Elations Recordings presents "Terra Ignota", the long-awaited new full length album from elusive Melbourne-based fusion ensemble Krakatau. "Terra Ignota" marks a return and an epochal shift for the group, a deep exploration of possible sonic spaces and a portent of things to come.
In the years since 2016's cosmic jazz funk-prog-spiritual 12" "Tharsis Montes/Apogean Tide" Krakatau have worked on refining their craft as instrumentalists and writers, expanding further into the world of jazz and fusing influences from world folk musics, contemporary jazz and the European post-minimalist music of the 1980s and early 90s. "Terra Ignota", literally translated as "Unknown Land", takes its name from the cartographer's notation for uncharted territory, the blank spaces on maps where knowledge gives way to imagination and speculation, gesturing towards the group's studio explorations and search for new sonic worlds in the years spent developing the record.
The results are a diverse yet unified combination of sounds and influences across five tracks that see Krakatau drawing closer to the independent underground "world" jazz scene of the 1980s than anything contemporary. The album opens with the digi-minimalism and fourth world atmospherics of title track "Terra ignota", a percussion heavy latin fusion sound in "Birds of Passage", and melancholic ambient saxophone and synthesiser duo "In Memory". Three-part epic "Cosmetic Surgery" journeys through a long, complex post-minimalist arrangement into latin fusion and contemporary jazz, followed by the contemplative ECM-styled acoustic quartet closer "Trial in Absentia".
The album features significant contributions from saxophonist Rob Vincs, former Victorian College of the Arts head of Jazz and Improvisation and a collaborator with Australian musician Brian Brown; layered percussion and wordless vocals from Brazilian percussionist and esteemed songwriter Alcides Neto; and a guest performance from trumpet player Reuben Lewis on the title track.

Music From Memory presents 'Spacious Heart', the debut solo album from Los Angeles-based musician Anthony Calonico. Known for his work as part of the trio Total Blue, Calonico steps forward here with a collection of songs and instrumentals that invite the listener into his lush, expansive yet intimate world.
Written and recorded gradually between 2020 and 2024, 'Spacious Heart' emerged through a slow and open process, allowing the music to develop without rigid expectations. The album’s sonic landscape sits in a somewhat similar zone to Total Blue, with warm keys, synthesizers and rich production creating spacious environments where melodies and textures unfold naturally. Drawing together influences that move fluidly between spiritual jazz, synthesizer-driven explorations and ambient textures, the record balances harmonic richness with a gentle sense of openness. Written and recorded gradually between 2020 and 2024, 'Spacious Heart' emerged through a slow and open process, allowing the music to develop without rigid expectations. The album’s sonic landscape sits in a somewhat similar zone to Total Blue, with warm keys, synthesizers and rich production creating spacious environments where melodies and textures unfold naturally. Drawing together influences that move fluidly between spiritual jazz, synthesizer-driven explorations and ambient textures, the record balances harmonic richness with a gentle sense of openness. Where it diverges from Total Blue is through the presence of Calonico’s voice, the emotional anchor of the record. Smooth, luminous and quietly expressive, his singing carries a sense of earnestness and vulnerability while remaining delicately restrained.

Peach Discs continues into 2026 with a deeply jacking record from the king of the live house jam Demuja. If you've seen him on the 'gram you'll know just how incredibly prolific he is – the tracks that make up this EP were whittled down, tweaked and finessed from close to 100 demos, and we're thrilled with what we've put together, together. In his own words, the EP is "a little love letter to the dancefloor that lives within the idea of a long, sweaty night out. All the tracks were made at very different stages – some produced a while ago, others more recently – and I hope that’s part of what makes the EP interesting as well."
The "title.txt" EP embodies a pure distillation of Demuja's sound– rooted in classic house techniques with a dubbed-out sensibility and, the record's five tracks all stem from live-jams bashed out with focused intention in his Austrian studio on a plethora of drum machines, synths and effects units.
Things kick off with probably the wiggliest of the lot, as "Stop Asking Me" worms a long-range bassline around snappy, stripped-back drums before leaning towards techno (can you hear a snare on the 2 and the 4 cos i can't) on "Oldhead," as its dusty samples drag it back towards house, with a sprinkling of dubstep flavour tucked away in the breakdown. The A-side wraps up in a dubbed-out mode with "Say No More's" deep, modulating textures wrapping themselves around skippy, insistent percussion.
Those dub sounds carry over onto the B-side's "Tool 6," as classically filtered chords peek through the mix (though that bassline is definitely talking tech-house), and Pulse brings it home with strutting drums, disembodied vox and arcing synthlines.
We've also thrown in two bonus tracks you won't find on the 12" but will be available to those that pick up a copy of the record through the Peach Discs Bandcamp. Tasked with picking one fave each, Gramrcy went for "Almost Cherry," a barreling ride across an insistent Reese bassline reminiscent of Samuel L Sessions' best bombs, while Shanti chose the wiggling, diva-wailing "Art of Failing."

