Human Space Machine makes another visit to earth with “Searching”: a fresh four tracker consisting of effective yet deeply heady pieces of club music.
Following his well received EP “Cycle”, HSM explores a darker vibe, one that has become signature to his more recent works. Human Space Machine’s music never floats too far from dance floor focus, but once again tirelessly sparks interest to the ear with complex rhythms and tribal percussion.
‘Searching’ makes a big entrance, an unpretending piece of serious acidness, not ever letting the listener leave the groove, yet carrying a glimpse of hope throughout. After comes ‘SP4C3’, pulling into deeper territory, with minimalistic techno-ey drums and a dash of psy-influences for those really late or early moments. Flipping over, the B-side punches out an ominous and broken cut ‘Ritm’ that crosses over many genres but is ultimately a signature HSM track, one for the subs. Rounding off, Human Space Machine’s ’SH3’ showcases his passion for faster pasted grooves and mind-tripping synths combined in a rhythmical journey. More

Fluid, perspicuous, hypnotic, deep, Amsterdam's Human Space Machine, co-founder of the renown De Lichting collective, offers up a Swiss Army Knife of poignant techno tracks perfect for the mid-day festival set when the afternoon sun beats down and for the dark corners of the night when all you want to do is disappear. Record opener "Mopo" thuds hypnotically with a digital, crystallized, acid-tinged bass line into the second track "Arp", whose squishy chord stabs punctuate a mesmerizing rolling shuffle. Penultimate track "Lyf" plays out like a high speed pursuit- where pulsating tension propels the listener deeper into the groove while record closer "Newendam" bubbles around a bouncing bass hook offering teetering glimpses of light and bliss as the sun rise teases. Comes in a special duo-pantone printed jacket by Rotterdam based artist Tim Mastik. With words by Gregory Markus.

Human Space Machine - Track003
A new spring, a new label, a new direction. NOWHERE is closely linked to the Utrecht-bunch of Something Happening Somewhere. They kick off with the acid tingled Substance EP by Human Space Machine. Part of the Amsterdam techno collective De Lichting, Human Space Machine is driven by Mike Jungerius . Although he does sprinkle some techno-DNA over his spacious productions, his machines often take you much deeper into the realm. The title track alone is a truly hypnotising affair. Close your eyes and soon all that matters is releasing those hips while forgetting where you are. Onwards with Dong, which will remind some Dutch techno heads of early Steve Rachmad productions. Futuristic funk in optima forma. 30803 is a word play on two very important instruments in dance music, when acid house was a big thing and the world around you was still simple. Closer Track003 is equally vintage, nodding back to the days when The Black Dog and As One were considered the new techno gods. UK beauty with a crystal-clear Amsterdam twist. If NOWHERE means getting lost in the machine, we gladly tag along.

After four years, De Lichting is back with a new double album: Drie Nul Drie!
This fresh addition to the infamous compilation series revolves around a central theme: The 303 Acid Bassline.
The double LP format has always been the weapon of choice for the crew when it comes to implementing diversity in their musical story.
Despite the 303 being a rather limited concept, everyone within the collective finds a unique way to approach this classic element that has been rinsed for decades.
From the typical techno bomb of “MJM002” to the sneaky after hours tech gem “5421”, or the Detroit influenced chill-out cut “Tool”, the album bursts with playfulness and creativity, while coming together logically sound wise. More

I feel honoured to finally present my first EP on de Lichting. All tracks except A1 were made during my COVID-19 quarantine between 8th-19th July 2021 on an EMU E64 and KORG MS2000. With the EP, I tried to cover most of the sounds that I regularly play during my DJ sets. Side A starts with two house cuts, ‘CAL01’ and ‘Emspacer’ inspired by some of my favourite house records, and ends with the electro title track ‘RDS THEME’. Side B, starts with the minimal-ish ‘Substance’, followed by two Ambient Techno/IDM cuts ‘Trapswet’ and ‘Cwejfx’. Personally, I feel that the tracklist reflects the process of being isolated, which on the one hand, enabled me to (finally) work on music without being distracted, and on the other hand, got me into a melancholic mood over time’.

