South West Seven is Disco, Jazz Funk, Soul & Boogie with a Deep House twist – all rehashed, re-edited and fused by Northern Irish production duo Ric McClelland (better known as Scope) & Sean Grieve. The duo kicked things off with their debut release on Detroit's Kolour Limited in autumn 2010. The beautiful three track vinyl ep was favoured by the likes of The Revenge, Cottam or Iron Curtis and propelled South West Seven straight into the underground limelight. Since then they have also delivered some excellent re-edits, available free on their Soundcloud. Here we have their second release ’Mels Pockets’ which comes once again on limited coloured vinyl and complete with a dream team on remix duties. The original cut is a slow grooving musical ride with true soul, emotion and sincerity. A must in any real DJ's box! Top drawer mixes are contributed by Pete Herbert who turns the track into a proper funky Nu disco dancefloor workout and OOFT! diggin’ deep in Mels Pockets to delivers an early morning sunrise special with shades of Chez & Trent.

No sleep for those guys at Shabby Doll Records. Not long since Nail's Lost Trax 1997 sold out shortly after going on sale, and they are already about to drop SHB014... This time Shabby Doll bring a killer package from two of the most highly respected men in house music today - South West Seven. South West Seven are Montel and Sean Grieve. These guys have a track record to die for. Their collab label 'Seven Music' has released tracks from the likes of COEO, Rhythm Operator, Giovanni Damico, Death On The Balcony and of course the man Montel himself. As a production duo, they’ve released on labels Kolour Ltd, On The Prowl, Sccucci Manucci, Carry On, and Solardisco. But when Shabby Doll came calling, shit got serious. The result was three shimmering new cuts, on yellow vinyl no less.
It's a vibrant thing! The EP is BT1. Strong. P.S. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, along comes Shabby Doll favourite, 'Quell' on the remix.

South West Seven, - MOVE BACK
Northern Irish garage/house duo Ric McClelland and Sean Grieve make a guest appearance for NYC's On The Prowl! Some of you might know Ric from Seven Music, NRK, Large Records, Night Drive...etc. Together they join forces for "If You Want / Move Back" with remixes by Giorgio Luceri and Club Silencio, both of whom have had previous releases on OTP (Club Silencio being an alter ego of Robotalco). "If You Want" gets things moving with a deep house style layered with a big upfront bassline and super lush pads that are straight outta Detroit! Built to please big rooms in the early morning. A2 has Club Silencio showing his remix finesse by adding some organ key stabs in the "Gypsey Women" territory. Proper early 90's house vibes but still maintaining a modern edge. "Move Back" shifts the mood toward a more disco feel with balaeric style guitars and laid back and groovey bassline. On the remix Luceri adds his music touch while keeping things driving with steady snare fills and old school drums.

martin heimann - Salto (Jex Opolis Remix)
Special Remarks: 180gr vinyl, stickered cover, 200 copies only
Tracklist:
A1 Salto (Original), A2 Salto (Moon B Bubblin' Mix), B1 Salto (Jex Opolis Remix)
Short info:
Frankfurt based producer, DJ and music lover Martin Heimann presents his debut single "Salto" on Carry On 008. Remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while.
Enrooted in the soundscapes of 80s proto house the original version of "Salto" is a thriving piece of octave liberation. Consistent changes between harmonics break up the repetitive structure, while FM pads and the 303 are performing a little duet.
The release is ennobled by two proper remixes from Moon B (Peoples Potential Unlimited) and Jex Opolis (Good Timin'). While Moon B keeps it bubblin' with some extra analogue funk bounce and subtle Italo dance floor energy, the B-Side is Jexi-fied with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. On top Mr. Opolis adds some mysterious but cheesy vocals samples that match perfect with the moody 80s orchestral stabs.

The charismatic original tracks Answering Machine and Pager are backed up with club friendly reinterpretations of the title track done by the two befriended Berlin sound magicians Quarion and Iron Curtis. Quite rightly labelled one of Berlin's best kept musical secrets, Jules is an ambitious multi-instrumentalist, singer and a composer. Unable to settle down into a music genre he is part of numerous enthusiastic projects ranging from folky pop to disco and house. After a small hiatus Matthias Vogt and C-Rock finally got back together in the studio to present another Motorcitysoul masterpiece and convincing follow-up to last years Carry On single. The song features conspicuous vocals by the drumming singer-songwriter Phil Fill making it an eager and exhilarating confession to the playground love. The remixes of Lithuanian standout producer Mario Basanov contribute pure dancefloor magic. While the Vocal Remake offers a sentimental 80s disco feast, the Remix version is riding his distinctive Vilnius deep house vibe. A promising foretaste to Basanov's upcopming full length album "Journey".

There's something happening, it's in the air tonight… Chasing Kurt return to Carry On with a love injecting two track EP. While the original tracks 'In The Air' and 'Galaxy Hero' enthuse because of their emotional deepness, the revised vocal-less versions of Phillip Lauer and Deep Space Orchestra are nailing it down seductively on the dancefloor. The release will be available on limited coloured vinyl in September 2012. Chasing Kurt is a deep house project from Germany brought to life by the producer team Pascal Blanché and Wojtek Kutschke featuring the heartfelt lyrics of polish soul crooner Lukas Poloczek. Their debut single 'Daydream' on Carry On earned a lot of appreciating feedback in 2010 like Laurent Garnier's praise: "This is superb, such a lovely deepness." Their second single 'Money' on Good Ratio Music took them even further in 2011. The low slung, dark and exhorting track climbed to #12 of the Groove Magazin charts and was picked by standout producer Maya Jane Coles for her episode of the famous DJ Kicks series.

Never not working, Elef well deserved has become one of the closest watched talents in the deep house scene. Born half Greek / half supermodel the Berlin based producer has dropped some remarkable releases on Dirt Crew, Murmur and Hypercolour. In an act of reciprocal affection Elef and Carry On joined forces to create the lovely Nuff Said EP, soon to be available on limited coloured vinyl. The EP kicks off with "Black Hole" featuring Elef's signature melodramatic chord structure, some quirky percussion and a captivating Motown vocal sample. The incredible Gerd remix will end up in a lot of record cases - a dancefloor no brainer! On the flip "Nuff Said" incorporates an old school bassline with those beautiful emotional chords again. The ambitious UK trio Zoo Look strips it all back to what deep house really is nowadays - a groovy squarebass and atmospheric pads.

Here it comes, straight from the heart, the CARRY ON theme by the masters of all things House: MOTORCITYSOUL. The sanguine composition comes in two original versions, as each member of the well regarded production duo brings forth an individual approach on the topic. CARRY ON CRUISING delivers a fine, musical atmosphere that breathes the skills, talents and passion of trained jazz musician MATTHIAS VOGT, working the classic Juno 106 synth deep and lovely. Meanwhile, CARRY ON COWBOY takes you on a somewhat rougher ride. A little more dirt and grip, slight nuances of Chandler and Ferrer - and a most definite C-ROCK touch! A party starter for sure, already stashed in the saddlebags of Will Kane, Ben Cartwright, Fuzzy Jones, Butch Cassidy, Harmonica, Jesse James, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Making the release a sure shot three pointer, the remix by GOOD GUY MIKESH & FILBURT completes the package in an eclectic way. Merging proto disco elements with minimal deep house they manage to stretch the musical approach even further than the original versions.
