Aux-Rec is Airdrop's offshoot label designed with a specific mission in mind: to look back and pay tribute. Aux-Rec continues its survey of musical history, looking for those inspiring pieces of music (famous or forgotten) that carry a very distinctive groove and identity, and that offer the potential to be revisited in an ingenious contemporary way. At Airdrop, we love music of all ages and of many genres! We feel Aux-Rec is a way for our artists and for us to pay our due respects to the origins and the evolution of contemporary dance music. Neil Tolliday aka Nail, released the Themis records on his own Velocet imprint between '96 and '98. These three extremely rare 12"s constitute a great and important part of Tolliday's work. For our eighth and ninth installments, we are glad to present the re-release in two episodes, of the long lost Themis works - re-shuffled, re-packaged and re-mastered by Matt Colton.

In the late ‘80s, London based musician Julian Jonah suffered of extrasensory perception, as he produced a series of titles that left an unforgettable impression in the growing early-house and acid landscape of the time. Not simply an answer to the first wave of house productions that were flowing out of Chicago at the time, Julian Jonah, along with A Guy Called Gerald and Baby Ford, was part of a movement of UK producers that created the soundtrack to the foundation of the first underground house clubs and warehouse parties in East London and Manchester. In 1988, Julian Jonah produced “Jealousy & Lies” during the last couple hours of studio rental still available that day. When the title came out on Cooltempo that same year, it created such hot and explosive wave, that producer Billie Ray Martin used it as an inspiration for “Talking With Myself" by Electribe 101, the group recently formed around German singer. Two years later, 1990, Julian offered to Billie to collaborate on a new title. The result was named “It’s A Jungle Out There” and so fantastic that the Def Club was asked to take part – none other than Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Eric Kupper and John Poppo.

Our 6th edition is a humble tribute to one New York pioneer, who helped write the definition and meaning of House Music. It is a record that came together spontaneously, the original Master At Work being one of the most foundational influence in our musical field, any respectable producer would sample him the way he himself sampled hip-hop, soul, funk and disco. Argentine house maestros Leonel Castillo and Franco Cinelli take their hats off, selecting a few legendary productions each, blending them into stomping jumbo mixes that come along with heavy consequence on the dancefloor. Boston-duo Soul Clap had a studio date with Droog member Justin Sloe and thought about a serious dilemma, how could heated warmth be turned… even warmer? They decided to call onto Sloe Clap to bring a solution to the enigma, working on the hotter remix of a sufficiently burning track, boiling it down to its bare naked essence… to be sipped by the pool - in case of fire

Aux-Rec is back for its fourth project, following the 'Baker Man' edit by Soul Clap (so good it became an official remix on Laid Back's label), first class remixes by Franco Cinelli and the 'Caught Up' bootleg by Le Loup & Funkalicious James aka Childhood '87. We are feverish to bring you today two new bomb bootlegs by Argentine top producers Leonel Castillo and Lexdinamo. Those in the know have been familiar with these names for over ten years now and know how rare their productions are. As a matter of fact, this is probably the first time you will be able to get your hands on such bootleg productions from these two cats. Leonel Castillo's signature shuffly blend is unmistakably recognizable on this A-side, on which he pays his tribute to one of the most emotional Soul masterpieces by The Dells, the '74 released 'I Wish It Was Me You Loved', bringing it into full dancefloor effect. Lexdinamo does what noone did before, jumbling even further one of Bobby McFerrin's most genius vocal medleys, 'Drive'. Avid bootleg followers may have previously heard this version, but we just can't get enough of it! Coming up! More works by Aux-Rec regulars Franco Cinelli, Leonel Castillo and Soul Clap!

Adrian Valenzuela, also known as Canu, is one of Argentina's most versatile musicians. Residing in Mar Del Plata, on Argentina's oceanline, he began his career in various early 90's bands. It wasn't until '95 that Canu settled as the composer and singer of the famous rock band Altocamet. After the release of Velada Bristol Casino - their first album - in 1997, the band came up with a house hit celebrated by all, Pasion Descalza, released on Shinichi in 2000 and remixed by Swayzak. At that point, Canu decided to take his solo career to new horizons, releasing his first album that same year - Corriente de Aire - on the legendary Argentine label Estatus Disco. Glass was actually the opening song to Canu's album. From Franco Cinelli's main Remix to his NYC Bass Line Mix going through the Hatapella tool, the man in charge takes all the Glass original elements remodeling them to higher grounds. Franco Cinelli's genius blend of dubby techno with original '90s NYC house synths and bass lines proves once again to be the perfect balance .This Re-Edition record follows up on two brilliant edits on Aux-Rec, Baker Man by Soul Clap and Caught Up by Childhood '87. By Aux-Rec criterion, it will only come out on 12" vinyl. Franco Cinelli's NYC Bass Line Mix will be accessible as bonus to record-buyers only.
