340 page, beautifully written, designed and printed, hardback book
ISBN: 978-1-0687642-2-6
Keep the books coming, keep the music coming, keep the art coming. When you think
you know everything, you can miss out on a lot. When you realise you don’t [know
everything] the floodgates come down a bit and you start following literary links and
musical links that you might not have made before. It’s a whole new parallel universe.”
Andrew Weatherall, 2015
Today Disco Pogo is delighted to announce A Disco Pogo Tribute To Andrew Weatherall,
a 320-page hardback that gathers everything we love about the man and his music. It is
the fourth in our hardback Tribute series – following Daft Punk, Aphex Twin and LCD
Soundsystem – and the long-overdue successor to the sold-out and hard to find Jockey
Slut Tribute To Andrew Weatherall from 2020.
Inside you’ll find the best of that original Jockey Slut book, plus more than 200 pages of
brand new material – fresh essays, oral histories, interviews and photography from the
writers, photographers, musicians, producers, DJs, designers and friends who knew
Andrew best.
The book is being published with the full blessing, approval and cooperation of the
Weatherall estate, who will also receive a share of the profits from the book.
From the fanzine kid at Boy’s Own to the producer who rewired Primal Scream and
made ‘Screamadelica’ sound like the future; through The Sabres Of Paradise, Two Lone
Swordsmen, The Asphodells and the much-loved A Love From Outer Space night and
Convenanza festival, Weatherall left behind a body of work, a sensibility and a way of
carrying yourself that is still being unpacked six years on. This is the book that tries to do
all of it justice.
Highlights include: an interview with Bobby Gillespie that goes beyond ‘Screamadelica’,
essays on ‘Sabresonic’, ‘Haunted Dancehall’, the Two Lone Swordsmen and his solo
releases, plus a look into his many remixes. In addition: oral histories on his early years,
A Love From Outer Space and Convenanza, an interview with Timothy J. Fairplay on
The Asphodells and a celebration of his art work and his NTS radio shows. And then
there’s the Disco Pogo Tribute regulars: a timeline, family tree, a studio gear deep dive,
discography and more…
Featuring interviews with Sean Johnston, David Holmes, Jagz Kooner, Leftfield, Shaun
Ryder, Chemical Brothers, Terry Farley, Dot Allison, Beth Orton, Irvine Welsh, Daniel
Avery, HAAi, Tia Cousins, Steve Mason, Richard Fearless and many more.

This tribute to the duo collates all the interviews and photos from the seminal magazine covering their early days on Soma up to the release of Discovery. Further articles cover the rest of their tenure as one of the globe’s most furtive, influential electronic acts right up to their unexpected split in February 2021.
? Their first ever interview, for Jockey Slut in 1994.
? Oral histories on their early years on Soma and the making of Homework and Discovery.
? Their first unmasked cover shot and interview for Jockey Slut in 1996.
? A Fax interview from Jockey Slut in 1995 including their doodles and handwriting.
? Long reads on Human After All, Random Access Memories and their Coachella performance.
? Vintage features from writers including Alexis Petridis, Calvin Bush and Ben Cardew.
? A History of Roule records and the duos' extra curricular activities.
? Exclusive Interview with Tony Gardner, the man behind the robots.
? Daft Punk in film: Interstella 5555, Electroma and Tron.
? Daft Punk was playing in my house - an exclusive interview with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy.
? An exclusive interview with Pedro ‘Busy P’ Winter and Together’s DJ Falcon.
? Daft Punk superfans.
And much, much more!

Emerging from the sun-drenched haze of their previous releases, the Belgo-Italian duo descend into the shadows with Trabajando El Flex, their third record to date. This is their gloomiest strike yet, a mutant wave manifesto built on a raw DIY ethos. Imagine pulsing basslines and ghostly vocals soundtracking your deepest, most illicit desires. Channeling the spirit of a major influence which is Coil, this album could have been called "Music to Play in the Dark(rooms)." It's a lethal fusion where New Beat, EBM, Dub, Italo, and New Wave lock into a singular, hypnotic atmosphere. Their world is a wild ride from Bear-Santa Claus Fantasms to Burning Churches and Amphetamine rooms, reflected in both their playful - not-to-be-taken-seriously - lyrics and a genre-shattering sound. Their debut was a a lost reel; their second, a dream, Trabajando El Flex is the raw, slow-burning, and beautifully unclean night that consumes both. It's a flawless fit for the after-hours ruin of the Pinkman universe.

When most of us go on holiday to Greece, we hang out by the pool, go to the beach and maybe bring home a souvenir or two. Last year Greg went on holiday to Greece and made an album. Synthesizer, Grand Piano and traditional Folk Instruments are blended with Field recordings to create an intriguing album of Authentic Greek Modal Folk-Jazz and soundscapes.

