Dialog - High Grade (Feat. Benji & Josei)
Dialog return with the second instalment of their DOT series, exploring dub techno and soundsystem atmospherics through an experimental but deeply rooted lens, voiced by the father-son partnership of Benji and Josei.
The studio and stage collaboration finds Samuel van Dijk (aka celebrated Dutch electro innovator VC-118A) and Finnish producer Rasmus Hedlund pooling their considerable production expertise into expansive cut which channel the experimental tendencies and sonic traditions of dub into their own distinctive riddims, matching vintage processing with modernist sound design and holding down a physical pulse suited for the dance as much as private meditation.
Following an initial ambient double LP for noted label Astral Industries, they met Benji, originally from Jamaica but a resident of Finland for more than 30 years, and his son Josei through a studio neighbour in Helsinki. A productive run of sessions has resulted in a strong body of material which will appear on this inspired series, carrying dub techno forwards with an approach to the culture which is all their own.

Dialog - Side A (Live)

Dialog - Side B (Live)
Experimental dub techno duo Dialog present their first officially released live recording. Captured at the intimate French festival Pe:rsona, from the team behind the Positive Education events, the recording captures Samuel van Dijk (VC-118A) and Rasmus Hedlund exploring mechanical rhythmic impulses and organic tones and textures—malleable metallic and elemental forms passing through chasms of processing and shrouded in womb-like melancholic hum. Across two sides of immersive, head-nodding sonics, Dialog take the principles of dub techno into forward-thinking territory with a distinctly tactile approach to sound design—a mind-melting listen for casual chillers and committed voyagers alike.

AI-31 sees the debut release from a new collaboration between Samuel van Dijk (Netherlands) and Rasmus Hedlund (Finland). Both key proponents to the scene in Northern Europe, they come together with mutual understanding and a common vision to sound. Dialog acts as a conversational exchange that sees the interplay of dynamic frequencies, evocative imagery and contemporary sonic art. Spread across four sides, the album as a whole exists as a kind of metaphysical process, eternally growing and contracting - change is the only constant, marked by a continuous progression of sound and space.
Expansive, deep, and at moments arresting, Dialog unfolds with sweeping soundscapes and shimmers with tactile sonic details. A chasmic rift of scintillating drone structures, each layer exposes a series of ever-deeper shades. In a play of dynamic dualities, the pair harnesses both earthly materials as well as access to more ethereal dimensions in the music. Side A begins with sub-terrestrial ruptures, gestating in a process of constant elemental changes. Rattling hits sputter amongst a state of nascent chaos, yet continues to be maintained in self-regulating stasis. Side B sets a more introspective tone, whispering with ghostly artefacts and bubbling synth lines, before building into a driving energy of layered field recordings and mechanistic timbres. The essence of form continues to be contested, until it subsides into momentary calm on side C. A cleansing period of soft drones float into the space and the pace slows, washing away remnants of past. The journey continues with side D's conclusion - a solemn contour that reaches its internal extent, to then finally return to its source.

2
Silicon Scally & Fleck ESC - Stax
3
Silicon Scally & Fleck ESC - Good Ride
4
Silicon Scally & Fleck ESC - Intox Remedy
Silicon Scally and Fleck E.S.C. need no introduction at this stage. Both artists are veterans not just of Sheffield's Central Processing Unit label but of modern electro as a whole, with the pair having decades of skin in the game at this point. Their new release, a four-track EP entitledSlipwhere Silicon Scally handles the first half and Fleck E.S.C. the second, carries itself with the adventurous confidence of a record made by masters of their craft. Slipopener 'Phased Array' is exactly the kind of top quality machine-funk tackle you'd expect from this meeting of minds. The beat programming is deliciously tactile from the off, hissing and clanking like machinery in an old Detroit factory. The feel of 'Phased Array' is altered, though, when the chords come in, a series of alternating floating sounds which give the track an altogether eerier feel. When all of this is coupled with the otherworldly synth blurts that periodically force their way to the front of the track, the overall effect is a piece of real depth assembled by an expert practitioner. Phased Array' is followed up by 'Stax', another brilliantly propulsive number. Here we find the drum beat - one which is a little reminiscent of that Kraftwerk tune about the numbers, no less - once more offset by some decidedly more shadowy synth work, all while arpeggiated keyboard licks work against an intricate web of basslines, chords and unidentifiable flying synth tones. Fleck E.S.C. opens theSlipB-side with 'Good Ride', a number where the nudge-wink title is borne out by a track built around looped snippets of sighing vocals. That said, with a bassline that sounds like a blurting old landline telephone, a ghoulish synth lead and all manner of motion-sick breakdowns, the 'ride' in question could just as well be aWipeout-style whizz through hyperspace as anything more suggestive. 'Good Ride' also sets itself apart from the other joints here by showing off a swaying halftime breakdown. 'Intox Remedy',Slip's closer, wraps the EP in a manner which continues some of the trends of the record's earlier tracks - richly tuneful chords, precision-engineered broken beat drum programming and a wide palette of delightfully unusual synth tones are all present and correct. However, there is also something about the chords here which pares back the eeriness of previous joints for a bit more of a wide-eyed, stargazing feel, and as such 'Intox Remedy' sees the record out by placing the listener firmly back in the cosmos. Tough enough for the dancefloor and intricate enough for home listening, theSlipEP is a fabulous collaboration from two of the most respected voices in the electro game.

