Gel Abril, - Recall Dub
One of the Be As One close family of artists, Gel Abril, delivers a missile of an EP with 'Recall Dub / Thicken'. Dubbed "the mysterious guy", Gel Abril is a renowned and respected DJ in Israel's nightlife circuit. 'Recall Dub' unleashes his well-known original stamp of fresh and bouncy techno, while 'Thicken' creates haunting atmospheres in its whistling melody and chopped up beats. Taking inspiration from artists such as Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, Gel Abril produces two tracks with a unique electronic sound. While talking about the new age of techno, Gel Abril AKA Roy Brizman has been undoubtedly one of the most present names on the underground movement's lips. Debuting with remixes for Shlomi Aber on labels such as Ovum (Freakside) and Renaissance (Moods) - Gel continued to build his own musical profile with original material for his family label, Be As One. Gel soon got into the techno rumble thanks to the success of releases such as 'Sparta', with his fellow rising star from Tel Aviv, Itamar Sagi, and 'The Underground Bullshit', signed by Ovum's label boss Josh Wink. Get Physical then took him soaring to higher grounds with the 'Miranda' EP. Gel has now established himself as one of the most influential producers of the recent times, with release upon release becoming industry trademark. His releases on Be As One have seen support from leading players, highlights including 'Your Face Is A Mess' and 'Spells of Yoruba / Marir'. Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler, Dennis Ferrer, Agoria and Valentino Kanzyani have all knocked on Gel's door to get his tracks licensed for compilations. Gel has also been trotting all over from the east side to west side of the globe, keeping the musical quality high and the underground musical tradition alive.
