Umwelt knows his craft. From no-nonsense acid-drenched electro assaults to more thought-provoking works, the Frenchman can shred speakers as well as soothe souls. The two sides of the New Flesh boss' sound combine as he returns to Shipwrec with the five tracks of Collapsar. In the epic Galactic Empire, beats are lashed with punishing acid rinses as a bold cinematic backdrop takes form. Collapsar maintains the grandeur, broad expansive chords stretching above a plain of tight percussion. A frigid stuttering synthline introduces Reflectivity, a line that breaks into a horizon-searching melody punctuated by crisp rhythms and arcing keys. The immersive quality of Umwelt comes to the fore in the sweeping soundtrack of Redemption Ark. That calm is cracked wide open with the frenetic finale; Day Zero incises from the outset, drums cutting into bulwark of bass before a barrage of keys attack. Comes with a risoprint as cover, limited to 150 copies.

Umwelt is a truly rare underground electronic artist in the world of Techno and is without doubt one of the most important and prolific French electronic producers of a generation. A techno activist since the 90's boasting over 50 releases to date. Throughout his career he has crafted a pure analog, unmistakable, signature sound, mixing dark, cinematic melancholy with the electro-techno grit he is so renowned for.
The sound of the album is influenced by late 90's and early 00's techno contrasted with an avant-garde approach to recording and sound design. Throughout the album Umwelt lays down beautiful grooves and his space techno melodies in uncompromising fashion, blended with classic synthwork and run through his famous analog outboard chains. With "Dead Eyes Society" Umwelt has crafted his most powerful techno album to date and solidified himself as an exceptional artist and titanic figure of modern electronic music.

For the 1st time ever, Heckmann pulls together a lifetime compilation looking back through his multiple alias' and timeless tracks in one release, including those of Knarz, Age, Heckmann, Skydiver, Spectral Emotions, Purple Plejade, and the infamous DRAX (which celebrates it's 30th anniversary this year)
The release consists of a total of 23 tracks, 17 of them slated across 3 slabs of vinyl with 6 digital bonuses containing the best of Heckmann's underground hits like; Himmel Und Hoelle, Tanzmaschine, Teufelswerk and EBM1, as well as his more unknown gems like Chiswick Days and Parnophelia.
Heckman has flexed his prowess across multiple shades of electronic genres throughout his career, but it's his contributions to Industrial, EBM-Techno, Acid, and Experimental that has earned him his notoriety, and it was in 1994 when he dropped an acid-tinged 'Amphetamine' as DRAX LTD. II that shot him into being recognised as a global super power to be reckoned with.

The triple vinyl release features 14 hand-picked contributions from the label's trusted collaborators alongside cutting-edge artists new to the roster; making this compilation one of the label's most varied and innovative collections yet.
On The World of Monnom Black II, new artists including VTSS, DIMI (AnD), Vladimir Dubyshkin, Hadone, Fractions, LDS, Aahan and Buried Secrets all throw down tracks which fuse tight machine rhythms with intricate detail. There's also a return for many establish- 2023 repress -ed label favourites such as UVB, Dax J, Zanias and Thomas P. Heckmann as Knarz.

Written and produced by Louis Digital, the album incorporates fragments of music data generated by long-time collaborator CiM (Ann Aimee, Delsin). Describing the title track, Louis Digital states:
“It’s the microelectronic sound of a city playing strange light games with itself, evoking bitcrushed desires and floating images, an urban phantasy stored on the broken circuits of an Ensoniq ASR-10.”
The origins of Romance in the Age of Adaptive Feedback trace back to 2006, when Louis Digital launched Diamond Sea, a series of events at London’s ICA that introduced the Unspecified Enemies project and a label called City of Quartz. The vision was to merge the hi-tech electronic textures of contemporary R&B with the sampling and sequencing techniques of pioneers like Anthony Shakir and Soundhack. However, the music was lost in time, and City of Quartz never released a single record.
Yet, the story took an unexpected turn. At one of these events, Spencer from Numbers received a CD containing early recordings. Years later, Numbers encouraged Louis Digital to reconstruct the lost music for an album. The result is a work resurrected from the past and reimagined for the future—retrieved in fragments from a broken Iomega Jazz SCSI Drive.
Expanding on the album’s themes, Louis Digital reflects:
“By the late ’90s the cinematic image of Los Angeles and the sound of Detroit techno had crystallised a new style of living in time and space. In 1997 Mike Davis — the political activist, urbanist, writer and historian of Los Angeles — suggested that it all had “something to do with a microelectronic aesthetic of very transient and decaying states”. It was a romantic vision — one where the city’s glass surfaces reflected a musical desire for futurity not yet dominated by data-driven corporate life. These were strange days to live through. This album evokes the embers of this fibre-optic moment, when urban revolution in an age of digital reification still felt possible.”
The album features full sleeve artwork and a poster designed by Ben Drury. In support of the release, an NTS show titled Romance and Reification will explore the cinematic and electronic music influences behind the album.

Placid aka Paul Wise is the chief operating officer at ‘We’re Going Deep’ – an online community and record label, born out of a lifelong love affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and an obsession for collecting records since 1988. Kicking off 2025, the next WGD release welcomes the sounds of self confessed stateside Techno poser Troy Anderson to the imprint. A core part of the much treasured Down Low crew from Texas, he has previously released some mightily excellent records as Cityboy and Waverider way back when, both of which were recently re-issued on We're Going Back. As DFD, Anderson first appeared on Down Low Music compilation 'Satellite Cities' back in 2001. However, it took until 2024 for his first full EP to materialize. A somehow wonderful glitch in time, DFD productions fit easily into the early 00s canon of purist machine made magic, harboring a timeless resonance that emanates equally from a future dimension. Bringing an all important touch of human feeling to his work that is as essential as it’s comes.
Offering up 3 original cuts alongside a top shelf rework from ERP (aka Convextion), the A Side kickstarts with an all encompassing, yet subtly acid inflected Electro jam. As gently sweeping rhythms breeze into your consciousness, a deftly programmed 303 creeps underneath a bubbling lead that takes center stage. Wave after wave of chorded atmosphere builds as the track takes shape, it bursts further into life as glorious high notes add another simmering layer to the mix. A wild yet sumptuous ride, this is craftmanship of the highest order. Accompanied with a remix from the original Texan space cruiser ‘ERP’, the remix injects a touch more pace to the original and drifts fully into realms of photonic fields, drenched in cavernous reverb and outerworldly effects.
On the flip side, B1 ‘Evening At Kokopelli’ orbits back towards earthly plains as Anderson veers into swirling melodics and lushly stringed elements, all powered by a solid 909 rhythm structure and bubbling acid line. A display of playful prowess that is as hypnotising, as it is enchanting. The soundscape is invitingly warm and shifts your optic over to a whole new dimension. Ending out on the pacey 2 step beat of ‘Metallic Dreams’, Anderson opts for a sparser approach as splashes and layers of filtered pads take their course, as melodic elements rise above powerful FM bass tones and fill the void with perfect measure. On this evidence, the music has most definitely been worth the wait and on this form – DFD is a name to keep sight of in the years ahead.