The San Fran man has already dropped one EP on Cataleya Music this year and now backs it up with more for Spanish outlet Mate. 'Won't Help It' is pure vibes - shimmering steel drums, cosmic synth breeziness and percussive grooves that bring to mind the classic Body and Soul sound out of New York. On the flip, 'Tell No Lies' is just as magical and elegant, with fluttering melodies and cuddly deep drums all making for life-affirming and positive vibrations of the highest order.

Voices From the Lake (consisting of Donato Dozzy and Neel) mark the 10th anniversary of their influential self-titled album with a fully remastered reissue on Spazio Disponibile. It arrives in full on vinyl for the first time, as well as on digital formats, first quarter of 2023 as the pair continues to play select live shows around the world. The release will see the light of day as a 4-set vinyl LP release, including download. Italians Dozzy and Neel have been friends united by a shared vision of music since their teenage years. They are immaculate sculptors of sound who fuse evocative ambient and leftfield techno into multi-layered soundscapes. For many years they worked as established solo artists but came together in 2011 to craft what is now regarded as one of techno's most pure and absorbing listening experiences. It's often said that the best music comes about as a happy accident, and that is certainly true of Voices From the Lake. The career-defining album first arose in the thoughts of Dozzy and Neel when the latter was preparing a mix for the former's wedding and named it Voices From The Lake. It was a pertinent title that stuck in the mind: both grew up by waters around the coast of Italy, and in their early days the pair even held private parties on the shores of a lake. Fittingly, Japan's celebrated Labyrinth festival at that time was also held by a river and a lake in the middle of a forest on a serene mountainside. It was that exact setting the pair envisaged when making music to play live on stage. During preparations, they "accidentally" wrote an entire album. It has only ever been performed live a few times - once at Japan's Labyrinth festival in 2011, at London's Barbican, Barcelona's Mira Festival, Paris' Marathon Festival and once during 2022's Amsterdam Dance Event. Those shows saw the pair using banks of analogue and digital equipment to improvise in the moment and essentially remix the album live on stage. That spontaneity is captured in the original Voices From the Lake recordings and on later LPs such as Live at Maxxi in 2015, and the most recent EP Quarto Freddo from 2020. But the debut album remains a standout achievement. A decade on, it's quiet intensity, musical storytelling and slowly unfolding tension remain in a class of one. Each sound is meticulously designed and placed, and the spaces left behind are just as important in conveying such a captivating mood and emotion. Rather than traditional kick drums, hi-hats or snares, this is music crafted from layers of real-world sound - dripping water, chirping birds, rustling leaves or a distant breeze - and it's that which defines the album's organic allure. The label’s first release, Girls on Tour EP, opens with “Mokira Ultra Dub”, a 10-minute club rework of Mokira classic “Manipulation Musik”. Originally produced alongside an ambient version commissioned for Kontra Musik’s 2016 Kontra X compilation, the dancefloor mix was ultimately shelved until now. With Andreas ‘Mokira’ Tilliander’s blessing, it finally surfaces as a standalone Sa Pa production. A track too banging to go unreleased.
“Waiting For You” traces back to Sa Pa’s orbit around the giegling ecosystem via FORUM. Once lined up for an official release on the parent label before plans stalled, the track slipped into the archives. Buoyant and disarmingly pop by Sa Pa standards, it finds its place here as the A2 - tuned to the collective memory of mid-2010s German house music.