Sexo Y Fantasia - 9 minutes
In the midst of the summer of 1988, a duo of artist from Belgium and Italy got together in the surroundings of the infamous X-rated film Rocket 23 Studios Molenbeek to build a seductive sound.
Originally involved in the cinematography and art direction of adult movies, the two mavericks decided to compose the soundtrack of what was going to become a cult movie of the late 80s erotique era: "Sexo y Fantasia".
The Belgian and Italian directors discovered back then the new beat, proto house and italo sound at the underground Ghent disco club "La Pircardía” and at “Club Spaziale” in Rimini, after their wet shooting days. Inspired by this bubbling European hype, they added features and distorted vocals from the X-rated movies they were filming at that time to the melody and beat of the soundtrack. The result is a powerful, unexpected and deep collection of tunes that sound fresh and vibrant today.
These unique tracks get to see the light of the day again thanks to the finding of the filthy master tapes together with a provocative fanzine somewhere in Brussels. Its images served as raw material for the adult artwork.
"Sexo y Fantasia" gets now revisited by current producers on the leftside of the beat: t-woc uses his masterful expertise to build an atmosphere of Balearic layouts, while Alexander Arpeggio works his way around a hypnotic and punchy remix of the original theme.
Recommended listening experience while eating.

4. SHORT INFO:
On this album the former "Chasing Clouds" have accumilated into the eponymous "Black Sky"; these drifting soundclouds have swallowed a bulk of Sepalot´s sunny nature; his trademark relaxed attitude gave way to instrumental melancholy and pugnacity. "Before I started recording I listened to lots of The Doors songs. I found the suicidal aspect in their music very exciting. I totally inhaled it." Sepalot reports. "The breakage, the grid, the dirt - that was my inspiration. I was thirsty for the energy of pureness." In order to capture this roughness Sepalots first production steps were drafting soundsketches - often more than 100 in a row. This is then is followed by a sorting procees with many drafts going immediately into the trashcan. The survivors create the first basic draft.
There is something waiting in the wings. Don´t fear the storm, come outside with us... "Black Sky" is here.
Clemens Brentano: "These sounds are a wonderfull living breath of darkness"

Marlon George - Do The Rha!
Marlon George is a British DJ and producer based in London renowned for his "slightly spacey, casually jazzy, and fully groovy house music," with support from names as illustrious as Kyle Hall and Jimpster. But really, if he's getting signed by the legendary Trelik, then that's all you need to know about his skills. He lays them bare across three tasteful cuts here, starting with the liquid dub of 'My Secrets Are Safe With Me' with its wispy shards of light piercing the water's surface and glistening against the dusty hi-hats. 'Najagen' has more drive but no less depth and warmth to it and 'Do The Rha!' is another smoky, minimal, heady dub house roller that sneaks right under your skin.

Romphea lands on Scottish imprint Hilltown Disco with his debut EP, Blind Protocols. A producer who’s been making serious waves worldwide, Romphea’s forward-thinking take on electro has already found a home on respected labels such as Pinkman, Tiger Weeds, FERMA, and recently on Hilltown Disco’s charity compilation.
Romphea distills his sound on ‘Blind Protocols’ into a fierce club-ready statement. The A-side delivers three break-neck electro cuts, loaded with acidic pressure and gripping, sweat-driven drum workouts. Flip it over and the EP slips into darker territory, leaning into EBM influences with two killer remixes from Hayter and Timothy J. Fairplay.

Sales Note
Suburban Architecture continue their series of sought after 4 track EP releases with their 8th offering, 'Purpose'. This latest release is the most stylistically varied of the duo's releases to date, drawing on inspiration from a multitude of styles which emerged during Drum & Bass's mid to late 90s golden years.
The E.P opens with title track 'Purpose', clashing Jazz influenced instrumentation with deep atmospherics and sharp, angular drum programming, not to forget a tone-setting vocal sample. 'Tones' meanwhile puts the drums at the forefront: Lush keys, melancholy horns and subtle, shifting synth lines underpin an unconventional drum track, packed with rattling percussion and raw energy.
Over on the flip 'Focus' goes harder and darker. Eery synths, atmospherics and a driving drum track set the scene for an explosive second half drum switch. 'Stairways' closes out the EP, marrying uplifting atmosphere with live instrumentation in a style which will appeal to fans of 4hero and the like.

Caterina Barbieri & Bendik Giske's At Source resounds music as wellspring, that which is essential and unknowable, and yet utterly primary. It finds two acclaimed composer-musicians building a world together in self-contained collaboration between analogue synthesis and an extended approach to the saxophone that conjures its own universe of sound.

Luca Lozano - Calling All Dancers (Hell Is Other DJs Mix)
For the first outing of 2026, Klasse Wrecks harks back 10 years or so to a Luca Lozano classic that was originally released on U.K. based Hypercolour Records. 'Calling All Dancers' was a defining moment in the producers discography and proved an evergreen hit even a decade later, to celebrate the milestone Lozano has revisited the original and turned in 4 brand new remixed versions. Ranging from tribalistic rhythms, classic electro stomp and sleaze-ball electronica the remixes provide an updated imagining of the original for audiences both new and old. Grab a copy now and don't forget to put on those dancing shoes...
