artists like Laurent Garnier, Koze and Mike Shannon for its mysterious melodies and enveloping percussion while the A-side Que Pasa Maria was championed by Anja Schneider and Radioslave.
Fans of Tiefschwarz's daring Souvenir imprint will be in no doubt as to what lies in store for the label's tenth release. 'Flipflop Crash' is another typically Ziggy workout destined for a discerning international dancefloor. Disorientating percussion and flanging effects dance around an insistent throbbing bassline while a female vocal whispers in French. The warm melodies layering the track hint at the sultriness of 'Bailamos,' but this is a continuation not a revisitation and an impressive step forward for Ziggy's sound. On the flip Chilean star Pier Bucci takes up the remix reigns. After impressing with his ahead-of-its-time Familia LP on Crosstown Rebels in 2005 and last year's club bomb Hay Consuelo, his addition to the Souvenir roster is another memorable recruitment with current label remix talents including artists like Carl Craig, Tiefschwarz, Shonky, Samim, Kiki & Silversurfer and Radioslave. His interpretation adds an injection of urgency to Ziggy's original, stripping the vocals back to a minimum to make way for an epic delay soaked synth hook. It's a remix destined for the end of a night or that perfect plateau of a party when the dancefloor has been moving for hours waiting for a hypnotising melody such as this to sweep it onto another level.

WIR is back with a senior member of Colognes techno scene.?Marian Mueller, known as co founder of Mueller & Mitch, presents a sample based track, reminiscent of his past as a hip hop producer. With it's relaxed, deep and driving feel, it's perfectly fitting in an outdoor scenario.?Playing at a mutual friend's party, labelhead Marcel Janovsky heard the tune and decided to release it. Accompanied by two brilliant remixes, catalogue number 25 combines versatility and quality: The first remix comes from Florence based live act Giorgia Angiuli. She's known for releases on Crosstown Rebels, Souvenir or Harry Klein Records as well as performances all over Europe.?The second remix is contributed by Tim Engelhardt. Only 17 years old, he's looking back at numerous releases on labels like Parquet, Babiczstyle, Traum or Poker Flat.

Hamburg residents Jakob Seidensticker and Bardia Salour, together known as Seidensticker & Salour are hardly newcomers to the scene. Jakob has been producing music as one third of the internationally known Wareika, and Bardia has made a name for himself through playing regularly amongst the Hamburg club circuit. The two of them have come together in 2010 to release EPs on labels like VoidCom, Einmaleins, and URSL. The boys now host a regular event dubbed "Dance For Fans" at Hamburg's most prestigious venue, the EGO club, and with impressive lists of guests to say the least. The two share a love for minimal / dub Techno that is evident in their productions as well as their DJ sets. They keep the vibe easy, chill, and relaxed. They have a knack for creating intricate music that is easy to understand and more importantly, easy to enjoy. "Welcome To Our Ageing Chamber", their debut for WIR is a wonderful illustration of their talent. They have kept the soundscape free from overwhelming textures and effects, leaving room for each instrument. The piano in "Golden Times" is a perfect example. Each element fits, as if they have been producing together for years.

In his biography, Arjuna Schiks is described as a producer with an ability to bring the human out of the machine, unleashing our emotions. After listening to "Doha", we were affected in the same way. Simply put, his music makes us feel good. Melodic accents and danceable rhythms blend in purposeful unison, and it is with the "Doha EP" that Arjuna will join WIR. He has appeared on Gem Records, Manual Music, Traum, and Trapez, with original EPs, and has recently graced a number of labels with remixes, leaving his signature on each EP. His production output is impressive, and like most greats, his sound continues to grow and develop with each studio session.
Arjuna resides in Amsterdam, where he has developed a distinct and solid sound, and a loyal fan base. He performs live close to every weekend all over Holland. We invited Arjuna to come and perform as the special guest at our Treibstoff 14,5 year anniversary party for his first ever performance on German soil. His set was received with smiling faces and hands in the air, coming from the brimming dance floor of Cologne's Gewölbe; a warm welcome to say the least. We had the pleasure of spending some time together after the event, and his character is just like his music. He is a cheerful and passionate person with a bright sense of humor and we are elated to welcome him to WIR. Keep your ears open, for there is more to come..

WIR resident Daniel Mehlhart reports back with his customary brand of compelling sound synthesis and frenetically grooving beat patterns. The main track "Deep Crazy Synth" spins its way through to the top of the mountain, keeping the peak in view, sporting full-blown mood and delivering one hell of a show on the center stage. And when it's not making out on the dance floor, this track's having a good time at the bar, listening to the newest gossip and featuring an open ear for every dancer's needs and worries. Minilogue seem to like that kind of attitude, so they treat the original like a good friend and give it the love it deserves. Their "Dismantling The Storm" remix includes chilled soulfulness as well as some truly psychoactive vibes and makes this EP a real winner. More

As DJ and as live act, France's Nhar certainly knows how to tweak the controls. He's transmitting his message on every channel, sporting his personal recipe for dancefloor mayhem, consisting of driving beats, melancholic euphoria and some other ingredients meant to stay a secret. On diverse labels like Mobilee, Plak or Modelisme, the former member of the 22 Crew shines with his panoramic view, melodic depth of focus and concise footwork. That love has to be rewarded, so Kompakt's Jörg Burger, a.k.a. the Modernist throws in one of his rare remixes for "Close Up", delivering that bonus punch and enhancing the original's charm with the razor-sharp musical scale he's become known for.
