After four greatly received singles, the Polish post punk quartet Gym Wisdom make their debut with a self-titled album that sounds like a panic attack at a fitness class - tense, wiry, and strangely tender beneath the noise. Across nine tracks, the group explores themes of hypermasculinity, burnout, and the cult of optimization that defines modern life.
Their sound lands somewhere between the uneasy quirkiness of Slint, the manic drive of The Jesus Lizard, and the raw pulse of Brexit-core's new wave, filtered through a distinctly Polish lens. Spoken-word vocals, dissonant guitars, and rhythm section with undeniable groove capabilities form the core of the record's identity - a music that's both cerebral and visceral, swinging between explosive heaviness and abstract calm.
Though Gym Wisdom have been active for barely a year, they've already made their name in Poland's guitar music underground. The band's members come from a tangle of other projects - Nene Heroine, Kury, SOYUZ, Klawo, HÉR to name a few - and their collective background gives the album its strange cohesion: messy but deliberate, muscular but self-aware.

Piotr Checki - a Polish saxophonist, composer, and producer who passionately explores the boundaries of sound. His debut album PE is a personal story created in a home studio - somewhere between the living room and the bedroom - serving as an intimate record of the moment. By blending electronic and acoustic sounds, Ch?cki shapes a unique style in which the saxophone often resonates in surprising, innovative contexts. For him, music is color, presence, and a pretext for interpreting reality. Known for his work with projects such as Nene Heroine and Hinode Tapes, he is, in private life, a devoted coffee enthusiast.

This standard edition presents the final form of Polar Inertia across three 12" vinyl records, featuring 11 tracks. Nothing added, nothing removed—only the music, unfolding in full.

Encountering the collective Polar Inertia is much like being absorbed by fog and captivated by its ever-shifting forms and densities, with things being as indistinguishable as in a whiteout.
Formed in 2010 by a group of artists, Polar Inertia transcends visibility, delving into structures that lie beyond the public gaze. Layers upon layers intertwine within the fabric of Polar Inertia, extending beyond their profound electronic compositions and live performances. It manifests as a conceptual universe, where sound, monochrome aesthetics, and elusive narratives converge, much like trying to grasp the intangible fog. The entity that is Polar Inertia is involved in installations, print- and video work and texts created for different contexts and live in different spheres such as Palais de Tokyo in Paris or the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art. Still, clubs and festivals are perfect spaces to experience these nebulous soundworlds and immerse in them. Fittingly, some of Polar Inertia’s appearances include the colossal halls of Berghain and Bassiani and at experimental festivals like Mutek Montreal and Atonal Berlin, that like to break with the classic club conventions.
Polar Inertia's sonic landscape unfolds with wafting textures accompanied by resonating beats and drones, reverberating through empty spaces, merging with the vast expanse of nothingness. Their sound exists at the crossroads of ambient, experimental, and deep techno, interwoven with vocal narratives. Period Music has been staying with essential matters on how we listen to time and rhythms in our
bodies and in the world. Questioning the tempo of everyday life in an accelerated system like that of
modern society, the group has opened up co-creation spaces to listen to embodied memories.
Through dialogue, improvisation and jam sessions, the six artists attuned to each other’s processes,
composing music, word scores and drawings – ultimately sounding together.
This work embodies other notions of community through archetypes, embracing the impermanence
that reveals the countless rhythms of life. Period Music speaks of friendship and connection, and
invites you to take on a journey of interconnectedness between our rhythms and the broader social
structures influencing our lives.
The project emerges from conversations that began in Berlin in the fall of 2023, including a one-week
residency at Atelier Josepha in Ahrenshoop by the Baltic Sea in April 2024. The first physical iteration
of this project will consist of a book and a vinyl. The album features looping improvisational
compositions encoded with messages about multiple temporalities. The accompanying book gathers
poetic memories, letters, photographs, symbols, and drawings that emerged during the process

Danny Scott Lane is a New York-based musician, photographer and sound artist whose work drifts between jazz, ambient, and gentle funk. Originally an actor and singer before turning to photography, Lane brings a cinematic and emotional sensibility to his recordings - music that feels intimate, tactile, and quietly surreal. He has scored films and commercials, and his eclectic taste has taken him to DJ booths around the world.
Since his first tape release in 2019, Lane has released nine albums, five of them with WRWTFWW Records, each expanding his distinct blend of warmth, rhythm, and daydream. His tenth LP, House of Alice, welcomes back three-time collaborator David Lackner and introduces Michael Gagliardi, further deepening the reflective world Lane continues to build.
The album's title is derived from the Alice Austen House. Danny took an interest in the prolific 'street' photography of Alice where she often captured everyday life and intimate depictions of women's lives beautifully. Inspiring images that reflect in his own photography as well. We will continue to stand on the shoulders of giants.
