Psychotronics is arguably one of the finest creations from a quite unique Dutch formation called Normally Invisible. In the primordial, early nineties phase of what we now call electronic music, a fellowship of students at the prestigious The Hague Institute for Sonology was formed. Not to become superstars, as there was no real commercial scene to speak of, but driven by sheer artistic curiosity and intrinsic passion for this new way of musical expression.

Dusting off a 1994 DAT, lettering began to reveal itself—four tracks from the original release and two unheard, unreleased works! A decision was made: two tracks from the original 12” for Side A, and the two new discoveries for Side B.The spellbinding Fairytail Track 3 opens the record. Rich basslines and ruffled beats dance as strings soar and swoop in this fantastical floor-filler. That touch of fantasy twinkles throughout the entire EP, with dreamy mellowness weaving through key shifts and stepping grooves. This dreamy atmosphere carries into Fairytail Track 4, where snares rasp and snap above delicate notes and mischievous pads.The flip is dedicated to the DAT discoveries. With The Hidden Beauty Of Dutch House '94-'98, Anacalypto Records dug deep into the electronic archives of The Netherlands. Continuing their audio archaeology, their second release breathes new life into a true gem.
Closer is the first and last appearance of Luc Wächerlin aka Luca. Originally released in 1998, the four tracker was one of the final EPs to come out on Orlando Voorn’s ephemeral Slamdunk Records. The twenty-five-year-old press release describes the 12” as a collection of “beautiful, elongated, shimmering, Detroit style trancers for the morning after the night before.” Accurate words. The four works on offer are from the heyday of Techno, where flourishes of Detroit combine with the deeper currents of Sheffield for something energising and immersive. From the liquid synthwork and floating choral lines of the title piece, the listener is bathed in throbbing radiance and warmth. Echoes of “the night before” comes through in “Indian Summer.” A steady kick is the bedrock from which spirals of piano flow, fluid key changes providing a groove that roots this track firmly to the floor. Cascading chords introduce “Ultramarine”, subtle drum patterns giving way to acid scented bass and gentle currents of string. The quartet comes to a close with “Proxima.” Rich textured percussion supports drifting notes and silken chords, a touch of the otherworldly seeping through in tumbling 303 trills.
Closer is years beyond its time. Soulful compositions that belong to the burgeoning sound of Techno that was developing across the globe in the 1990s. Four works of beautiful machine music lovingly restored for a new audience.

A hard to find sci-fi Detroit techno classic - it's featured everywhere from Marcel Dettmann to Zip's SW sets.- gets a timely reissue complete with a new, super solid Delano Smith remix. It's hard not to love the original in all its futuristic glory, led by a sturdy four-to-the-floor pummelling but boasting a throbbing neo-disco bassline - imagine a lost Gorgio Moroder classic being remade by Jeff Mills in PurposeMaker mode. But the Delano Smith remix updates it for modern palates, ironically by delving back even further, to the early 70s model Kraftwerk from whom he borrows some very austere but classy synth sounds and a touch of electro syncopation. Take your pick according to mood, they both do the job admirably.

Flusso Uno moves through Afro-cosmic kraut-inflected psychedelia and cinematic electronics with a natural, unforced flow, where rhythm, texture and narrative all pull in the same direction.
Rather than referencing the past, the EP treats it as a living language. The longform, ritualistic percussion of early cosmic dance culture meets the hypnotic motorik pulse of krautrock and the more structured, sample-driven tribalism that followed in later decades. What ties it all together is a deep sense of atmosphere and
intention: music that feels physical, emotional and quietly transportive.

Dhol Parade opens the journey like a slow-burning procession, drums circling and expanding as if guiding the listener into another space. Huldufolk pulls everything back into a shadowy, nocturnal zone, where textures feel half-real, half-imagined.
Finally, Viaggio Tascabile loses the record in a quietly reflective way, a compact voyage that sums up the EP’s philosophy: small in scale, deep in meaning. Rødhåd and Vril return with the third chapter of their ongoing collaboration, OUT OF PLACE ARTEFACTS III, released on WSNWG.
While the preceding volumes laid out the duo‘s ongoing investigation into the numinous aspects of sound and texture, this chapter can be conceived as a clearing of sonic space. The compositions appear more deliberate, their architecture more explicit. Yet beneath the surface, the familiar tension between disorder and clarity shapes the record’s structural framework.
What emerges is an album of uncanny cinematic melancholia, the traces of which were already present in the earlier volumes, now coming to full bloom. The evoked landscapes appear widescreen in scope, although the record’s feel remains oddly intimate. It is never clear whether one expands into the furthest realms of outer-space loneliness or navigates through the densest of earthly topographies.
The heightened presence of acoustic instruments and human voice expands the project’s sonic spectrum. In the convergence of the organic and the synthethic, esoteric melodies rise and vanish, as obscured rhythms break into precision, resonating motion-picture nostalgia while remaining uniquely modern and anticipatory. What we encounter is OOPA‘s true aesthetic nature: a deeply human sense of playfulness and curiosity fused with a strangely alien and otherworldly detachment.
