Delsin welcomes Spanish techno icon Reeko to their Cameron series. Pushing his impressive take on techno for the past 20 years he keeps re-inventing himself, with a recent move on Berlin's Samurai Music presenting a full drum & bass EP as perfect example of this. And also here for Delsin, it's a fresh approach exploring new sides of techno. It's broken and wiggly with dreamy riffs tying it all together. Uplifting mountain valley techno combined with stepping off-beat kick drum jams. It's a flawless pack where Reeko shows he's capable of creating playful heads down techno of any kind. More

Release Info:
The stars aligned to bring another of our all-time favourite producers, and indeed one of the most important musical figures from the Techno sphere to the 170/85 BPM tempo when Reeko sent us a demo late last year. All four tracks perfectly create a fully formed and distinctive stylistic adaptation and were signed instantly. If we imagined what Reeko would sound like at this tempo, we couldn't have envisioned a better reality.

These four tracks make up 'Confront The Serpent' - an ode to the machinations of an Ayahuasca ceremony and its resulting journey of discovery. The Serpent symbolises our shadows and the importance of facing them.

A hazy psychedelic aura floats across these tracks, binding them together, while the kicks possess the perfect frequencies you would expect from such a renowned kick-drum scientist. Percussive and ambient elements for each track create flawless contrasts and shade, while Reeko's subtle low-end work proves the deadly ingredient to send the tracks into a delicious level of hypnotism. 'Smile At Reptile' is especially notable for its deftly reworked, cascading breakbeat and inventive kick/break combo.

A potent new force has arrived at this tempo and we are honoured to be the label that presents the first fruits of this new perspective to the world. More

Next guest on the Ownlife platform is a well known name, in between deejays, selectors and electronic music passionates. Reeko has been a totem in the techno scene, shaping the sound of the genre during the past two decades and releasing some of the most consistent records in this category.

The prolific Spanish artist shows this time, a breathtaking palette of sounds, taking his own direction once more. Melting his signature sound with an experimental approach, putting together powerful basslines with extremely sharpened tones. "Crystal clear" is a piece made to enjoy the abstract side of Reeko's expertly produced compositions with the ethereal taste of the intelligent dance music, ambient deepness and stepping low frequencies. Spanish techno master Reeko makes his mark on Detroit Underground with a release exploring the darker facets of humanity in mesmerizing fashion, with rhythm and drone taking equal importance. “Lovers and Bandits” sets side A off with a brutal broken march, hard kicks building slowly into caverns of sonic noise. “BDSM” twists the sounds of pleasure and pain into an endless dark delay, leading you to the edge and right into “Hard Sex Club”, roiling with indecipherable voices and a hovering synth build that teases but never quite strikes. Side B straightens the beat with “Slaughter”, a searing background noise underpinning an evolving rotation of menace that pushes the beats forward into a pit of noise and sludge. “Sex With God” is a fierce techno rhythm, wet, crunchy, and percussive without the ubiquitous kick drum, building to a crescendo of heat and buzz. Finally, “Submissive Behavior” is a massive paranoid drone, prickly with hunger and menace. On “We Are Bandits”, Reeko strips down his explorations of sound and texture to the barest essences, making for an unsettling and intriguing listen.