Nathan Kofi - Words Of Affirmation
Oi! This is Nathan Kofi, introducing; “Voltage Controlled Love Affair”. A story about love, love for frequencies, love for the journey, love for the culture and love for ‘the self’.
This record will be my debuting ep since my name changed from Nathan Surreal to Nathan Kofi. And that transformation is evident throughout this ep. The A-side kinda represents ‘the old me’. A1: My Heart Will Go On and A2: Words of Affirmation are both tracks made a little while ago and are cut out of the same wood; a family affair if you wish. They consist of similar samples and thus share sonic DNA, yet reveal two completely different characters in their experience.
Both tracks are fundamentally rooted in a classic ‘house’ ethos and display the use of vocals to enhance the listening experience while it progresses to its full potential. Although the “a1” exudes a more galvanising upbeat energy with a strong pulse triggering bodily movements, the “b1” takes a different route and evokes a more collective meditative journey; hence the title.
Moving over to the b-side. This side represents a new me; personally and musically. Both tracks are rooted in a sense of authenticity and fresh renewed energy. This side moves away from the 4-to-the-floor formula and introduces breaky patterns and melodic experiments.
While a lot of people, including myself suffered through several lockdowns triggering mental struggles as a consequence, I had a really hard time finding peace and balance in life and in the studio. B1: ‘Platonic Intimacy’ is the result of many frustrating studio sessions trying to find my mojo back; trying to reinvent myself to rekindle the experience of bliss and joy while music-making. This track, in particular, brings up the topic of writer's block, mental health and blockages alike artists are suffering from. But when those demons are fought, those barriers are broken, mountains are moved – It is the start of something new, and beautiful; ‘Platonic Intimacy’. The B2: ‘Candy Girl’, in essence, a straight-up sugar-coated electro banger with a mood, yet simultaneously signifies the power of ‘reclaiming’ what is yours.
Best,
Nathan Kofi More

Hi, this is Remco, who made the music for this record. These tracks are my take on techno and electro cuts with an experimental twist. But I’d rather share a bit on the underlying theme of what this record means to me.
Digital Plant System, Solvation, Labyrinth and Altar all touch upon the subject of not always being able to change difficult situations that you encounter. It has occurred to me that the more you seek, the more you will keep looking. Digital Plant System for me symbolizes how it can feel very hard if not impossible to understand the world and how it works, while Solvation and Labyrinth as you might guess by their titles, feel like dwelling on certain problems and getting stuck in thought loops about them. The final track Altar is all about surrendering to the fact that a solution might not come by working ever so hard on analyzing it, but simply yielding to something bigger, and stop resisting.
This record feels very personal to me even though it’s one of the clubbier projects I’ve put out, which is why I like to share some of the symbolism these tracks hold for me. I really hope you enjoy them.
Sincerely,
Remco More

KAAP - Dead On Arrival
Amsterdam producer Kaap steps forward on his own De Lichting imprint with three twisted jams of deep and playful techno. The passionate gearhead, known for his dubby takes on house and techno, started his Working Titles playground back in 2017 by running a niche cassette outlet Yield on the side. In late 2018 he merged into the prolific De Lichting collective and is a frequent guest on Indigo Aera's AEX series. After many years of hard work, Kaap's new solo EP is surfacing, and it's worth the wait. Over the course of three tracks, Kaap shows high levels of creativity. The first track 'Razor' is a bouncy bass wobbler, its rubbery acid lines and crispy percussion make it an ideal party starter. Title track 'Omen' reaches for deeper grounds, a deep and murky groover enlightened by tactical bleepy rhythms. Kaap's love for dub-techno triumphs on the lengthy b-side as a closer on this EP. With over ten minutes of hazy atmospheres and mesmerizing pads, it builds and builds towards the rolling fields of euphoria.

