Format:B are back in single business!
After their successful high-sea album, the two allow themself a short holiday in the romantic sample land, boiling a hissing, primeval soup called "Drawn" to a ravers potion with which Obelix would have smashed up the Romans for the next 2000 years to come.
As solid as the A1 bomb, the B-side continues. Spinning formatesque towards sonic speed, the title "Rise" lives up to it's honour while "Dusk" finally underlines the obvious request of this 10th Formatik chief-release: fatness galore!

The two Berliners have been very busy and have founded their own label Formatik Records about two years ago amongst many other things. They have already released hits like Gospel and various tracks by new and promising artists and also famed producer Sébastien Léger, who is now a close friend of the house. Their success sent them out on a major world tour : Australia, Asia and into virtually every corner of Europe. They also tapped into the South American market in a big way. They also regularily host a Formatik Label Night in the world renowned Berlin Club Watergate.
On their last album Franz and Jakob were to be found covered in soot and coal, firing up the engines of the dance locomotive, now they've gone greener and swapped over to wind power and are fishing the "Restless" oceans of the world. Tirelessly the two sailors work on the deck disregarding the cold and the weather ,pulling in the nets filled with floundering hits. This time they've spiced up the bait with the amazing voice of Fran on "Liquid" who turns into a working class siren and manages to rock the boat properly with track 2. Keeping with the maritime theme the boys have used a harmonica on "Socks and Sandals" and a piano on "Piano Man". Classic Format B can be found on "Atomizer" and "Oversexed" ...kicking man high bass beats to thrill the four quarter beat fans, and "Biker Meth" is going to keep you dancing till noon (at least).
Even with the pressures of jet setting, label management, party organisation, building a studio, and the romantic needs of their girlfriends they have still managed to finish their first Formatik album to their complete satisfaction and are extremely proud to present the first artist album on Formatik Records.

Catalogue number Formatik 005 shall purvey the word of the all mighty upon the dance floors. A holy place where the opening times often coincide with the Sunday mass, Unfortunately time is sacred so that when hearing the "Gospel" there shall be little time to close your hands and pray as the nuns will already be body groovin' in the aisles. With the once cold and dank air of the church at boiling point and its radiant smell having already attracted new guests, in this case Super Flu with their Antichrist Remix adding some soul to the hooklines. We say hallelujah, hallelujah...hallelujah. More

The first catalogue number from the house of Formatik comes from Format:B The A-Side (Hotrod) is a pushing, wooden battering monster in the typical Format:B manner The Hugo Remix gallops through the house arena like a thoroughbred stallion. Extremely "wonky" breaks paired with a post modern house beat makes it the perfect alternative. Redux on the B-Side is a heavyweight techno layout. Sirens, massive baselines and a dark atmosphere that sometimes, but only sometimes, reminds you of old black and white horror films make this track the perfect addition to this first EP.
Three different styles, that's the way we want it. Stay tuned.

Here the two techno giants Format:B and Pleasurekraft take the underbrush like King Kong and Godzilla. One can see that the recent tour through Mexico has only strengthened their artistic bond. Sound wise the two musclemen fit together like lock and key. Now they've come together for the first time to exercise a combined rave opus. They combined their superpowers to create two new tracks, as hot as sun rays through a magnifying glass. "Coltrane" has been available digitally for a few weeks and will now also be carved into vinyl . "Sexus" is new and lets the b-side of the FMK012 flourish in blockbuster style. Big Cinema!

Since Tobi Kramer rocked the Format B remix contest he has been basking in the brilliance of his remix for "Socks And Sandals". It is no surprise that the two label bosses won`t let go of this young man from Lower Saxony, though one searching for reasons need look no further than his "Formatik" Debut EP "Eye Patch". There can be no doubt: His sound belongs IN the label portfolio. No matter whether it's a first degree rave like the A1 track "Offsuit" or veiled behind Venitian masks like the title track on B1, Tobi knows how it's done.
And clear... he has no problem skillfully tying smiling guitar sounds while reaching the goal line with "Busker" on B2. Tobi did it again!

