We presenting the upcoming Posthuman album "The Mind Is A Heavy Burden" coming out on Netherlands based imprint Flatlife Records. The full album arrives as a 9-track purple 12" vinyl and 13 track digital / streaming. This isn't the usual club-ready acid house to be expected from Posthuman of recent years, but instead a callback to their output in the early 2000s and their cassette releases on The Dark Outside. There's still plenty of their signature 303+808+101 sounds throughout but it's overall slower, more introspective and darker.

This album is a love letter to teenage selves.

An ode to youthful memories from Scotland and the North East of England. We’re of the generation that saw the CJB force the raves from the fields into the clubs, we caught the tail end of the convoys soundtracked by cassette recordings of pirate radio stations from far-off London and beyond. Every week a new musical discovery, every mixtape a revelation. Losing friends in dark fields or corridors of strange warehouses, then finding them again in the strobe lit smoke of the dancefloor.

It's rave, and techno, and jungle, and trance, and house, and ambient...but none of it is quite straight forward; It’s all a bit hazy, timelines broken and lines blurred. We hope the memory connects with you, the way it does with us.

A UK acid house & rave legend, Suddi was one half of Together who crashed the UK charts in 1990 with "Hardcore Uproar". The author of "A Brief History of Acid House", with three decades of production, writing, and journalism, Suddi's love and enthusiasm for the electronic music scene is unparalleled. A coming together of some serious house music legends.
Boy's Own don Terry Farley teams up with Kevin Swain of D.O.P. for a peak-time acid anthem "Memory Child". Label boss Posthuman strips it back for a Sheffield Bleep Techno vibe remix, while Kirk Degiorgio rebuilds the track with modular acid and epic piano chords into a blissful, sunshine anthem. Terry and Kevin bring it all back with the more chilled "Acid Tool" mix to complete the EP.

Written by Mark Archer in 1991 and released as Altern-8, this is half of a double vinyl set featuring new modern remixes cut from the original samples. Radioactive Man gives the track a purist electro makeover, while DJ Marky ups the tempo for a dancefloor destroying breakbeat re-work. On the flipside, Ceephax Acid Crew takes the hyperactivity up yet another level, while Mark Broom gets dirty and distorted, with Nightwave rounding out the 12” with a jackhammer acid remix.

The Hacker opens the EP with a rework channelling early Warp Records / Sheffield Techno at it’s finest – Pure Energy. Rennie Foster brings the 303 to the forefront with an acid-heavy breakbeat house remix. KiNK takes the vibe deeper with his underwater techno groover, and Neil Landstrumm completes the set with a deep, bleepy hardware-led remix
