Lucas Moinet is a Paris-born producer with his roots planted firmly in the soul of house music.
Through projects like Keraw, Groove Boys Project and Projecture, he’s built a catalogue that
doesn’t chase trends, it’s goes straight back to the source. Chicago, Detroit, New York.
His discography established him as a producer who understands how to combine the nostalgia
of the 90s alongside the flavours of the 2000s. Jazz laced drums, deep chords, and a low end
that means business.
Visions of Love is his debut on To The Rock and it feels right at home. There's a nod to David
Mancuso and the spirit of the Loft, a dubby slow burner that rides with a hypnotic ease,
then into swinging drums & jazzy chords, a track that carries the spirit of Olivier Portal without
trying to replicate. Closing out with a record built around a vocal that reminds you why this
music exists in the first place.

Forest Drive West returns to Mantis with a double pack of crooked, finely chiseled rhythms and porous, tactile atmospherics. Hovering comfortably between the distinct energies of drum & bass and techno, Joe Baker has helped define the creative upsurge in crossover tempos and tones with a practice that focuses on mood and presence rather than genre tropes. His first releases appeared 10 years ago on influential labels like Livity Sound, Rupture and Hidden Hawaii. He reconvenes on Mantis after delivering the first release for the Delsin series back in 2020. The scope across these eight new tracks is steeped in Baker's trademark restraint and subtlety, but equally he explores a broad scope of energies and tempos. From ambient, spacious downtempo and slow-motion, heavily dubbed drum mantras through to crisp, techy drum funk and dancehall-coded swagger, the range within the distinctive Forest Drive West sound is more versatile than ever. It's a range cemented further by the guest appearances on the album, as Patrick Russell comes on board for snarling, D&B-coded workout 'Uromastyx' and DB1 lends his chops to mesmerising closing breakbeat trip 'Planes'. Fresh his Keysound D&B opus Blue, Sully returns to Astrophonica with four pristine slabs of breakbeat science. "Flock" places the full strength melodic elements over the faraway amen echoes in a way that's not dissimilar to early Good Looking. "Helios" is a much colder flashback to the darker corners of jungle's formative dance; all breathy minor key chords and vapour trails of paranoia countered neatly by a precision dub vocal sample. "Crystal Cuts" recalibrates the focus to the drums by way of broad jazz chord strokes while "Hours/Miles & Still" concludes affairs on an emotional electronica tip where the breakbeats thanks to a beautifully arresting intro. Powerful.