Kiko Navarro - Ijó Yá (feat. Dele Sosimi & Lizzy Dosunmu)
2
Kiko Navarro - Ijó Yá (Voilaaa Remix)
Lovemonk is thrilled to present a collaboration that carries a special kind of significance. 'Ijó Yá' sees long-time Lovemonk amigo Kiko Navarro join forces with Afrobeat icon Dele Sosimi and Lizzy Dosunmu. They meet like old friends under carnival lights, their grooves falling into place with effortless warmth. Together they deliver a soulful, propulsive and exuberant tune, the kind you just don't want to leave. No tricks, just feel. Voilaaa rounds things off by offering an irresistible remix with his signature magic touch. The track moves with confident disco and boogie heat, aptly Nigerian-informed, unfolding through a groove that feels expansive, physical and effortless at once. Lizzy Dosunmu's voice leads the song with a magnetic presence. Her vocal lines are beautifully supported by Dele Sosimi's backing vocals, adding depth, warmth and a sense of communal strength. The lyrics resonate with the zeitgeist, with reflections on words, actions and their consequences woven into call-and-response chants and Yoruba phrases. In a time when language carries weight and actions echo loudly, the song taps into a broader collective awareness. At the centre of it all is the exchange between Kiko Navarro and Dele Sosimi – a collaboration marked by intuition and flow, where ideas lock in quickly and move with confidence. On the flip, Voilaaa takes the track somewhere else entirely. His remix is unmistakably Voilaaa: elastic, funky and sun-soaked, stretching the groove into a looser shape while keeping the original's energy and intent fully alive.

With their upcoming album Waves, Moonchild enters a bold new chapter. A deeply personal and emotionally raw project, Waves explores themes of grief, healing, resilience, and self-worth, eschewing the love songs that once dominated their catalog. "This album is about processing loss and stepping into your power," says Amber. "It's a lyrical departure, but it reflects what I've been going through these past few years." The project also marks a return to in-person collaboration and a new embrace of sampling and sonic experimentation. The result is an album that feels more vulnerable and grounded than ever, while still pushing the boundaries of their signature sound.

Freedom - Can't You See
2
Freedom - Sunshine
Freedom's time on this earth was painfully short. The group formed in 1975, made up of young musicians studying at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Drawing inspiration from the great funk and soul outfits of the era — the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire,The Bar-Kays and Kool & the Gang— Freedom quickly developed a sound built on tight horn arrangements, bubbling rhythm sections and uplifting vocals designed for packed dancefloors. It wasn't long before the band built a reputation across Mississippi and throughout the American South as a powerful live funk outfit. In 1977, just two years after forming, the group recorded and independently released their debut single "Can't You See" b/w "Sunshine". What's remarkable about this record is how fully formed it sounds. For a band in their early twenties, the rhythm section, arrangements and vocal performances feel incredibly assured — polished, pulsating and full of promise. On the strength of this release the band soon signed with Malaco Records, where they would go on to release four albums and their best-known recording, "Get Up and Dance". "Can't You See" leans into the modern soul-boogie sound with a propulsive groove and silky vocal hooks, reportedly inspired by a track fromThe Emotions. On the flip, "Sunshine" switches gears with crisp brass lines, deep-pocket rhythm and joyous, club-ready energy.

The Kanpai Quartet - Sguardo Celestiale
2
The Kanpai Quartet - Five Days
Second release from London based jazz quartet and recorded at Abbey Road Studios. Sguardo Celestiale kicks things off with some heavy jazz funk vibes for the dancers. Five Days slows things down a little and veers more towards the bands library influence. Limited to 250 copies.

Skeptical - Blimp

Skeptical - So Good

Skeptical - Technology

Skeptical - Bad Generation
Ashley Tindall, AKA Skeptical, returns in peak form with Blimp EP — the fourth release on his Rubi Records imprint — delivering four meticulously crafted cuts of uncompromising drum & bass. Opening with the title track, Blimp sets the tone with a deep, steppy wobbler that nods subtly to the title track from his second Rubi Records release, Capsize EP. All the signature Skeptical hallmarks are here: hypnotic, pared-back metronomic drums and shimmy-inducing, undulating subs that demand movement. Yet this time there's a noticeable shift — warm, underlying melodic pads bring an unexpected emotional depth. It's not dreamy, but it is more introspective than we're used to, showing another layer to his sonic palette. So Good flips the script entirely. A dark, cinematic growler, it leans into ghosted vocal fragments and a futuristic film-noir aesthetic. Tense, claustrophobic rhythms and sinister textures create an unsettling atmosphere — tailor-made for those lights-out, pressure-heavy dancefloor moments. Third comes the undeniable monster of the EP, Technology. Trademark "stink-face" Skeppiness is in full effect from the first bar. Disjointed sci-fi stabs and eerie pads collide with clinical, almost militaristic drum programming, all anchored by a devastatingly weighty bassline. Movement isn't optional — this is pure Skeptical, uncompromising and lethal. Closing the EP is Bad Generation, a sound system–influenced weapon that finds Skeptical operating at his dubwise best. Fusing minimal D&B with heavyweight, roots-inspired rhythms is no easy task, but here it's executed with effortless authority. It's equally suited to shelling down a rave or getting lost in a deep, eyes-closed session. Four tracks. Four distinct moods. 100% Skeptical. Blimp EP confirms once again that his sound continues to evolve — sharper, deeper, and more refined with every release.
