The single, which boasts the important collaboration with UK soul legend Omar, was written and produced remotely during Covid, waiting for the right moment to be released. Now it seems that the moment has finally arrived and to complete the offer alongside the original version are two remixes by Abacus, prominent figure in the deep house scene since the '90s, plus a mid-tempo dub version by Italian talent Edoardo Della Bitta aka EDB. and Alberto Lincetto. The three songs featured represent the deep desire to communicate an evolution of sound
and to tell a story that goes beyond traditional paradigms and genre labels. The “chiaroscuro”, lights and
shadows, that characterize HUMA's music are once again the result of compositional and sound explorations that
travel from jazz to 70’s funk, from deep house to electronic, with echoes of Brazil and film soundtracks. Side A
opens with the misty and romantic landscape of "Free and Lost”, in which acoustic, electronic and deep bass
sounds blend in a dark and spiritual atmosphere. The journey develops further into "An Ordinary Life” which sees
the participation of Yeofi Andoh, aka A Race Of Angels, Los Angeles-based vocalist and co-author of the track,
and of Amilcar Soto Rodriguez on classical guitar. It slowly emerges from the initial psychedelic sphere, landing
on luminous harmonies and funk rhythms to reiterate a contrast that speaks of life cycles and the relationship
between man and nature. This path ends with the title track "Selva" in which the synthetic percussive tangle
keeps the listener in a meditative state of disorientation guided by the melodic lines of a dusty Fender Rhodes. It
is the temporary epilogue of a story that has just begun..

Michele Manzo - musician and producer who boasts international collaborations with Omar Lye-Fook,
Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime - is the man behind the second release of Angis Music. The EP
presents 3 different scenarios resulting from a spontaneous live session, which reflects the multiple
influences and symphonic approach of an artist with various styles. This work, inspired by the science
fiction novels of William Gibson - godfather of the cyberpunk genre - opens with the song “Burning
Chrome”, conceived as a nighttime escape taking you at lightening speed through the alleys of a city
that is galaxies away. Continuing on to the B side we have “Chiba City Park”, where the broken beat and
abstract harmonies create an ambience similar to that of those in Neuromancer. Finally, “Nebula’s
Grace” is a cosmic jam where time slowly floats away in dub echoes and disappears into the depth of
space..

The Mixtapers land on the newborn Angis Music, founded by Samuele Pagliai, with a warm-sounding
and futuristic EP: a 4-track 12" which stems out from a collection of recordings of jam sessions in which
acoustic instruments interact with electronic ones. This synergy allowed to forge a metaphysical
alchemy of sounds, inspired by distant, cyberpunk worlds. The path begins with the title track “Sun
Metaphors”, driven by an enveloping bassline which leads us to exotic and surreal landscapes,
dominated by a vibrating groove. The glorious vocals of the singer ALO sound like a tribute to the Sun
and more generally to warm, bright energies, like a Gospel choir. The same spirituality resonates in
“Trinity”, a cosmic funk trip dangling over a filmscore-like Symphony with flute and Keytar interludes.
And if it is true that the sacred has always something profane in it, side A serves also “Smokey
Reflection” which is pure sensuality in its most deep and introspective form. “Stay (Away From Me)” is
the open end epilogue of a fervent journey, where the sounds of the drum machine and congas recall
the atmosphere of bossa nova, also because of the presence of Sara Lima's voice. A soft rhythm track
with a progressive interplay of smooth, elegant voices. All of this creates a uniquely intimate, relaxed
sonic environment dedicated to aural ecstasy.

The video, filmed in Rio in the early 1980’s, is particular special and is well worth 5 minutes of your time. Marketed as “workout music" at the time, ‘Estrelar’ was his best-selling record with a total of around 90,000 sales. ‘Estrelar’ is taken from his 1983 self titled LP released on Som Livre.
'Alleluia' –– two of the masters of the Brazilian Boogie sound joined forces to make a self-titled LP released in 1982 that epitamised the sound of early 80’s Rio de Janeiro. Synths and keys float over razor sharp samba, jazz and 2-step drum grooves backed by huge layers of horns. Production is as shiny, bright and ultra clean as it ever got! ‘Alleluia’ is a mid tempo groover, with rich horns, guitar, synth and vocal lines. An end of the night jam if ever there was one. Released on the LP mentioned above and also on 7” in 1983. More

Residing in the big apple New York and baptised in the early 90’s of the warehouses of the Midwest we can safely say the man has seen and experienced the music first hand. Boss of Transit records with the first official vinyl release dating to 1999, Myungho has acquired a ton of knowledge through the years of digging and listening to the music on any medium it came on. Having an opportunity to witness his heroes and get inspired by them sufficiently to create his own story within the sound frequencies.

