Here's the inaugural release in a new series from the archives of the late great engineer & producer Philip Smart. Philip's resume is impeccable - early friend and collaborator of Augustus Pablo, radio host and dj, first apprentice of King Tubby, and founder, producer and engineer at one of the major reggae studios of New York City history, HC&F. Many years back our brother label Goldshop did a series of 45 reissues of the dancehall classics from Philip's Eclipse label. We always wanted to go deeper, but time moves fast, and unfortunately, Philip left us in 2014. But everything in due course, and now with his estate we've gone thru the archives to assemble a fantastic series of releases. This first release is a must - produced by Philip during his time as engineer at Tubby's studio, this is an awesome rockers style take on the moody Paragons classic. The flip features a classic blueprint mid 70s Tubby's style dub, HPF in effect with the first Prince, Philip Smart at the helm. Originally released thru Brooklyn's legendary Keith's record shop back around the time it was recorded.

Mace. continues his path of sound experimentation to dark and throbbing scenarios with this first EP entitled "The Heavens Are Already Theirs". After the electro cinematic tape "The Metamorphosis Through Dreams" (Further Records 2013) and the experimental/dark statement "The Wealth Of Nations" (Eclipse Music 2013) "The Heavens Are Already Theirs" looks like a set of tracks chronologically different from each other. The mixture of the elements combines the slow-tempo gloomy rhythms of tracks such as "Alcol" and "La Stasi" with the anxyolitic mood from the B sides tracks "Ballad" and "Il Vecchio Della Montagna".

Following his recent collaborations with Ai Records, Electronique.it, and Icon of Desire, passEnger finally comes back to Eclipsemusic to release a new 12” vinyl record, titled ‘Chord Abuse EP’. The release takes off with “Solar Flare”, one of passEnger’s most airy, housey and positive works till now, with its melodic sequence and uplifting atmosphere. On the same side of the 12”, “Surface Debris” de-construct the classic techno elements to build an abstract, moody, hyper-cynetic slice of futuristic techno. On side B “Solar Flare” gets then a special remix treatment by Stephen Brown, one of the most personal and notable European Techno producers: the result is a tight, swinging rework of tiny slices of the original, turning the track into a classic techno builder..

Eclipsemusic is pleased to announce the sixth release introducing the talented canadian producer Matt Thibideau. He is known in Toronto, Detroit, Montreal, & Berlin for having performed with the ikes of Mike Huckaby, Akufen, Richie Hawtin andreleasing music on labels such as Mike Shannon's Cynosure and Sub-Static with hisnew wave-industrial band Repair.. Matt has a very personal approach to making music that refuses to use software instruments and give free expression to his unlimited passion for the sound of his analog synthesizers. He records directly through a mixer playing his live instruments. This particular feature shines through his deep and warm sound! "When It's Time" is a typical techouse style track with a solid structure consisting of a straight and bouncy rhythm, deep bass with futuristic chords and techy arpeggiators running over it. The track starts very deep develops into a more raw sound that leaves no survivors on the dance floor! "Holding On To You" is a much more dub-oriented track This time we have ambient and rarefied atmosphere which develops progressively over a repetitive bass line and drum machine rhythm with a mixture of chords and pads typically inspired by the Basic Channel sound. The title track "Night Drive" (licensed from Matt's Obsolete Components record label) is a masterpiece of deep house music vaguely reminiscent of many mid-nineties works from labels like Guidance Recordings and Wave Music, that will become an instant classic for all deep-house heads. Very melodic and groovy bass line with a mixture of pads, reverberated chords and many delayeffected elements. 7 minutes of pure deepness.

"Intro" is a perfect-designed ouverture that serves what is really missing in EP's nowadays: a growing, capturing, lyrical climax without dropping any easy kickdrum in it. Perfect to start any promising set with THAT Detroit flavour.The deepest track of the set, "Claroambiente" starts as the breaths it features: an opalescent electronic miniature that promises really well. The track soon develops in a moony, melodic techno/house affair, revealing a conscious and introspective songwriting.The title track goes then straight to the core: a rolling, chord-driven techno groove, featuring a climax that transforms the song from a moody atmospheric piece into an uplifting and positive track.

Four years after Nuova Napoli, Nu Genea are back with Bar Mediterraneo, a new album and journey, which projects the
sounds of the Neapolitan duo formed by Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina even further.
Nu Genea's Bar Mediterraneo is an idea of a shared place where people meet and fuse together; a space that leaves its
doors open to travellers and their lives, always exposed to the whims of fate. Some of this can be experienced through the
multitude of sounds that come together in the tracks, layers of different acoustic instruments, voices and synthesizers
merging in a unique musical blend.
Opening up to the voices of many different people, separated by languages but united by the sea and the music, Nu
Genea's hometown, Napoli, becomes a true place of encounter.
You can hear this all along. In "Gelbi", a gorgeously deep and propulsive Ney flute plunges into murky waters of the
melancholic Tunisian dialect sung by Marzouk Mejri. In "Marechia'", unbridled happiness and sun ooze from the delicate
vocals of Célia Kameni and create an acrobatic bridge between French and Neapolitan language. In "Straniero", your
soul is arrested from the moment the slow spell-binding mandolin ignites the hypnotic patterns recorded by the legendary
Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. In "Bar Mediterraneo", the title track, bittersweet guitar’s riffs, analog waves and choirs are
overwhelming the song giving you what you would like to hear on a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast.
Nu Genea couldn't afford to overlook their firmly anchored roots into the Neapolitan culture and its dialect with "Tienaté",
where the power of neapolitan language (interpreted by Fabiana Martone) supports those quarter-tone strings and the
uncessant folk-disco groove that spreads to the entire song. In "Praja Magia", repetitive mandolin riffs lead the song,
giving space to a choral yet tight vocal line that speaks of Varcaturo, a village close to Napoli. In "Rire", a volley of poetic,
deceptively laidback, lyrical fury interpreted by Sicilian Marco Castello intimately combines with a highly musical, multitextured
instrumental backbone and the swoon of a chanson in its heart. In "La Crisi'', the lyrics of a Raffaele Viviani’s
poem from 1930 have been adapted to a laidback jazz-funk groove in full NG style. In "Vesuvio", revaluing the evocative
verses and powerful mantra of Vesuvio, Nu Genea re-adapted to the dancefloor a folk song by the working-class band E’
Zezi from Pomigliano D'Arco, combining the voices of a school choir with Jupiter-6 arpeggios and bold percussions.
Bar Mediterraneo is the place where people constantly return to transform curiosity into participation, tradition into
sharing, unfamiliar into familiar. When travellers come through its “doors”, carrying their treasures of words and emotions,
they aren’t strangers any more. They take part in a shared experience, enriching themselves and others by leading to
unexpected musical journeys.

Fracture & Neptune reissue two classics from the Astrophonica catalog on a new 12”. Clissold and The Limit shine a spotlight on the early days of their musical journey in the mid 2000s.

While there are other tracks that could and may get reissued, the pivotal nature of these two and the ongoing demand for represses made them the perfect place to start. Reissuing them not only honours their impact on our careers and Astrophonica's evolution but provides the opportunity to have them remastered on vinyl by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven and on digital by Bob Macciochi at Subvert Central Mastering for a modern take in 2024.
