Yamaoka has been rooted in the Techno scene since the late 90s, even though the stylistic
range of his entire body of work over the past decades exceeds pure dancefloor
functionality by far. Originally released via the Leipzig-based underground label Minor in
2017 the two tracks on this super limited 7“ vinyl release capture a raw, hounded and
unpolished high octane take on Techno which is rarely to be found these days with
especially the B-side cut „Low“ presenting an absolute peaktime weapon for the
adventurous and experienced DJ's out there.
Never officially distributed before and only known and recognized by a few well informed
selectors out there this is the first time ever this unrecognized gem is available to a wider
audience, albeit in highly limited quantities.

Originally released in 2012 the "Collider EP" by Romanian producer x sound artist YVAT caters a hefty set of six tracks for advanced, yet bass aware and low end loving late night dancefloors. Fractured IDM meets HyperPhonk, dense layers of slightly off-kilter synths, fragmented echoes of Bass Music and Post-Glitchstep, scattered remnants of Drum'n'Bass, cheeky vaporchrome melodies and highly detailed structures, all bound and glued together by gnarly, oftentimes overwhelming sawtooth synth basslines for the braindance crew. This sounds like a WARP Records release that never happened.

Originally released back in 2006 „Oar“ marked not only the first release on the Leipzig based underground label Minor for the Romanian producer x sound artist Octavian Justinian Uta a.ka. YVAT but also the beginning of a more than eight years lasting collaboration which led to multiple vinyl releases on the label, both solo and in artistic joint ventures.
With this special 3“ CD release - a rare format in itself - with its foam folder held in place by an obi adjacent paper strip YVAT presents a unique sonic vision which still holds up today:
crunchy Electronica Phonk rhythms meet crystalline percussive melodies in the title track whereas „Slusher“ takes on decaying Glitch Rave for the tripped out whistle crew time travelling backwards from the year 2378 before „Adrift“ amalgamates Future Phonk and swampy Dope Beats, „Lash“ brings on Electronica-driven crimescene vibes, serving a top notch instrumental backdrop for adventurous freestyle MC's and „Leer“ finally harks back to classic metallic glitches and crunchy, yet subdued polyrhythms.
Five tracks and roughly 16 minutes of musical goodness well suitable for the recent Electronica / IDM revival.

Smallville is happy to welcome Axel Fischer aka El Kazed to the family, proudly presenting his very own SXB Deep Tales, hitting the stores worldwide in May 2026 as Part 1 & 2.
El Kazed is a DJ & producer from Strasbourg, France. Together with a group of like-minded friends, he is running Ordinaire Records– a vinyl imprint fully dedicated to House music. The collective is throwing parties and a festival, building an underground house community in the heart of the Alsace Region. Next to releases on his own imprint, El Kazed also appeared on Chez Damiers' „House Of Chez“ label, contributing a track to catalogue number 01, as well as releasing on Brawther's Interweaved label.
On SXB Deep Tales, he delivers 8 amazing tracks, stretched onto two 12“ parts, containing all the quintessentials of house music, driving cuts next to deepest shades, solo work as well as collaborations with friends- the result is magical.

In March 2023, Tresor Records will release "Crash Recoil", a new album by Surgeon. It marks Anthony Child's first techno LP in five years, following a period in which he felt uncertainty in his role as a techno producer and found it tough to locate inspiration. This new album encounters him drawing on spontaneous techniques to arrive at unchartered topographies. "Crash Recoil" originates from Surgeon's recent live sets, where he experimented with constraints in performing and embracing the twists, turns and paradoxes that arrive from this. Each fresh iteration on consistent MIDI sequences and hardware reconfigured tracks into di erent constellations, creating an inspiring vortex of unpredicted events where ideas could flourish. This new approach allowed him to capture the spontaneous energy of his live shows in a way he had never done before. "This is not a live album, since it has not been recorded in one go during a live performance. In the same way that bands tour songs before going into the studio to record an album, I was able to explore these songs and hone their e ectiveness during my live performances before creating a studio version."
The result is eight tracks that emphasise a new techno sound for Surgeon, drawing in references from across the musical spectrum. "I can hear Coil, King Tubby, Detroit Techno and The Cure all wrapped up with 30 years of DJing," Surgeon says of the album. Melancholic hum-like ambiences smudge around unadorned, near-droning basslines, crunching rhythm and percolating arpeggiations. The tracks carry unique and potent locomotion, with a low-slung grind through toughened terrains, breathing with a free spirit, untethered by a studio-based perspective. We hear manifestations of the same raw material across the album, like a textural motif, carving new variants and creating a cohesive work full of recollection.