De Lichting announces its first solo record “Znton EP”, by the courtesy of Boris Acket (half of Working Titles). Boris delivers a conceptual club package of six lingering yet pounding groovers, ranging from playful minimal to dreamy house and more UK to techno influenced bass music. Four out of six tracks made their way onto vinyl, while the other two will be available digital on De Lichting’s Bandcamp page. Produced in one run with just a drum computer, mono synth, sampler, tape echo and a mixer, the release comprises a solid overlapping sound, but preserves its diversity through shimmering delays, distorting ring modulations and ever haunting synth patterns.

De Lichting is back for their second double vinyl album titled; “Twee”. The collective showcases a genuinely sensitive and pure sound resulting in an emotionally charged album.
The A-side kicks off with Boris Acket & Kaap. The live and improvised performance “De Tuin” starts as a percussive soundscape and evolves into light footed ambiance, which resonates to a designated chill-out space, followed by “Verwar” of Eversines. A darker hedonistic cut thanks to its atonal pads and heavy but sensual low end. A polyrhythmic breakbeat is introduced, which releases the tension and clears all the grey clouds to its sonic spectrum.
Human Space Machine & queniv take over the B-side this time, working their way through an emotional techno journey with Human Space Machine’s “Feels” and the most apocalyptical techno banger we’ve heard from queniv so far called “U.I.C”.
Switching records to the second vinyl, we start on the C-side with Boris Acket’s “Humming”, a house anthem sure to jerk the tears of euphoric dancers. Continuing, three other cuts which are Nathan Surreal’s “Chaos In The Echoes”; a mental deep weapon, queniv’s museum inspired experiment “Kruller Muller” and “Onvoorwaardelijk” by RDS. C4 lives up to its number; blowing up clubs with a lovely sensitive yet dangerous electro bomb of a track.
When the concluding side is put on, we’re taken aback by Kaap’s “Hartzeer”, a heart aching combo of 707 drums, grungy textures and a rolling 16th bass, which goes right in the feels. RDS is featured a second time on D2 with “Haat & Liefde”, resulting in the most acoustic sounding track on the compilation before we end with Eversines’ “2Anticipate”. An ambient cut where the 303 acid synth has hardly ever sounded so soft, tender and more sincere than you’d expect. And so, the album is wrapped up and implies a feeling of a new start to the next compilation.

In the episode „Didschn,“ the town faces an unusual crisis as a mysterious figure known as Super Flu arrives. Contrary to its
name, Super Flu is a benevolent being with the ability to heal ailments by absorbing them into itself. Mar+Mer, a pair of curious
twins intrigued by Super Flu‘s powers, seek to understand its nature and offer assistance. Meanwhile, Ivan Masa, a skeptical
scientist, fears the unknown entity and aims to contain it. As tensions rise, Super Flu demonstrates its ability to heal not just
physical ailments but emotional wounds as well, bringing unity and understanding to the town. In the end, Mar+Mer and Ivan
Masa join forces to protect Super Flu from outside threats, realizing that its presence is a gift rather than a menace to Didschn. More

Release Info
8Kays delivers an inspiring label debut on Watergate Records, as the artistic project of Ukrainian sound-producer and live act Iryna Shvydka reinforces why there’s so much excitement surrounding her with the slick ‘Falling Down’ EP.
A collaborative rich EP, 8Kays links with Italian pair Glowal for the punchy ‘Matemática’, that brings plenty of eerie minor key vibes to the dancefloor thanks to the vocal contribution from Brasilian singer Abrão. ‘Falling Down’ sees 8Kays team up with the Buenos Aires-based producer and live act Juan Hansen for a captivating slice of electronic prog lit up by Hansen’s memorable vox and delicate strings. One for those special end-of-night moments.
Dutch pair Colyn & Beswerda suit up ‘Falling Down’ for a different occasion, adding a tougher backbone, while teasing out all the melodic flourishes to craft a remix that’s functional and stunning in equal doses. Man-of-the moment Chris Avantgarde then ramps up the intensity to eleven adding his own re-rub that’s everything we’ve come to love about the producer: bold, powerful and memorable. The EP ends with a terrific 8Kays solo cut, the luminescent ‘Lyra’, a dreamy arpeggio-driven gem that closes out the work beautifully.