The third and last Format:B vinyl-package is adjusted! Subject matter still is the current album "Restless" which has been taken on by big name artists of the international surroundings of the two. In pole position A1 this time is the Italian Uto Karem. He took a shot at "Piano Man" and hit's the keys just like we are used to from Format:B. With his version of "Socks & Sandals" the dutch Dj Madskillz comes around the corner. It's his second pounding release on "Formatik Records" after his "Carnival Chaos EP". A debut however is given by the also Italian artist Fernando Tessis who keep his eyes upon "Warped" and who went into the remix battle with trumpets and timpani giving no less attention to his demonstration of his garland of corn on B2.

The restless take a remix break! With their Formatik 008, Format:B presents three artists- each taking on a title of their current album to knit them in their own manner. At the head the berlin buddies Pan Pot, shake the A1 with a breeze of rave-charm as usual right out of their sleeve, rocking the track "Liquid" to it's climax then glazing the peak with the smooth voice of Fran. On B1 DJ PP accelerates. Gabriel Rocha is how he's called in real life, is one of the South-American stars of the scene, who's being celebrated by heavy-weight producers like Mark Knight. He's not only home in Uruguay but also in the Beat-Port charts, delivering an energetic Remix of "Oversexed". Last but not least: the winner of the remix-contest in which Format:B has listened through a house-high pile of promos is Tobi Kramer- a young artist of the neighborhood, who has been casted showing his talent by making out of "Socks and Sandals" one more time a club-hit.

The second Format B album is booked as a big success. As a consequence the big round of remixes has been called out to which the friends from the house of Formatik have been invited to. Sébastien Léger attacks "Atomizer" with a cumulative bang like a horde of sedulous ants which are anxious to nibble on the already major sound-board to the total peak-time inferno. Big-time! The intro track not only is being picked up by Andhim who made out of the chill-out peace a capital dance-floor floater, also Super Flu casted the spherical peace for their remix. But not only the melody of "desire" has found application in their "Two For One Price" remix, the vocals from "Liquid" as well nuzzle into the complex produced remix arrangement of the two "Hallenser" to endow the hole EP the pop-crown.

After the huge success of the catalogue number 005, Formatic Records has carved the next dance board. The beginning of the new year gives thanks to the constructing DJ Madskillz- presenting the bottom of a noble carnival-wagon, which drills itself through the castle walls of lethargy like a trojan horse. Behind it the client in person jumps out of the bellies strong vehicle and brings the Format:B remix, making even more tumult in the- without a doubt from luck traced- party bodies. The communal phenomenon that DJ Madskillz describes as "carnival chaos" is also being picked up by Ramon Tapia, who (as usual) bits the celebrating horse from behind making it spit fire in front during peak-time. A movement with pyrotechnical potential in the yet young post New-Year`s-Eve-2010-Era.

There's no sign of a financial crisis here. The Formatik Corporation is launching its next high dividend share packet on the vinyl stock exchange. "Combined" is a blend of assorted dance floor bonds that are being floated by the top managers Franziskus Sell and Jakob Hilden. Sell has stopped the market crash on A1 with "Lakonia" a potent little dance floor destroyer which he and Mutlu, the Berlin Dow Jones expert have conjured up. Look out! Romans approaching from the south! Our new discovery from Italy's capital, Siwell the specialist in beach bonds brings out the sunshine with "Absentium" on A2. Yoodza, the young venture capitalist from the Ukraine manages to tame the bull and the bear with his incredibly powerful track "Gumus" on the other side of the vinyl medallion. B2 is also where Frankfurt's Harthouse broker Boris Brejcha can be found with a licensing of an electrifying track called "Schaltzentrale" The Formatik Corporation concluded with a statement that they will be offering similar power packets in the future. The titel track "rush me" fuses the Steinbergian House style with the Lo-Fi charm of the roaring 20's. IT comes over slightly poppy but with a very relaxed and laid back groove. Steinberg at his best! Format:B's "rush me" remix, that has been reduced to the original vocals comes over trippy and with a good dose of bongo's making it into a grooving party track. Steinberg's "Es la Vida" is an elegant reduced tech house beauty. The rhythmic, percussive vocals hit on a very monotone but kicking bass line. A touch of a warm night by the sea in Spain! Format:B's interpretation of "Es la Vida" concentrates on the vocals and some of the percussion from the original, and combines Steinberg's basics with a hypnotic synth-structure that boils up in the last third of the track until it finally explodes! All tracks aren't scared to admit that they're aiming for the peak time. 4* different styles. Kick ass!
