Genuine, dynamic techno that defines itself through crisp sound design, memorable textures, and highly compressed, sometimes distorted drum arrangements makes this piece of music a profoundly soundscaped lecture in four classes that gets its final, emotional touch from either melodic compositions or disruptive beeps. Legendary French DJ and producer The Hacker debuts on Radio Slave’s Rekids with the ‘Laser & Smoke’ EP on 21st February 2025. The two-track ‘Laser & Smoke’ EP harkens back to The Hacker’s early 90s roots in Detroit-inspired Electro & Techno. First, he starts with ‘Turborave’, a tasteful, bleepy cut with an unignorable bassline and muted dub chords that wash over its snappy groove. ‘Turborave’ is the kind of heads-down, lose-yourself dance?oor moment for the later hours before ‘Harmonia’ sees The Hacker play with high-voltage cables on the B-side. Charged-up zaps and zippy acid call and respond while bodied drum hits keep the rhythm moving, whistles and pads occasionally joining in. Pioneering DJ and producer The Hacker is renowned for being a leading proponent of Electroclash in the early 2000s, his Techno and EBM-infused sound, and iconic collaborations with Miss Kittin. With releases on labels like Dark Entries, Mannequin Records, and Turbo, as well as remixes for Air, Soft Cell, Dave Clarke, and Front 242, The Hacker remains a vital force in electronic music. He now adds Radio Slave’s Rekids to his extensive discography for the ?rst time via the ‘Laser & Smoke EP. Radio Slave’s Rekids was founded in 2006 and has since spawned successful o?shoots with the Techno-focused Rekids Special Projects in 2017 and its newest sublabel, REK’D, in 2024. With Matt Edwards as the sole A&R, Rekids has been crucial in developing early artist careers and has become a haven for established acts operating in House and adjacent genres, having recently featured the likes of Harry Romero, Hilit Kolet, William Kiss, Bushwacka, Mathias Kaden, Tiger Stripes, Tal Fussman, and many more.

Be water, my friend.” The steadily brilliant French producer Nathan Melja – who’s made the rounds between choice outlets over the past half decade, from Mister Saturday Nights to Antinote, via Ninja Tune offshoot Technicolour and Opal Tapes, seems to have learnt Bruce Lee’s lesson by heart, and his seamlessly fluid, no-nonsense debut foray on K.O.C. is here to potently cement his status as one of Europe’s number one club trailblazers, and one that knows all too well how to turn any dancefloor into an infinity pool of pure liquid euphoria.
Drawing its name from the physiological and psychological process that results in a confusion of one’s sensory perceptions, ‘Synesthesia’ is indeed the kind of club single that shall trigger off massive reaction amongst right-minded bipeds and chromakey house suckers. Straightforward club business done right, Melja’s original is a vivid kaleidoscope of skittish drums, swampy bass stabs and a well-rounded, supremely curvy synthwork, tailored to take ravers on a flash journey through space and time without the help of Richard Branson or Elon Tusk (pun intended).
Called in on remix duty, TTT affiliate and Incienso co-founder Anthony Naples delivers a more fragmented and ambientish variation, though functional and club-ready in its own right. Brushing even wider verbed-out pad tapestries for your brain to wander in, the track expands to deeper organic horizons with a field-depth that can not but recall that of the KLF and Bochum Welt’s emotional soundscaping. Meanwhile, Karenn half Pariah takes care of whelming us deep into more techno-friendly terrains, true to his ever masterly touch for epic buildups and multi-level textural innovation, bringing up the acidic phlegm of Melja’s original as he treats us to a carefully orchestrated ballet of synthetic whorls, contemplative chords and propulsive drum programming.

Mike Dunn is a pivotal house artist who brought his own famously raw and stripped-back style combined with infectious hip hop elements. He is behind plenty of well-known anthems, most famously 'Dance You Mutha' and 'God Made Me Phunky', and founded Dance Mutha in 1988. It released music by MD Connection, Gershon Jackson and I-ROC-T, while Dunn also co-founded seminal acid labels Warehouse Records and Muzique Records which played a key role in the development of Chicago and acid house. Dunn has continued to produce over the ensuing four decades and has landed on the likes of Defected, Nu-Groove, Classic, Trax and many more. The relaunch of the Dance Mutha label has been inspired in part by Dunn's discovery of a raft of 'lost' unreleased masters from the late '80s and early '90s. It's these tracks that provide the jumping-off point with this new release. '43:31' is the first out of the blocks and brings prickly acid texture to raw analogue drums. Slapping hits add extra bite to this most stripped-back and effective slice of pure warehouse music. Then come the snappy snares and deep bass of 'Acid Feet (Phaze 1)'. This spare, impactful cut is riddled with shapeshifting acid and caustic synth textures that bring the rugged drums to life. Last of all, the excellent Time Machine' will indeed take you all the way back to the dark, delirious and delicious days of the earliest acid house with its wonky 303s burrowing deep into the night next to coarse claps and ice-cold hits. You wouldn't be totally wrong to call Dalt a "bedroom producer," but anyone can grab a laptop, a production software, and begin experimenting in the comfort of their own home. It’s rare to find a “bedroom producer” like Dalt with so sharp an ear, matching intimacy with technical rigor beat for beat. Her music is honest, for sure, but also impeccably engineered. To that point, everything on this EP Dalt crafted herself — no samples, no Ableton Live presets. Her composition process, much like her live set, is an improvisation structured by the tools at hand. Sounds are routed and rerouted, filtered and trimmed, finally emerging as envisioned, or, as often, not. Take the vocal textures on “Veta”: “Ahs and Ohs” made by people throughout the world that she compiled through an open call made on her tumblr. But regardless of method, she always produces crystal-clear, ever surprising,

Now, 30 years after its first original release, Superstition Records issues a new series of releases, with brand new remixes as well as some of the many remixes from across the last three decades.
The third part in the series features remixes by Tale Of Us and Paul van Dyk, some of the most prolific electronic producers and DJs. First up are Tale Of Us, one of the biggest names on the dance circuit of the moment. Their “Renaissance Remix” was first released in 2018 and has already become one of the most popular remixes of Café Del Mar.
DJ Kid Paul and Paul van Dyk were close DJ buddies in the early Berlin Techno scene, and played around a hundred DJ gigs together, all around Germany and Europe, before they moved on in different directions. Now nearly 30 years later Paul van Dyk finally got the chance to remix the iconic Café del Mar. His XOXO remix slows the tempo slightly and employs crisp percussion and deep, pulsing bass while still maintaining the out-and-out exhilaration of that epic breakdown. Originally released in 2021, the Paul van Dyk remix appears here on vinyl for the first time.

"Kind Regards" is the second duo release from guitarist Oren Ambarchi and drummer Eric Thielemans, out via AD 93. The record captures an expansive performance in Poitiers, France in November 2023. First working together in an unpredictable trio with minimalist legend and eccentric extraordinaire Charlemagne Palestine, Ambarchi and Thielemans quickly established a remarkable musical chemistry that led to an ongoing series of duo concerts, including the performance documented on their LP Double Consciousness (Matière Mémorie, 2023). Kind Regards finds the duo refining their shared language while continuing to take risks, allowing the music"s gravitational pull to lead them from meditative calm to unexpectedly expressive passages of melodic invention and rhythmic drive.
