For many years in Detroit J.GARCIA has been a staple of the house music community. Hosting legendary events around town and DJing along side the who’s who of the industry he has built a reputation and a sound that precedes him. With his very first release he blurs the lines between house, techno, and ambient, presenting a style that is uniquely his own. The A side features two original tracks from the E.P. The title track “WHAT’S AT STAKE” captivates with is deep dubby bass and haunting synths. The warm chugging of the drums and hats create an infectious momentum. The other tune “Candle On The Lake” is alive with an array of micro percussion fluttering around the beats. Experimental melodies and thick sub bass make for a hot groove. For this release, Lazerslut label boss, MIRO PAJIC, delivers a stunning eleven and half minute rework of “What’s At Stake”. He completely transforms the track into a journey. Beginning with a trippy spatial intro that builds hypnotically, working you until the drops that will have the dance floor on fire.

The hypnotic atmospheric tones and voices create depth and deliver you right into the funky synth bass melody. Later they come back, guiding you to the next part of the track where it jams out again before winding down into drifting spatial soundscapes. BRYAN ZENTZ Cascadian séance remix is the perfect complement to the original tune. He works his magic with the main synth line adding layers of tones and a thick bass that makes it drive. The low end pulses in the breakdown, massaging you for the immense drop that follows completely destroying the dance floor.
