E-Missions welcomes back Rush Plus with three forward thinking techno cuts and a remix from Enemy Records boss Dustin Zahn. Comprised of Jackson Ryland and Jus Nowhere, Rush Plus are known for helming their Rush Plus Records and Metro Xpress imprints when not appearing on Ambivalent’s Valence and P.Leone and Caiazzo’s E-Missions, with the latter releasing their critically acclaimed ‘The Sweat’. Their refreshing take on techno has resulted in continual support from all corners of the scene including top tier names like Ben UFO, DVS1, Daniel Avery, and many more. Opening at full pelt, ‘Staring At The Sun’ pertains to the duo’s ability to master rhythm, fusing manic syncopated patterns with clashing keys and ringing bells until Dustin Zahn’s rework takes a lighter approach with cosmic synths and dusty brushes. ‘Waverunner' is next, blending acid lines with an ambient soundscape reminiscent to a retro video game, making way for the galloping ‘Sh,Boom’ with its hypnotic vocals, rumbling low end and sonic zaps to conclude matters.

Washington DC’s Rush Plus drop four superb techno cuts entitled ‘The Sweat EP’ on P.Leone and Caiazzo’s E-Missions imprint this June. Having dropped three quality releases on their own eponymous label, Rush Plus continue to turn heads with their imaginative productions, gaining support from the upper echelons of techno with names like Rodhad, Ben Klock, DJ Spider, Ben Sims, Slam, Answer Code Request, DJ Deep and many more getting behind them. Following up a release on Ambivalent’s Valence Records, they now join P.Leone and Caiazzo’s rapidly rising E-Missions imprint.
‘Megabust’ initiates the package with twisted sci-fi synths and syncopated drums whilst rattling metallic elements operate throughout. Intricate hits of percussion are soon followed by rumbling bass in ‘Rebirth’ as the track gradually becomes more and more twisted using filtered effects and soaring pads, making way for the shuffling ‘Sweat’ with its menacing stabs and echoing voices. Finally, the package concludes with ‘Slow Release’ - a high-octane and ominous roller.

A wise character once reminded her to tread the heavy ground with light feet. After a whirlwind two years since moving back to Hong Kong and starting from scratch, Xiaolin has re-emerged from the depths of her studio stronger than ever with a second EP - her first vinyl release to date.

Inspired by the Tower card from the Tarot, Tower Moment EP is a cosmic journey through four stages of healing: darkness, acceptance, transformation and freedom.

The record begins with “Dark Night” (of the Soul), followed by the gentle comfort of “Safe With Me”, a nostalgic electro ballad. On Side B: a chuggy tune layered with textures and samples, “Lemuria”, transports listeners to a surreal land of self-discovery, while Blue Hour completes the experience with his anthemic “Elevator” remix.

With her signature mix of 909 kicks and 808 breaks blended with acid bass lines, subtle percussion and ethereal melodies, Xiaolin’s organic approach to techno and electro showcases her colourful palette and sensitivity as a musician, along with a love for jazz and warm synth sounds from the early 90’s era. Guber is a blue-collar bass music producer from Paris. While you may think he’s newcomer in the local electronic scene, he has already released several records from Paris-based Beat X Changers, Bad Winners Records labels as well as several self-releases that has been heard all around Europe. His influences come from the 90’ metal scene to the UK Bass 2010 decade bangers, both following common paths of massive sub-frequencies shocks and obsessional drum loop. When Guber is self-releasing, his visual identity is heavily influenced by asset plants & machinery from the Energy Industry and enable to finally produce overall tracks with a universe deeply reflecting his own day-to-day work environment.

Wrong Ibiza EP follows 2 opposite dynamics from mental endothermic deployments to spontaneous exothermic loop deliveries. One face that is more uncertain, with bass lines densely packed with Brazilian-influenced drums, while the other is composed with tech-house cuts dimensioned and played around different rhythms and tempos. Guber shows in 'Wrong Ibiza' he is a savant in creating an engaging tapestry of sample loops, a sonic magic carpet ride of forgotten genres, a ride that does not lean on nostalgia to create magic but utilizing his uncompromising ears to weaves and waves decades of dance music sounds into a new end-product for the here and now.

The final remix from Ploy is overarching and consolidates the whole EP around sharp resequenced loops based on the main sample cuts. Diligent 148 bpm-remix, the track focuses on the development of hard cut vocals from the original mix, mechanically deployed among muddy atmospheric breaks. Side elements moving forward enhance the whole structure to deliver pure mental vibe construction. More

Jonathan Kusuma is no stranger to club music. He has played, produced and re-edited multiple works. This is what he excels at. But on Dream Bot, he wants his audience to discover a more introspective side of his. Raised in Indonesia, where rhythms are abound, be it from a folk song sung in a ceremony, a machine in a soul-crushing factory or a Boombox on the back of a bicycle, Jonathan’s ears are destined for a career absorbed in rhythm and sound.

With 5 tracks of kaleidoscopic rhythms and introspective moods on Dream Bot, he is paying homage to his rich musical education and heritage. Layered percussive samples come to mind as well as the intricate interplay of gamelans and moody arpeggios. They both evoke their distinct mournful tunings. Dream Bot is a reminder of his roots and the beauty of the sounds on the Indonesian streets that have left many ears in awe. More

Mary Yuzovzskaya's 'The More Your Know' EP is released via her vinyl-only label Monday Off in spring and is her first solo EP since 2022. The Berlin-based artist returns to her imprint following her tracks taking root on labels like Kvalia, Mnestic, and Semantica.

Up first on the record, 'Ittiologia' wriggles up in intensity with unbent drums and mysterious pads, building up to an unexplored alien soundscape marked by distant, otherworldly sonar pings. 'Micologia' follows, squelchy synths prattle amongst each other as rich bursts of low-end and splashes of 303 envelop the mind.

On the flip, 'Astrometria' reaches for the starry sky in full modular glory.