As mood changers go, this track is up there with the best. Last year whilst DJing with miche at Shapes festival in the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland, a breathtaking yet ominous Alpine sky suddenly became a picture postcard moment. The clouds parted and a double rainbow formed, as miche dropped Studio Rio's bossa nova remake of Bill Withers’ all-time classic 'Lovely Day'. From there, the dancefloor shifted gears and morphed into full-swing feel-good vibes, in a beautiful, spontaneous moment nobody could have planned for.
Mr Bongo now proudly presents a reissue of this brilliant, bossa-channelling Bill Withers reinterpretation from Studio Rio’s 2014 release ‘The Brazil Connection’. Masterminded by the German, Grammy award-winning Berman Brothers, the project was born out of their deep love of Brazilian music. “Our goal was to bring the Brazilian joie de vivre to iconic performances by well-known artists. What would these classic songs sound like had they been recorded in the studios of Rio de Janeiro in the first place, with the best Brazilian musicians and arrangers?” the brothers reflect.
Capturing the life force of Brazil, the beating heart that is its music, they set out to find the musicians who would fit best with their concept. Landing in Rio in 2013 a series of coincidences led to them being introduced to their idols Marcos Valle and Roberto Menescal, who both agreed to come on board. The Berman Brothers also wanted to find some of the musicians who recorded with one of Brazil’s most influential composers Tom Jobim. “Fifty years after Jobim made the music that really defines bossa nova, we found that many of his sidemen were still active, including Paulo Braga of Jobim’s famed rhythm section. It was magic; everything just fell into place.”
There's no question that the original of ‘Lovely Day’ is up there as one of the most feel-good, spirit-lifting anthems of all time. Here the brothers, with the help of a whole host of Brazil’s finest musicians, rework Bill’s soul-fuelled groove into a bossa nova slice of sunshine. With the blessing of Bill and Sony, they were given access to the original multitracks so they could incorporate Bill’s vocals perfectly into the new arrangement.
Joy-injected horns and bouncing double bass blend with the smile-inducing samba flavour of Pretinho da Serrinha’s cavaquinho playing. Tying it all together Torcuato Marinao who worked with the likes of Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, completes the line-up as arranger of the songs.
The perfect end-of-the-night track, mood lifter or soul warmer, remakes don’t get much better than this. More

"Echo Chamber" drops an irresistible rave stab into the dubber dungeons and "Kuro" celebrates a very samurai style of a halftime cut to round up this breaksfest menu with ease.

Collier's compositions and lyrics focus on using music to communicate deeper principles that are part of everyday. Isaiah showcases these principles through sounds that evolve within the titles: Love, Compassion, & Perspective. These principles once taken fully in are arranged to deliver the message that there is a Divine energy connecting through us all and is seen within all things. The album opens up with LOVE, featuring the legendary Chicago vocalist Dee Alexander channeling her energy to deliver the message of love to the human family. With lyrics written by Collier specific to Alexander's qualities as a maternal figure to him and other musicians, the message remains strong within the music throughout the album. Searching deeper to share more sincerely through our interactions with others, is the albums objective. Collier & The Chosen Few showcase those Principle with Musicianship and an unyielding commitment to put their all into each breath of this episodic journey. The album features the legendary Saxophonist Ari Brown, who has mentored Isaiah for over a decade in their native Chicago. The conversation between student and master evolves on the song "Compassion". Collier's steps into the vocalist roll on the infectious, Perspective (Peace & Love) which serves as Collier's acknowledgement of Pharoah Sanders for his musical contributions, that features percussive sounds that connect the ancestors of the diaspora.