Jive Talk - Shadow Caster
iveTalk - Still Guv’nin EP (inc. Voigtmann and Thoma Bulwer Remixes).
Fresh off the back of their release of the Ghost’s label (Ghost Rec) Jive Talk deliver a naughty bassline driven A-side “Still Guvn’in’” and deeper garage flex on the B-side. Voigtmann’s remix is probably the house-iest or Claus-iest we’ve heard from the top draw selector and producer. It’s a hands up in the air ‘Classique’ sounding remix for “any-time of the night track”, to quote Enzo. More

Risk Assessment - Dancin' In My Eyes
Stereo:type presents its first vinyl release from UK producer Risk Assessment, already known for notable releases on Glitterbox, No Fuss, Midnight Riot and Tinted to name but a few. With four original tracks all ploughing the rich furrow of 80s nu disco vibe that he's been championing of late, with 'Baby Call Me' a glitzy, glitterballl-teasing vocal track with a slice of Cameo-style funk thrown in for good measure leading the charge. 'Can You Dig It?' is loopier and more 'track'-orientated, essential DJ material, while the B-side boasts the filtered, soul-inflected house of 'Want You Back' and the glorious Barry White-esque tones of disco monster 'Dancin' In My Eyes'. Huge on all counts.

Matthias - Les Rythmes Sont Robotiques
Superluminal cult continues beyond time, this very last catalog ends the Re-Discovery series as a perfect trilogy established by deejay and producer Matthias. These four pieces were composed in the same period where the 961 Studer mixing console was added to the artist studio, summoning their low-ending drum patterns blended into epic polyphonic strings and pads.
The artist gives a wide open glimpse of more dancefloor-oriented materials, the complex and alternate disco-funk synth orientation is well orchestrated without indulgence and most certainly gives birth to four songs of extreme versatility and DJ functionality. Once more the use of the vocoder is largely influential over the arrangements, adding romantic stratified atmospheres of riverbed nostalgia. A retro & modern territories alignment was the catalyst element of the artist's musical style orientation, outletting its sound into a unique musical genre. More

B From E - Prophecy
B From E, the enigmatic producer from Denmark has been turning heads and rocking parties across Europe, showcasing his amoebic demeanour via his all-encompassing sets and rave-centric soundtracking. The Danish darling has found his sonic home, in deep digging for rave-tinged 90s garage and breaks, and channelling them into his own concoctions, using their educative, lucid inspiration. ‘Amnesia’ is the culmination of his latest musical direction, threading the twines of acid debauchery and old-school beats through a groove-tinted prism. B From E helps you to forget about your future, and live in the hallowed past.
The title track ‘Amnesia’ takes no prisoners from the word go. Sitting somewhere on the fence between Gat Decor and Kamaya Painters, the ceaseless melody transforms from phase to phase, thematically touching melodic, acid and trance virtues and encapsulating pure rave sensibility. Track 2 is the oddly named ‘Ootheca’, a downtempo acid-driven creation of polymorphic vitality. Drawing influence from classic 90s house as denoted by the mellifluous chords and arpeggiated keys, the result is a head-nodder of unstoppable nature. Third up is ‘Symetrix’. Cranking the journey into 6th gear, the overtly intense arrangement waxes and wanes, underpinned by pumping percussion and an unapologetic bass refrain. Rounding the EP off is ‘Prophecy’, a deep foray back into the downtempo realm, once more ringing truer than true with B From E’s crystalline 90’s influences and breaks majesty.
Let this music soothe you. Nothing we remember is ever forgotten. And everything forgotten is gone. ‘Amnesia’ is the light at the end of your tunnel. Or maybe it's just the beginning. More
