DFA has long been a favourite at the Bitches HQ and we were chuffed to be asked to remix one of our favourite acts, The Rapture. We certainly were not shy and dove headfirst into this mix bringing out the guitars and the lovely Beach Boy-esque harmonies twisting it into an indie-electro-house dance floor stomper. It's not for the wallflowers to be sure. DFA have released this goodie digitally, but as we Bitches love our biscuits, we had to see it released on vinyl. And of course, we must ensure premium sound quality so this release is 45 rpm on 180 gram vinyl. Happy listening.

Wild Rumpus is Bitches Brew head honcho Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy (Cosmodelica / Classic Album Sundays) and former Captain Beefheart axeman and Jeff Buckley collaborator Gary Lucas. With Wild Rumpus they bring together seemingly contradictory sounds such as disco, rock, surf music, blues, dub and country while enlisting some extraordinary talent along the way.his latest effort is the most indulgent Wild Rumpus song yet and is somewhat of a cross between Ashra Temple and Giorgio Moroder clocking in at an epic 12 minutes. The remix is courtesy of Mudd and has “Balearic Classic” written all over it. The single also includes an instrumental version of “Tikkety-Boo” which is a preview to the vocal version with Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner which will be featured on the album.

Bitches Brew House features the deep and sexy Jimpster remix of “Turning The Tide”, by soul singer Jinadu (later of the Beauty Room with Kirk DeGeorgio) which was championed by the soul/house DJs like Dennis Ferrer. On the flip is Cosmo’s Ch’i project featuring Billie Godfrey with “Mistaken” with a remix by Louie Vega protégé Alix Alvarez who gives it a sultry dancefloor vibe. The second cut on the B-Side vinyl is the Cielo Dub of “The Real Thing” by Bambú, a cover of the Stevie Wonder classic “The Real Thing”. Nicolas Matar’s Cielo Dub is a slickly produced house mix geared for the big club sounds of Ibiza.
