LA producer Blake Robin aka LUXXURY’s new full-length album finds the bassline obsessed disco addict experimenting with funk, synthpop and even (gasp!) pure instrumentals. ‘Increasingly in my most recent singles I’ve been treating vocals like instruments’ says Robin, ‘backgrounding and balancing them as sonic elements instead of centerpieces, so the listener gets lost in the groove.’ And indeed the star of these 11 songs is undoubtedly the 11 stellar basslines that ground the swirling synths and melodies as vocal fragments coolly dip in and out of the mix along.

Leading the EP, "Let's Stay Together” blends house and jazz-funk rhythms with his trademark dusty basslines, dreamy ‘70s keys, and minimal vocals. Next up, “Don't Give Up (I Believe in You)” is a fresh, funk-infused fusion of 'Forget Me Nots'-style Rhodes, infectious bass, dusty lo-fi beats and a simple, uplifting mantra-like vocal delivered by Robin in his gorgeous falsetto.

Definitive Recordings reissues Plastikman's classic Acid House Mix of his own 'Do Da Doo' feat. Marshall Jefferson. Evergreen stars Jamie Jones and DJ Minx serve up their own new remixes.
First released in 1993, and now re-recorded with new vocals by Marshall Jefferson, techno mainstay Richie Hawtin dropped this tune under his Robotman alias. It became an instant underground classic and a cornerstone of the label's early catalogue, capturing Hawtin at a time of great innovation as he helped shape the next wave.
The A-Side features the original Plastikman Acid House Mix, spanning nearly 12 minutes of deep, hypnotic pressure. Classic 909 drums and a signature 303 bassline intertwine throughout. The acid line changes shape and texture from smooth to more prickly, and the percussion keeps dancers locked in for what is a truly mind-melting trip.
Remixer Jamie Jones is one of the most notable DJs and producers in the scene. His Hot Creations label and Paradise party are where he continues to explore the intersection of house and techno. This remix features his signature low-end bounce and futuristic tech house sound, complete with stark, laser-like synth lines and funky drum patterns. It's a warm sound designed to energise the club.
Next is Motor City guardian DJ Minx, who heads up the DJ collective 'Women on Wax' and has been an ambassador for Detroit house and techno around the world since the 90s. She dropped the underground minimal hit 'A Walk in the Park' on Hawtin's Minus label in 2004 and now comes full circle with this remix. She leans into deeper, more swung drums and shows knowing restraint by building freaky vocal fragments and lush chords that keep dancers locked in the groove.

UK pals Andy Riley and Laurence Ritchie have been Drop Music mainstays since before the turn of the millennium. They put out a veritable ton of house music and this EP first dropped back in 2004, but has long been ripe for a reissue. 'Already' sits somewhere between tech, new jack swing and deep house and is assembled from chopped-up samples, jazzy stabs and a rigid mix of drums that all get held together with a warm, swinging groove. 'Amber Gambler' on the flip is another collage made from distinctive patches - gun shots, MJ vocals, crashing hits, wiggy synths, minimal percussion and bursts of synth strings. Eonfield is a conceptual framework in which reality is treated as a field defined not primarily across space, but across cosmological time scales approaching infinity. In this view, all physical states, structures, and observers are understood as functions evolving within an extended temporal domain, where the dominant variable is time in its asymptotic limit. As duration increases, local distinctions – such as form, energy distribution, and informational structure – undergo progressive smoothing under entropic dynamics. The Eonfield therefore describes a regime in which the evolution of the universe is no longer meaningfully characterized by discrete events or objects, but by the global behavior of fields approaching equilibrium conditions. Concepts like causality, locality, and state differentiation remain formally valid but lose practical significance as their effects are diluted across effectively unbounded temporal intervals.
