Shakarchi & Stranéus inhabit a secret place in the universe of music, one existing at the intersection of
Scandinavian poplands, Hisingen forest raves and outernational placelessness.
Faik Shakarchi and Daniel Stranéus famously started making beats together in the Gothenburg tapas-joint
coat check where they both worked as clerks. Their now 10 years old friendship is the story of legends, their
sparse vinyl output the secret love of deep house 12'' enthusiasts round the globe – the warm, vibrant sounds
found on those records a stark contrast to the stripped-down effectiveness of their marathon DJ sets, frequently
heard within the more nefarious examples of GBG nightlife.
The duo has also been a part of Studio Barnhus since the very beginning, first letting us into their strange and
cozy world with the Dödskallar och korallrev EP in 2010, effectively turning what was then a one-release
operation into a Record Label.
The distinctive sound of that early material (described by one Discogs commenter as “enlightened, naive future
dub for children”) has been expanded upon and further defined on their debut album Steal Chickens from Men
and the Future from God, its 12 cuts lovingly selected from a plethora of works floating in and out of makeshift
studios from Storgatan to Gamlestan over the last 7 years. The record took its final form at Nacksving, same
place where recent albums from Talaboman and Kornél Kovács were sonically perfected in cahoots with mix
engineer Matt Karmil.
Steal Chickens from Men and the Future from God is released on all digital platforms, as CD and as DJ friendly
double vinyl on March 23rd 2018. The label and the artists wish to thank Statens kulturråd for their endless
patience during the creation of this masterpiece. More

Two new tracks from Gothenburg's Shakarchi & Straneus coupled with two remixes of 'Liseberg', the enlightened schaffel hymn found on their previous Barnhus release. Trust us - when the apprehensive first part of ''Something…'' evolves into full on, heartwarming house riff mania, spectacular things happen on the floor. Then we have 'Jamison' - based around a few simple harmonic elements, this is a lovely warm blanket of sound. No beats, pure bliss... and don't you dare call it a dj tool! On the flipside, Portable delivers a psychedelic dancehall epic sprinkled with the melodies of the original 'Liseberg'. Last up, London's mains-hum maestro turns 'Liseberg' into a colourful, echoing dub ballad.

Who is DJ Fett Birger?? It’s DJ Fett Burger, stupid. Geography Records straight outta Malmö, Sverige has awoken. Please make room in your record collection for more stupid stuff from Sweden’s third biggest city, home of great falafel and bad clubs. Our fat friend from Moss, Norge takes some parts from Shakarchi & Stranéus eternal 2013 hit single ”Either Way” (GEO 005) and turns it into a dreamy cheese-pop track ready for full, half-full and really empty dance floors. On the flip side the Burg’ teams up with underground Finnish talent Stiletti Ana for a literal take on the SNL quote ”more cowbell”. Please play it loud. For the third side of this single record release, Burga’ Fett flangs it out with a US style bonus beats, strictly for the DJs! With this, you can play our record with an even nicer record on top! Also perfect for shout outs, birthday wishes during sets or when you’re just really tired of melody and bass. All in all, a solid three track release to make it up to you that we forgot to release a record in like 1,5 years. Sorry about that. GEO 008 is already done, so don’t worry it wont be long until the next one! Regards, Adam & Oscar

Giovanni Damico (White Rabbit Recordings/Ragrange Records - Salerno) is maybe the most productive producer we've ever come across. And we're not just talking quantity, we're talking quality! For Geography Records sixth release we've had so much fantastic material to choose from so we decided to put out two EP's by Giovanni. The first one is called "Cuttin, Samplin, Housin Part One”. Ranging from the kind of beautiful house music Geography has been known for since the release of Julius Steinhoff’s epic Out In The Woods EP back in 2011 on the A-side to the more fun loving style of the B-side, reminding us of our two latest Top 40 hit-records by Real Cool and Shakarchi & Stranéus.

What’s cooler than being cool? Real Cool! It’s the verge of summer and we got some banging tunes for you. The record of the year has arrived.
The fourth release on Geography is the debut 12? from our hometown homeboys Real Cool. The EP is called “Eighties Children EP” and is a playful house record including a 90's NYC house banger with a dubby moog solo, a groovy bass driven jazzy piano spoken word track, and the beautiful nu-disco influenced b-side with Bruce Hornsbyesq piano and Detroitish synth pads. Real Cool are Patrik Andersson and Johannes Kjellgren from Geography’s hometown Malmo Sweden. Patrik is one of Swedens ruffest hiphop producers and Johannes is a long time disco dj and record collector. Together they make the best of house! Look out for this one and our future releases. Geography is our name and house is our game.

Just in time for the summer we give you our third release Geography 003. The excellent 12? is the result of two interesting collaborations between some of Amsterdam’s finest with one common denominator: DJ extraordinaire Esther Duijn. On GEO 003 she teams up with long time studio mate Steady Douglas and delivers two fantastic tracks. Duijn & Douglas has got a fine history with releases on such labels as Nowar, Studio Soulrock, Feelharmonic and Exquisite Music. The third track “Just Close Your Eyes and…” is produced by Esther and new talent Campati. It features Berenice on smooth vocals and it’s their first ever release! The three track EP is spanning from deep slow-mo disco house to dubby techno. Don’t sleep on this one!

The second release from Geography Records is the debut solo EP by the very talented Julius Steinhoff of Smallville Records. Steinhoff sets a beautiful atmospheric mood throughout the EPs three tracks. Starting of with the warm and vibrant “Mischief Of One and Another”, then the straight forward yet subtle “Out In he Woods” and ending it with the mesmerizing “Zealand”. “Out In the Woods EP” is a future classic whitin modern deep electronic music. Julius previous outings consist mainly of collaborations and split EPs on such great labels as Underground Quality, Laid and of course his own imprint Smallville. On GEO 002 Julius gets the entire record for himself and the result is a magic 12? which we are happy and proud to share with all of you.
