Chicago house producer Andrew Emil (aka Change Request) joins Andy Vaz's Yore label. House music that comes directly from the source – That is Chicago, IL.

The “Nite Dreams” release features remixes (called here Dreamixes) by Emil of one of his own Change Request productions and two by other artists.
The three lustrous Dreamixes on Emil's Nite Dreams are, put simply, irresistible. Chicago-based music collective Artispure (feat. The Remedy) opens the release with the enticingly swinging “Chicago Underground,” its dynamic house groove sprinkled with claps, chunky synth chords, slick hi-hat accents, and soulful vocal interjections. Made over by Emil, the tune's straight-up fabulous. The snappy Change Request production “Sunday's Best” glides breezily on a tropical wave of claps, a skipping house groove, and gentle melodic figures that give the music a nostalgic, even plaintive quality. The closing cut, Emil's soulful treatment of “Sunlight” by native Chicagoan Elbert Phillips and singer Andre Espeut, shows no drop-off. With a snare-popping groove driving the tune and Espeut laying a beautiful vocal across the percolating backdrop, “Sunlight” rivals the other two tracks for quality and appeal. Vaz keeps bringing them strong.

Sometimes life is good, sometimes each and eveyone of us faces difficult times & all the inbetween up & downs - yet sometimes it's simply OK. However, one thing is for sure: We strongly believe this EP is more than just OK. On Yore's 31st release, Label-Owner Andy Vaz delivers straight from the backyards of his Cologne based Deutztroit Studios to the streets of Detroit, collaborating with Niko Marks (Detroit based keyboardist, singer, and producer) on the A1 Track: "Love you Forever": a warm, deep and soulful House anthem with a perfect dancefloor friendly summer Vibe. Something to sure get the groove on and force you to get into your party gear. A2. Features a Remix of Andy Vaz Classic House Hit: "Hurry, Hurry" from his Yore-012 release, by Malik Alston. Malik is a lifelong Detroiter, as well as both a musician and a performer. He has appeared as a featured vocalist with gospel and R&B artist Ortheia Barnes. His poetry and music performances have been featured with the poetry troupe EmRuop and in concert with the Last Poets, Gil Scott-Heron and Jessica Care Moore. Malik received a nomination as 2005 Outstanding Electronic/Dance Writer Producer of the Year at the Detroit Music Awards. He continues to collaborate with many artists, including Alton Miller, Amp Fiddler, brownstudy, Roy Davis, Jr., Doc Link, John Arnold, Recloose, Javontte, Jerry the Cat, Jabril Sun, Szymanski, Keith Worthy, Dwayne Jensen and here now with his "Let the Horn Play Mix" of Hurry, Hurry, remixing Andy Vaz. Resulting in a Jazzy, ic and driving House tune, which clearly demonstrates his outstanding musical skillz. On "Worst Fantasies" on B1 the moods shifts drastically. A very trippy, Hip Hop-ish Acid House type masterpiece, with a strong hypnotic and trippy feel. This is thinking outside the Box and standing out from the Norm. Old school Acid Jazz influenced House and a sure garant for messing with your brain. Play this out loud and cats gonna snap no doubt. The B2 Track: "U did me Wrong" brings a slow tempo hypnotic House Track in a Beatdown alike manner. Rough Beats, great Bassline and repetitive samples round up this very diverse 4 Track ep which is full of moods & idea's in all it's diversity. If this is to be considered a House EP, it sure showcases all aspects of House in one Record reaching the genre's fullest potential. Word!
