2010 marks its tenth anniversary, and to celebrate, label owner Woody has compiled ten new, exclusive tracks from the roster, including Felipe Venegas, Livio & Roby, Valenzuela & Casarano, Leix & Ronro, Larsson, Alejandro Vivanco, Danny Fiddo, Autotune and of course Woody himself.
Over the past ten years, the Fumakilla team has been weaving 1s and 0s into intricate patterns, establishing itself as a source for sexy and pumpin' club tracks with a sophisticated, artful bend (matched by its award-winning record sleeve designs). The dance label has gained a reputation of quality over quantity, with around 40 releases (including sublabel Fumalab) in its decade of existence, allowing creativity to flow at its own pace, striving toward a certain timeless quality. This compilation's ten hand-picked productions serve as a state-of-the-union of Fumakilla's international crew, from mellow grooves to galloping jams, deep and techno-house.´But wait, there's more! As you may know, Woody is not just a producer and label owner, but also a distinguished DJ, and for the compilation's second disc, he's mixed an audio excursion of additional tracks from Fumakilla's back catalog. The one-hour mix serves as a balanced overview of the past ten years, including his own track-as-mission-statement "Fumakilla Funk" from 2000, his remix of Autotune's "Dirty", plus other hits and lesser-known tracks from the likes of Jona, Paul Ritch, The Dose and Livio & Roby. On the flip the chilean mates Felipe Valenzuela & Dani Casarano join with a deep hypnotic funky track "Gallinerio" and old the heros Autotune doing a circus caravan rolling journey with deep basses & soft sounds scapes called "Mutant" on b2. The release is a perfect combination of groovy sounds with funky percussions and a beautifully deep house funk with a short warm vintage synthesis. But the wait is over! Berlin-based Woody recently invited some new blood into his studio: Chilean labelmates (and Cadenza affiliates) Felipe Valenzuela and Dani Casarano. The results of their session easily break from the formulaic dancefloor cuts we’ve been hearing lately: “Woman” will seduce you gently at first, but by the time the groove builds up, she’ll have you completely captivated, a combination of techno energy, house chords and disco string accents. “Woman” is an instant classic for these springtime months, emanating pheromones into the air. This single-sided 12" includes the original, nearly ten-minute, version, although you can expect some remixes from top-tier names later this year, and plenty more solid material as Fumakilla celebrates its tenth anniversary. The Chile house connection continues to sling the dopest stuff to our floors, barely satisfying the constant craving of dancers and punters worldwide for the highly addictive mixture of salacious latin polyrhythmics and organic afro inspired drum sounds with universal electronic 4/4 beats. Cut and wraped up neatly by Chile born and fastly rising don Felipe Valenzuela and swiss expat Dani Casarano, this duo continues with this heated 3 tracker to further cement their reputation from earlier releases on Fumalab as a highly combustible combination: elastic compulsively grooving house beats are intervowen with latin-american call and response vocals in “otra vida”, the fittingly titled “push” constantly builds up the pressure even in the breakdowns with frantic, flamenco style hand clapping and “the little house” with it’s disco style bassline and the conga driven beat hints at the fruitful marriage of latin, soul and dance music in the melting pot of 70’s New York. A brilliant 3 tracker offering on the a side with "dawn of the stallion" a sureshot par excellence. Sorry but things have to be named as they are these days. superb shuffling groove, solid synthsignals and a nearly classic pianochord. That´s all but that´s oh so effective. hell yeah, new jona record on fumakilla, called "swamp" ep and from the very first second he shows the right direction, "swamp" is walking the line between tech house and post-detroitish soundstructures.warm and hypnotic fragments will be the new deadly weapon in early morning hours for sure, this chord monster demonstrate who is playing in the first league at the moment, it is jonas again, well known for his stunning tunes on labels like get physical, resopal, toys for boys and for sure for his incredible tune on fumakilla number 019 called "tap stroke" (#fk019) wich appealed everybody.on the flip another pretty nice piece of music named "fields".this one comes around with a nasty club friendly formation, nice modulations and a peaktime guarenteed pretty little melody, spherical chords and a splendidly constructed drumwork wich gets directly to the point again.it seems jona is the man of the hour, his idea of modern club music offers unequaled opportunities, swamp that thing, baby!

Update 2.0 of woodys already successfull “whatever” series. Minimal not Minimal is the name of the game here! Open produced and very fresh and full sounding the two to long and intensely reduced tracks are immediately touching, thrilling and are much thicker cut than your ordinary berlin click track. You could almost call it “Maximal” , hehe ;) Again side a is a kicking stylish electronic build up theme – reduction with just the right punch(the one that is missing so often these days,hehe)and great compressed bliss that simply rocks unstoppable once you get hooked into this unique below the line killer groove. 8 minutes that just fly by like a “Hot Rod” and you´re immediately tempted to stay “tuned” , hand the keys over to wood and let him do the driving for the next 10 hours or so! “Dakini” is more dark and mystical in appeal with a sturdy bassline and wicked nervous infrastructure making the whole gem as another two double a side 12”. Fumakilla venture in international artist directions this time. Up is newcomer Jonathan Troupin aka JONA (upcoming releases on Get Physical Music, etc), who delivers an easy (not leightweight!) , clean and highly usable ultrasturdy clicked out dance floor 2 tracker. "Operation O" and "Monjey Money" are both extremely well crafted ventures into pounding crunchy and hi densed fluffy minimal house. a cutting edge techfunk eclectism with high presence which has to be his signature sound by now and the sound system you play this on can just not be big enough. Jona tracks catch you from "outside in", intense storming bleeped out electro house freakiness, with enough variation & stamina for a true dance floor bonanza!!! Jonathan Troupin was born in 1983 in Liège, Belgium. His background is technical (audio engineer since 2000) as well as musical (he has been playing the guitar for 12 years). He's not a "one lucky shot" producer but always trying to explore new ways of sounding...making emotions talk. like fumakilla. so get on and get both in one!

berlin's heroes of the night AUTOTUNE have done it again for FUMAKILLA. after month of carful and steady toiling in the studio, "department #1" has the Autotune tech-house touch but elves into deeper waters. "little machine" is a track for the night, burning but steady, building to bust. it will get the kids on the floor, no holds bar. "night shift" has traces of french house without loosing any of the power that Autotune are known for churning out. the third offering on the EP, the aptly named "le sound hypnotique" with memorable vocal samples is just right for keeping it going in the early morn. Autotune's work has paid off with this exquisitely produced EP, and the world's dancefloors will be thankful. More
