About the artist: Greetings from Oesje. I don't know what to say, it's very surprising that people so far away like my record from the 70s. This was my only record with songs in English, and vocoder. I was young and very ambitious that time, but now I'm a family man who works from eight till four. Marshall Titus is an award winning actor and performer who began his career in High School singing in local bands and vocal groups before gaining national attention by becoming a finalist in the male vocalist category on the hit T.V. show Star Search. Prior to his fame coming up in Chicago, Titus worked with Jun Mhoon, a session drummer for Brunswick records and later VP of A&M Records, to produce and promote "Take A Chance On A Feeling". The track won the 1984 Budweiser Tournament of Jams (Chicago) and was released as a radio promotional 7inch single through Starstream.

Back on vinyl for a limited time, Original version (with extended intro) A Side , and a synth-centric PPU mix B Side.

Straight from the northwest 1980, Freeway was the band you could catch any weekend playing gigs in Portland and Seattle.. Their coveted AOR boogie debut 7" on Nebula Circle "Get The Feelin" is what originally started this project with PPU records, Mark J (keyboardist/songwriter/vocalist) had some original copies in the safe deposit box.. Nebula Circle was a local Oregon label that released Shock and Nu Shooz's first recordings! Freeway had another vinyl LP debut in the 80s, but it only made limited local waves, impossible to find today, so Mark J went back in the studio and pulled all these recordings from the archives, and luckily found other solo projects featured on this LP.

A four-piece band based in Tokyo.

Initially playing reggae/dub music, the band gradually developed into an innovative fusion of diverse musical influences, such as jazz, soul, psyche pop, new age, and exotica. A sound is based on groove and euphoria, with nostalgic melodies.

They have performed at iconic events in Japan such as Fuji Rock Festival, and also have been looking overseas since they performed in Canada(Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver) in 2019. The new EP "Ramble In The Rainbow"(2024) is their first international release on the US label Peoples Potential Unlimited.

The work shows their musical maturity, drawing inspiration from Sun Ra, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and Yasuaki Shimizu.

40th ANNIVERSARY PRESSING ~ REST IN POWER DANAN POTTS

DETROIT 1983: You might know Danan from his first release in 1982 under the alias Superlife. At that time Danan was hanging around the Recording Institute of Detroit where Juan Atkins was training in production. Danan was interested in Atkin's style of dance music and quickly recorded "Go Bananas" (soon the be re-released on PPU records). Bananas was released locally on Southern Sun Records in hyper limited quantity, it is today one of the most sought after underground detroit techno recordings of all time. Only a year later Danan would find himself back at the Recording Institute working with Orlando Cash on his second release "Psycho For Your Love". Productions in this style were given the artist name "Westwood" or "Clint Westwood". Danan was working close to 100 hours a week next to George Clinton, and certainly some p-funk had rubbed off on Danan. Peoples Potential Unlimited PPU-025 features both original versions of the infamous second release from Danan Potts aka Westwood/Cash "Psycho For Your Love" and "Work Those Joints", there are also two brand new PPU edited versions of both tracks! This record is dedicated to the late Danan Potts and his family.

Long time PPU contributor, video producer, and designer, SOFTgrid steps into the fold with their EP “Knock”. Includes “FEELU” as featured in the 2024 summer blockbuster Bad Boys IV : Ride Or Die starring Martin Lawrence & Will Smith.

DEMOSCENE and Cracktro enthusiast, SOFTgrid started life navigating the dark waters of text user interfaces, with early memories of Bulletin Board Systems, and as time and technology progressed, they eventually obtained the various bits of software needed for their creation, this was by means of WAREZ servers in private chat rooms far from town hall.

SOFTgrid is most at home organizing their existence to a grid, be it pixels or the linear movement of sound on a timeline. ASCII and ANSI are their preferred means of expression, SID and PAULA chips their preferred means of communication.

