berlin's heroes of the night AUTOTUNE have done it again for FUMAKILLA. after month of carful and steady toiling in the studio, "department #1" has the Autotune tech-house touch but elves into deeper waters. "little machine" is a track for the night, burning but steady, building to bust. it will get the kids on the floor, no holds bar. "night shift" has traces of french house without loosing any of the power that Autotune are known for churning out. the third offering on the EP, the aptly named "le sound hypnotique" with memorable vocal samples is just right for keeping it going in the early morn. Pachamama in English is the Andean people’s word for Mother Nature. So it’s no wonder that the Chilean native multi-talented musician, Alejandro Vivanco, remixed a track by the same name as it carries with it the message of our earth‘s mother through its energy, positivity and promises of eternal sunshine. Both the original and the 2 Vivanco mixes are topped off with a funky easy riding 70’s horn section and the dub mix is an altogether more housey fuelled track with more hi-hat’s to make you shake off the winter blues. The affectionately titled EP, Der Kleine Elefant, intends to tell its listener the story about a tiny elephant who is on a huge journey through mountains, deserts, seas and forests where he hunts to fi nd food and water for survival. In each encounter through the magical land, the small animal meets mystical creatures and watches in amazement at the stunning landscapes he fi nds himself wandering through. Each track sounds like a modern day nursery rhyme and our elephant, the hero. The Original Mix: A deep swinging, organic groove which is introduced by rhythmatic strings that swirl around your earlobes like butterfl ies before building up into a powerful crescendo to usher your senses off into an altogether deeper mood. After the last fantastic release on Fumalab we now make a stop in Southern America – to be precise: in Santiago de Chile. There is a lot going on in Chile’s electronic music scene and DJ Felipe Valenzuela is one of the agitators of the night in Santiago de Chile with one foot in Latin America and the other one in the old continent. He is a fresh, young, and talented producer; we will hear a lot from him in the future … He took piano lessons for a long time and his first producer steps started in 1995. Felipe is a DJ since 2002. He organized small underground parties in Santiago de Chile shortly after he travelled to Europe, especially Spain. From this experience, great alliances have been created with bookings and excellent agencies. „Alicante“ is a spherical and hypnotic track which takes you on a journey through Chile. There are spoken words in combination with a dreamy chorus and typical sounds from Latin America. Alicante evolved from a team work as Rockit-F. This is Felipe Valenzuela together with Fernanda Diaz. „Dive“ is a percussive, mental track with sound snatches ranked together with a very special feeling. It’s a long trip – call it a lesson into rhythm and drums. The music kicks you discreet the whole time. „Dive“ emerged from collaborating with Felipe Venegas. He’s also known from releases on Immigrant. More