Berlin-Hamburg duo Session Victim return to the ever-reliable Delusions Of Grandeur imprint
with Chapter Two of their Sidequests trilogy, marking yet another high point in their almost
twenty year journey through heartfelt, sample-rich music. Overflowing with analog warmth, sundrenched textures and irresistible grooves, the release also features a stellar remix from label cofounder and deep house pioneer Jimpster who kicks off the EP.
Here he takes Behind The Glass into spaced out house-not-house territory. With crisp drum
programming, trademark Rhodes, and subtle pads that build over time, his version delivers that
late-night sophistication he's known for—steering the downtempo original in a clubbier direction
without losing its blissed-out essence.
Up next we have a brand new collaborative effort with long time friend, label mate and fellow
sample nerd Nebraska. Make It Happen is a dusty, slo-mo house groove featuring delicate
keys, euphoric strings and that unmistakable sense of journey. It’s just the kind of low-slung epic
house they do best—intimate yet club-ready, nostalgic but never retro.
Flipping over, Too Soft To Be Loud, another collaboration with Viken Arman, follows with a
jazzy, almost samba-esque rhythm and swirling atmospherics. Loose percussion, catchy guitar
riffs and Rhodes stabs collide with off-kilter dub FX and soft vocal snippets giving the track a
laid-back, live-band feel that harks back to their See You When You Get There era.
Hubcap Candy dives deep into funk territory. Nebraska’s on point boogie bassline drives the
track forward as crunchy drums and layers of synths create a dreamlike haze. It’s loopy, moody,
and finds Session Victim at their very best.
Closing out the EP we have the original of Behind The Glass, a headsy, beatdown piece that
slowly unfolds over an unconventional brass-like bassline and delicate guitar textures, paying
homage to the golden age of Trip Hop haziness and it’s pioneer turntable spirit.
Blending crate-digging sensibilities with forward-thinking production, this latest release solidifies
Session Victim’s reputation as genre-blurring tastemakers, and their chemistry with Delusions Of
Grandeur remains as strong as ever

Oliver Dollar presents part four of his Contemporary series on Rekids. Germany’s Oliver Dollar returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with Contemporary Part Four, Parts one through three featured collaborations with Austin Ato, Brillstein, Harvard Bass, Hazmat Live, Boogs, and many more, winning support from the likes of Nightmares on Wax, Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier, Carista, Jennifer Cardini, Dam Swindle, and others. Rick Wade on Norm Talley's Upstairs Asylum are words that will excite any true school house heads. Wade is a production machine who turns out always no-frills, trusty and tracky grooves of the sort that are always essential for building a vibe in a set, and Talley's a fellow Detroit head who has long been helping to shape the house sound. 'So Juicy' begins with a flourish, lavish strings and chunky drums that slide along nicely. Once again, this 2x12" release is beautifully presented in a raw reverse board sleeve, a tactile nod to Classic's earliest releases. Inside, are deep teal and green GMUND card stock inner sleeves with embossed detailing elevate the package into a collector's item worthy of the music it holds. Record One opens with one of the most revered remixes in house history. Isolee's 'Beau Mot Plage' (Freeform Reform Parts 1 & 2), originally licensed from Germany's Playhouse and lovingly reworked by Freeform Five's Anu Pillai with a live ensemble. It's a sprawling, euphoric journey that helped define Classic's international reach and is still widely regarded as one of the greatest house records ever pressed. Up next is Greenskeepers' off-kilter banger 'Bang in Your Face?', showcasing the quirky, 'G-swing' sound for which James Curd and his crew became known for during their long-standing relationship with the label. On the flip, Pépé Bradock's jaw-dropping rework of Iz & Diz's 'Mouth' takes center stage-a remix composed entirely from human sounds, equal parts sensual and surreal. Record Two captures Classic's renewed energy in the 2010s.? Folamour's 'Devoted To U' from his Umami LP is a 10-minute odyssey in groove-warm, progressive, and cinematic, with soaring piano lines and narrative richness. Then comes Crazy P's 'One True Light', shimmering with spacey textures, cosmic energy, and the deep, effortless groove the band has perfected over decades. On Side D, we have Girls of the Internet's lush and emotionally rich 'When U Go', blending soulful vocals with clean, spacious production that balances melancholy with movement. Closing out Volume 2 is Sophie Lloyd's now iconic 'Calling Out', featuring the unstoppable vocal force of Dames Brown. Roy Davis Jr. closes Side B with the propulsive 'About Love' (Solid Groove Remix)-a tough and driving interpretation by Dave Taylor that's long been a DJ favourite in the Classic vaults. Record Two showcases Classic's more recent sonic evolutions. JT Donaldson's return to the label in 2019 came with 'Stay Inside', a rich and breezy groove featuring the soulful voice of Liv.e. It's an elegant and understated slice of modern house with timeless appeal. Then comes Dam Swindle's funk-charged 'Hey Mister'. A punchy, bass-driven jam built around a 70s reggae-disco vocal sample. Raw and infectious, it's been lighting up dance floors worldwide since its release. Luke Solomon's catalogue on Classic is vast, but 'Come on Over', his collaboration with Amp Fiddler, earns its place here. Seeing vinyl release for the first time, this cut overflows with musicality. Amp's passionate vocal, free-time breakdowns, and deep funk grooves deliver pure emotional punch. And to close, a modern masterpiece: Honey Dijon's 'Work' (Extended Mix), taken from her 'Black Girl Magic' LP.
